    the exterior of a restaurant

Eat'n Park, 1461 Scalp Avenue, Johnstown PA 15904. Synthia and I were shopping in the Richland area of Johnstown the other day. Neither of us had eaten at Eat'n Park in YEARS (literally a decade-plus), so we gave it a try and were very pleased. The service was prompt, friendly and the waitress was patient, as we went through the menu carefully. After ordering drinks (Syn had both hot coffee and Mug root beer; I had raspberry iced tea--we had free refills of the coffee and my tea), we decided to share a bunch of appetizers. We had plate of fried ravoli (sprinkled with grated cheese), fried zucchini strips, and fried dill pickles. All were tasty, the portions were more than adequate and came with dipping sauces (marinara for the 1st 2, ranch for the pickles). Synthia's main course was a hot turkey sandwich with fries and gravy. She insisted on giving me a forkful to taste and I agreed with her that it was delicious. With all the appetizers, I went simply with a cup of the soup of the day: Cream of Broccoli. It was piping hot, causing me to savor it slowly and very good, creamy indeed! I had all I wanted, as did Syn who took home some of her entree and examples of the appetizers in a pair of takeout boxes. The total including tax was $45, a reasonable price for the amount and quality of food involved and we added a good tip for our highly efficient and good-natured server. We joked among ourselves about this having a rep as an "old folks" restaurant, but I guess we are now (I turned 65 days ago; Syn's 55th b-day coming soon).

Gotta go to Eat n Park for breakfast while in Johnstown! Greeted quickly by the friendly hostess and waitress was great. We ordered be breakfast buffet. We enjoyed the breakfast ! Tons of choices - scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits, fruit, pancakes, waffles, sliced Fried potatoes- (those are rare to find a d so yummy). Price was reasonable and they have any breakfast item you can think of. Definitely recommend this location for breakfast. No trip is complete without purchasing their famous Smiley Cookies for the kids!

A classic Sunday brunch spot. The physical location of Johnstown location is okay in my eyes. The parking lot can be a challenge to enter from the main road and it's relatively small. Be careful driving in and out. Inside it's the typically good old Eat N Park. We were greater by friendly hostess upon arrival. Both my sister and I ordered the brunch, but took some time to review the menu for seasonal changes. It's the perfect location for a big group, family or picky eater. They have everything from breakfast all day to buffalo shrimp wraps, pasta and more. Service is quick and prompt. The brunch buffet has the traditional salad bar items, plus oven browned potatoes, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, mixed vegetables, French toast sticks, perogies, fried chicken and soups! Today they had chili, chicken noodle (my favorite) and cream of potato. Don't forget dessert: They have a variety of desserts including some amazing milkshakes!

I then asked to speak to the owner and very aggressively she responded, "I'm the F******* owner". I caused no harm and the incompetent bouncers then locked me outside. I sustained injury to my hand and leg. The bouncers didn't even check to see if I was ok. Police and an ambulance were called. I will be pressing charges against this horrible and disgusting person/employee. She's a huge liability. This isn't the first time that she's been violent at her place of employment. I would be embarrassed to have her working for me. She is trash!! *** Also, This establishment keeps taking down this review. I will continue to get what happened to me out in the public!! **** The owner's reply "Always remember there are 2 sides to every story. First calling Someone a name to start out your comment is not a good look. "Ugly Jackie"? We have 64 cameras on property. This was all caught on numerous cameras. You were asked to leave Multiple times in a few minute timeframe, You then proceeded in flipping the middle finger to Jackie the bar-tender. She then came around from the back of the bar to help escort you off premises. When you got to the doorway a CUSTOMER. I repeat a CUSTOMER. pushed you out the door where you hit your leg and fell to the ground. The officers came and got the footage and I'm sure you will be notified of this. Again, A CUSTOMER, A MALE CUSTOMER, not a security guard, or any employee, then proceeded in Grabbing you and pushed you out the door. You hit the side of the door. You are correct, the Security Guard did then stop you and your friend from re-en-tering the building. Due to the scene you two created inside. You then called police and received an ambulance. In today's day and age cameras do not lie. Sometimes people do. I was not present, But once again. Watched the surveillance with the police today and this is what was seen by all. We were told to give you a notice to stay off the property. So here is your notice. Do not come back to Woodside Bar and Grill" *** It's amazing how false the owner's entire response is. I talked to the police and what he saying is indeed incorrect and actually, your manager was the one to release the footage to Stoneycreek Police. You were not involved. The owner, Robert, is trying to cover himself and his crappy violent establishment. Thank you for not welcoming me back because I wouldn't come back even if you paid me. I want nothing to do with people who support violence in this community and lying. I mean this sincerely, I hope one day that this places closes.

