Really good breakfast at a price that's hard to beat. Good service though you order before you sit down. The chicken and waffles was soo good. the waffles here are done really well. Slightly sweet by themselves. With the fried chicken cutlet and the maple syrup and slightly mustardy hollandaise, jt works really well. Huge pieces of bacon and the serving size is really generous. I split it with my son. I also split a corned beef hash which was also done really well. The meat is just perfect - tender yet crispy. The mix with shreddded potatoes also goes well They also have other great stuff like stuffed French toast. The bathrooms are also very nice. Next time if you're coming through Vernon be sure to give this place a try! read more

The best eggs Benny for miles around. I try to avoid breakfast anywhere else. Their burgers are un matched! Undefeated! I've never devoured a burger so quickly. I dream of their poutine, thick n crispy fries, a killer fry spice, yummy gravy and real curds. It's hard to find a poutine around town that's not soggy or cold. Theirs is garunteed to be neither ever! Any time I've had it I never share. It's allll mine! Muahah! Oh! And I love Thier lemonade! They have different flavors and it's all hand pressed by their beautiful and talented staff. Who are all so kind and welcoming, I have no idea how they can remember all their regulars names! I'm impressed both by their latte art and their attention to detail. I love it when they write sweet notes on my Togo cups! So kind! One last thing! The hollandaise... Oh. My. Gosh! In Vernon for the weekend and was told to go here for breakfast. What a treat! Chicken and Waffles were delicious - and includes 2 huge strips of bacon! Huge meal, easily shared. We also had the Avo Toast and the Mushroom toast. Both were amazing. Great little place! *As you order, then get a table, I would highly recommend checking out the menu BEFORE you go and be ready to order* It gets very busy and you don't want to be the loser holding up the line lol read more

I was visiting Vernon and came here for breakfast. The place is fairly spacious and roomy. As a visitor, I don't recall ever going to a restaurant where you order at the front and they bring out your food after ordering. I ate somewhere else and they did the same thing. Felt like a split between fast food service and restaurant service staff. No complaints, just a first for me. But the service was great, the people were friendly. The artwork was amazing. I wish I could afford it. There was a glass (I think) artwork of Banff and some very colourful animal artwork in the back. Highly recommend trying this place when visiting. read more

The restaurant looks a little rundown from the outside but the inside was brightly lit and nicely decorated. I came in around 11 am and it was already packed! The servers were friendly and I didn't have to wait long to put in my order. However, I did have to wait a good 20-25 minutes to get my food so that was a little disappointing. Overall I still enjoyed my food and would like to come back again when the restaurant isn't so busy. Here's what I ordered: 1. Avo Toast with Smoked Salmon: Let's take a moment and appreciate how colourful the dish looks! Taste wise, I thought the homemade guacamole was very fresh and went well with the French toast. I was a on road trip passing through Vernon and getting hungry when I did a quick search at the gas station for some great place to eat and Eatology popped up. This was during the "circuit breaker" during quarantine , so I was happy to not only find a great restaurant with raving reviews, but they had a patio that we could enjoy our meal. I chose the Chicken & Waffles and my boyfriend chose the Pulled Pork with an upgraded his side to dirty fries. Verdict? My waffles were perfectly chewy with a nice panko crusted chicken. The chicken looked a touch overdone, but the combination and texture was fantastic. The extra crispy bacon on the top also brought it to a different level. I've had a few different chicken and waffles, but never with bacon! Such an upgrade! My boyfriend loved his meal and was blown away especially by the dirty fries. I tried it and my gosh, it was addictive. Till this day, he still brings up that dish as the best fry dish he's had. Overall review, it's a gem and could be featured in one of those Food Network TV shows like Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. Next time I'm even remotely around the interior, I will be making another trip there! 5/5 from me! read more

Had moved to Vernon last summer and slowly working through all the recommended Restaurants... And boy did Eatology not disappoint! The atmosphere is so cool/chill and such a neat place to eat lunch/breakfast and everything was soo good! Tried the breakfast sandwich with sausage and had the fresh tomato basil soup as a side. It was all so tasty and beautifully presented, I was sad when I got full and couldn't finish it! My boyfriend ordered the dirty fries that where crispy and yummy as well! We stopped here on our way south on 97, what an awesome place! My sister and I split a beef burger which was excellent and the fries were amazing. Always interested in interesting and delicious food, I checked the menu out very well also. After consulting @yelp for the hottest place in #Vernon to eat breakfast, it was unanimous we had to eat at @eatologyvernon . We knew we had something good when we were part of a lineup outside the door on a Wednesday morning at 8:30 AM. I chose the smoked salmon eggs Benedict at the front counter and was then ushered to a booth by the window. The food arrive shortly and my eggs Benny look like a piece of art --it had been plated beautifully with fresh spring onions, dill and capers on top. Taking a big bite,it had a delicious sauce on it as well, though the food was kind of cold. I decided to just ignore that fact and continue eating as I was hungry and it was really good. The smoke salmon was salty and paired well with poached egg. The potatoes on the side were chunky and half smashed. The cheese on top was not very Melty but a nice additive anyways. Also, I must mention the restrooms at the back of the restaurant are really clean and I was impressed by the privacy. I look forward to returning and trying something different. read more

