They feature an entire menu of Thai dishes you simply will not find elsewhere, actually a majority you probably won't even be familiar with. Even if you didn't know what they were before, you certainly will not forget once these flavor profiles hit your taste buds. Haven't been here for few months and I just realized now that the business practice is shady. The listed price is CASH price. It's 4% more if you pay with your credit card. There is nowhere on the menu or on the door, walls, etc which shows that customers will pay 4% higher to cover credit card charges. The implied is that they'd like to encourage you to pay cash. This is a very dishonest practice. We are all responsible to pay our fair share of taxes. While the food is good, this dishonest practice leaves really bad taste. And I have recommended this place to many friends; whom I have to warn now. I would like to support locally owned and honest business. This is so unfortunate!!!! Lived in the area for almost two years now and never knew about this place. Happy hour starts at noon with $3 draft beer. I was surprised that they actually had a decent selection of local craft beers. Lunch specials come with soup or salad. The soup of the day was Coconut Chicken, Spicy but good. So I have been looking for a Thai restaurant in Delray Beach and found this spot Located near Linton in Federal. When you're driving a don't blink, you might miss it, the sign does not stand out that much. I ordered takeout after a hard day at work and ordered the favorites listed on Yelp, including chicken, wings--spicy, Penang chicken, pad Thai, and Thai fried rice without the pineapple. The chicken wings were good and really unique in their spice category as well as their seasonings, everyone should try them, the Penang chicken was delicious. However, the container with the rice wasn't really full, so be prepared to ask them for a full container of rice l, but the rice was delicious and we ordered it with shrimp and the shrimp was actually a good size. will definitely stop here again and hopefully we will see some luncheon specials and dinner specials in the near future. I really love Thai food. Really. The curry, the aromatics, the marriage of spices, the obligatory jasmine rice, the flavors, the selection of sauces, the sting of hot pepper on your tongue, the kaffir lime leaves... the list goes on! Eathai is a unique place--one look at their menu and you will see that it is not your typical "Thai place", or at least the kind I'm used to from living in or visiting major US metropolitan areas. In this review, I'm factoring in two experiences with Eathai--one before COVID or during the early days of COVID, and one in November 2020, well into COVID; both were takeout experiences. I have been inside, and it looks quaint and semi-modern enough for a nice dinner date, for instance. The location is just OK--there's not much other reason to be in the plaza where it's located except a pancake house... On the first visit, my partner and I were looking for a crunchy appetizer to accompany the rest of a meal cooked at home. We split the Coconut Shrimp appetizer for $8. That ended up being 4 small coconut shrimp, which regrettably weren't that good. Maybe it is my fault for ordering coconut shrimp to-go, but they were forgettable other than for the fact I'd want to remember not to order them again. I didn't try anything else. Recently, I ordered a full takeout meal from Eathai - one order of the double pork chops with papaya salad, and one order of Pad Prik King with shrimp. The pork chops were fine, though I'm not a fan of too much fish sauce; that wasn't my entrée and the diner whose it was enjoyed it, so no complaints here. Pad Prik King (English spelling may vary) is a known quantity - I love the expectant spice and aromas of this dish, with the crunch of green beans and a nice protein to boot (e.g., I've had this with Thai diced chicken elsewhere and loved it). The Eathai entrée just wasn't all that for sure. The plate had a total of 5 shrimp and a handful of green beans (photo attached). Needless to say, I was still hungry after devouring it, the rice, and a side of hot sauce, so I fried an egg at home... not the level of effort you want when getting takeout after working a long day. The flavor was good, but not great. The quantity of food was laughable for a main and the price. Unfortunately, now I will remember not to go back here anytime soon. :( read more

We were a bit disappointed in our visit here. I'm not sure if it was the hype from the recent newspaper articles and other high reviews or we just ordered wrong or what. The food was okay. But certainly no where near 5-star. I had heard the waiter say to the table next to us that they'd been swamped the other day. I think they might be just getting a bit ahead of themselves. We went early on a Sunday and there was only one server. He wasn't sure about the daily special -- had to ask. And he wasn't sure what was in certain items when we asked, either. We started with a lamb satay appetizer that we shared. There were two skewers of meat and it was nicely presented along with two dipping sauces. It just wasn't cooked well enough and wasn't served at a hot enough temperature. I preferred the peanut sauce. My husband liked the vinegar sauce. I was originally going to order the duck curry or one of the noodle dishes, but after talking to our table neighbors, I changed my dish to two appetizers they'd said I must order. They prepared the dinners for the table that came in after us before ours and tried to serve us their food first --Mixing up our orders. When they placed it on our table we had to tell them it wasn't our food. They weren't busy -- two tables had just left. And there was only us and the one other table that came in later. The coconut shrimp app came in a little wire basket. Again, it was good, but it was lukewarm. I couldn't eat the dipping sauce cause I think it had pineapple in it (I'm allergic). I'd told the waiter, btw, not to give me anything with pineapple or mango. The other app I got was the enoki mushroom app. It was two clumps of tiny enoki mushrooms surrounding some minced chicken filling and deep fried. Very different and chewy and the mushrooms were a tad difficult to bite into. Again served lukewarm. At the same time as my two apps, my husband got a calamari dish that was described