Made arrangements with Balance owner and staff to stay "open" for our team. We pre-ordered our entrees and apps so when we arrived our food orders were already underway. Had drink orders taken and within minutes our drinks and appetizers were served. We had the place to ourselves with a wonderful waiter, Trenton, his assistant, a bartender, chef Dallas and his wife who owns the establishment but I cannot remember her name. First and foremost, the menu is awesome, diverse, unique and wide ranging. Prices are very reasonable and portions very good. The really reason to return is the taste. 12 guys had 6 or 7 different dishes and everyone raved at how good their choice was. Drinks were excellent and complimentary dessert samplings were awesome. The service was excellent, we were treated like special. My hats off to them for wanting to stay "open"; the restaurant closed to the public at 9:30 and serve us. Granted, it was a pretty good bill but I had called another restaurant in the area explaining our situation and they turned us down. I believe our proprietor asked her staff if they wanted to oblige us and she told me that their reply was something along the lines of "we're going to be here anyway cleaning up, why not make some money." Please, if you're in town or even close, give Balance a try, I guarantee you will be glad you did. Thanks again to all the staff at Balance for making our dinner together as a team a memorable and satisfying event!

When I found them online I was jazzed about the menu. They have a lot of unique options which I'm a huge fan of. It's always easy to find basic menus, so to find something fun that also offered a kids menu (meaning, cool... I don't need to worry about taking my humans even though they'll be ordering off the regular menu) was promising. The space itself is funky in a good way and spacious. It spans a few different rooms which all have their own vibe, and we saw igloos outside! I'd say our food had a 60/40 success rate. The hummus was seriously awesome, as was the risotto. My protein power bowl was so tasty with a great dressing and I absolutely love that they have creative vegetarian options. Our server was so kind, but I'm not quite sure where they were for most of our visit. Again... maybe an off night. We'd try it again. If you're someone who needs a changing table, they have one!

In all the time that I have lived in and around Johnstown, I had never been able to make it here…read more On a recent trip back home I met my sister and her family for a dinner. I'm glad I finally did to check this place of my to try list. From the outside, it looks like a typical hole-in-the-wall bar in the Johnstown area. I had no idea where parking was because every time I drove past here I would be doing it at a pace I couldn't see. I was happy to see that there was ample parking behind the street facing building. Entry from the parking lot takes you up stairs or a zig-zagging ramp that looks fairly new. This area is also connected to an outdoor seating area, can't really call it a patio. Or, you can enter from outside and take the stairs up into dining room. This is a seat yourself establishment. Once you are seated, you are greeted and given menus. What an extensive menu it is. The amount of items on the menu, if you haven't been here before, can be daunting. It took me a few minutes to just give it a once over. When the server came back around to take our drink order she asked if we needed a few more minutes, yes, we did. When she returned I was ready to go. I ordered the Pickle Chips as my appetizer and the Howler as my main. The Pickle Chips were served with a side of ranch for dipping and they were amazing. Perfectly coated, not too much and not too little. Dipping in the ranch cooled them down just enough to be enjoyable. Now, the Howler, is kind of an experience. The Howler is one of their signature burgers. Half-pound patty cooked to your liking. The set toppings on this burger is bacon, choice of cheese (American Cheddar, Swiss, Provolone, or Pepper Jack), meat sauce, and a fried egg. You also can choose to add lettuce tomato onion and pickle. For mine, I went American for the cheese, lettuce, onion and pickle. There really wasn't any need for condiments as there was already so much on the burger to give it flavor. It almost comes off as either a breakfast burger or a chili cheese burger. Although I did as for medium, they overcooked it a bit. What was a nice addition here was the side. You can go with the traditional fries or go for one of many that don't seem to have an upcharge to it. Tater tots, slaw, applesauce, or nachos and one item for an upcharge, onion rings. I went with tater tots. Overall, this was an enjoyable meal. Our service was impeccable. Atmosphere was lively.