Stopped in for a quick breakfast while in town for a wedding. This is a cute spot with great food. We had a bit of a wait at around 10:00 on a Sunday until a table was available. After they texted us, we ordered at the counter and got seated to wait for our food. It was definitely worth the wait. Dear Vernon, Is there a better place to eat in Vernon? What a great eatery! Ordered a BBQ Chicken burger. Featured inside this delicious sandwich are Salt & Vinegar Chips! Get your mouth on this burger.! Ordered a salad (bodys a temple) on the side. Salad dressing was excellent. They make there coffee with Oso Negro beans from Nelson, some of the best in the province. Only reason I gave 4 stars is because they have a bit of an odd method of seating guests which caused some confusion. When we first walked in, we thought it was like a cafe as there was a menu board and a lineup to order, however, we were greeted by an employee who told us there was a waiting list to be seated so we could come back and order when we receive a text. We walked around the block and then headed back when we got the text and everything ran smoothly from here. We ordered and paid at the till and then got our table number and found our seat right away. The food came within 10 minutes and did not disappoint! I definitely recommend but maybe try to go at a less busy time to avoid the wait list. read more

It's so easy to give this place a good review. Here's why... FOOD/DRINK:  45/50 I've eaten here multiple times and have tried over half the menu. Eatology's food is on another level compared to most restaurants I've been to, even outside of Vernon. My fav breakfast items are the Mexican skillet, chicken and waffles, or the avocado toast for something light. (That creamed feta though.) *salivating all over*. Today, however, I was feeling one of my favourite dishes ever, the Buddha bowl with tofu. My mouth just started watering from thinking about. Need I say more? Healthy and delicious! I recommend getting an extra dressing on the side. If it changes your life like it did mine, you're welcome. ;) SERVICE/SUPPORT STAFF:  20/30 The service isn't bad; I just don't like the style of having to go up and order your food at the cashier. They under rate the importance of a host. It's in-personable, yet so are most people in Vernon in general, so I guess the style thrives here in this regard. Not for me though. They also miss out on coffee refills constantly, however they've gotten much better with this over time. Another critical note is that your food doesn't always come up at the same time as your parties. I've been in a number of times where I'm half way into my meal when my friend hasn't gotten his food yet. I believe they still need to tweak their systems front and back of house to make things like this better. ENVIRONMENT/VIBE:  9/20 This place is a great example of why I rate restaurants the way I do. You can have mediocre service and vibe, but it's the food that will ultimately keep people coming back, hence the high rating despite the fact that bathrooms are enough to make you want to puke. This place is attached to Vernon's greyhound station and shares the washroom facilities. Disgusting, take my word for it. I wish they would move into a different space that matches the quality of their food. You may have to wait for a table in the lineup that cuts right through the middle of the restaurant, so your ass may be grazing the back of someone's head as they bite down on their hot tasty French toast. Can't wait! It's a clean spot however that features a lot of fun local art decor. I'll stop talking now, and just go try the food because you're not going for anything else besides that! OVERALL EXPERIENCE:  74/100 If you're lucky to get a ready seat you'll likely have an excellent experience here! Be sure to schedule your bathroom adventures in advance. ;) read more

This place is the cats meow!! There was a line up when we came in and it stayed steady the whole time. The line moves fast though. Great food and great atmosphere! It feels a little like a coffee shop/cafe but is still a nice sit down restaurant. Fantastic vibe! Lots of options for breakfast or lunch. It looks as though it seats about 45 people with a neat u-shaped sitting couch for a larger group. It's located in the same building as the greyhound bus depot but they are two separate businesses (there is a door in between). The staff is great! Fun, fast and knowledgeable. The seating system here is a little odd - you pay for your order first and wait for a table, when a table opens up you are seated. We were a group of 6 and waited nearly 25 minutes for a table, because their seating is for smaller groups. There were three people sitting at a giant table drinking water for 15 minutes after having finished their meal - I understand the restaurant can't do anything about it, but if you're in a rush, it can be frustrating to be seated here. read more

Was there around a month ago with my daughter, son-in-law, and two grandchildren and the food was delicious. The chicken and waffles are amazing. The salads were delicious. The soup was homemade and so good. My daughter said she's never had a better waffle. I contacted the owner the next week asking if I could order some of the turkey soup for my dad as I don't live in the town and my Mom had just passed and my Dad is alone and she went out of her way to make a batch and drop it off personally to my dad.