as coming with a salted egg. When we didn't see the egg on the dish, and asked, we were told the egg was in the sauce. Along with his meal, they served a small dish with the tiniest scoop of white rice. I tried a piece of his calamari and a couple of green peppers. The taste was very flat and plain. No pizazz or spice of any kind at all. My wife was influenced by the neighboring table and changed her mind based on their recommendation. I selected the squid sautéed in a salty egg sauce. ( I was disappointed when it arrived because I was expecting a nice 6 minute egg on the plate.) No egg, the kitchen prepares a sauce with the yolk of a salty egg. The squid was tender and tasty with the pieces of bell pepper, onion, and lemon grass amid the salty egg sauce. The Jasmin rice was fluffy but could have been served with more than just a scoop (ice cream scoop size) of rice to absorb some of that tasty salty egg sauce. Making a reservation is recommended. The staff was so friendly and helpful with selecting the following menu choices. A group of six of us went there Saturday night for dinner. We walked in and we're greeted by no one. We had a reservation and they didn't have that available so they shoved two tables together and that was fine. We all ordered water with lemon and she finally brought the water to us and it had a lime on the glass. We asked for lemon but she said they don't have lemon. She could have said that when we ordered. When our waiter finally got around to bringing the menus and we decided what we wanted we basically had to go find her. the service was atrocious. It was the worst I've ever experienced in any restaurant. I ordered the Spicy Skinny Pad Thai with Chicken as did my wife. We figured that you could never go wrong with that dish. I've had Thai food in Chicago and New York and Florida just to name a few states and this was without a doubt the worst Pad Thai that I've ever eaten. It was tasteless and the little bit of chicken that was in it was overcooked. My wife hardly touched hers and she brought it home. I wouldn't eat it so she threw it in the garbage. We asked for refills of water and maybe twenty minutes later we got the refills after waving our arms to flag her down. I asked for another napkin but that never happened. The prices were reasonable but the quality of the food was not edible. The only thing she was prompt on was when we were done eating and ready to leave she was right there with our bill expecting a large tip. On my first visit a year ago I had the crispy noodle pad Thai and it wasn't love. This time we ordered the calamari starter, crab fried rice, and garlic and black pepper shrimp. Much much better. The crab fried rice is a STAR...nice healthy chunks of crab in that, and a very tasty sauce to drizzle on top. The calamari was the weak link, but it's avocado dipping sauce was interesting. The calamari itself could have been better seasoned. The garlic and black pepper shrimp made up for the calamari....that dish had a healthy amount of seasoning, including tons of minced garlic and whole peppercorns. read more

Highlight: Came here for some dinner exam relief before my internal medicine exam with a few other Yelpers sine I had heard of incredible things about this place. We ordered calamari with salty egg, crispy noodle pad thai, Thai omelet with sweet radish, mussel with lemongrass creamy sauce soup, grilled lamb satay, Panko crusted salmon served with spicy mango salad. Props for this place maintaining its authenticity thai roots with the deep fried fish skin, daring use of salt eggs that most people would find too strong for their liking, generous bold flavor of mussel soups, tenderness of lamb satay (well marination). Appetizers - Lamb Satay- I usually shy away from lamb b/c if not marinated well, I don't care for the taste of the meat. However, the satays were tender, flavorful and even though I knew it was not beef, I could not taste the flavor that I usually associate with lamb. Highly recommend this dish if you're a meat lover. - Thai Omelet with Radish- the omelet is a sweeter omelet that is more pancake like than your typical Western yellow fluffy omelet. It is a nice comfortable mild sweeter pancake like omelet. - Mussels with creamy Lemongrass sauce- I love that this tasted like a Tom yum Tom Kha kind of soup- it's sour and has that generous of fish sauce that gives this dish that authentic Thai kick. There's that nice tang and yet it's very clean tasting and not heavy despite having a coconut soup base. Generous wit mussels, that it is indeed mussels in soup rather than soup w/ mussels. Good soup to split among friends as you get ready for the main meal since the sour taste will open up your appetite. Main course - Panko crusted salmon with mango salad- I had heard of raving things about the salmon and that's why it was ordered but I enjoyed the crispy skin that came as almost a side snack of this dish. The mango salad tasted more like a mango pepper South American salad- a nice Floridian touch to this otherwise well done dish- middle is not dried out, a risk that deep frying the outside can sometimes do if one is not experienced. I recommend pairing this salmon with a dipping sauce or some flavoring- it was a little bland and could use some sauce dip but hence the mango salad- but that's hard to put together in each bite. - Calamari with Salty egg- I remembered this dish as being more peppers than calamari- calamari is the decoration in this dis but definitely bit into that salty egg- coming from an Asian food ancestry, this was great for me b/c few places dare use this salty duck egg decoration that Eathai used. Very well done. - Crispy pad thai- this dish honestly felt more like a giant appetizer meant to be split amongst friends. Te crispy was as crispy as chips- you're essentially eating noodle chips with chicken and egg thrown in- reminded me more of a Singaporean noodle crispy snack. Dessert- This place has rolled ice cream! If you've never had or seen rolled ice cream, it's fun and it's the craze that's been sweeping the nation. We chose the halo halo- a coconut based ice cream with red bean and asian flavors that I thought went well with this dinner. Lemongrass, galangal, lime leaves, and cilantro must be what heaven is made up of. Glass noddles, fish balls, ground chicken, calamari and shrimp is all found tastefully dancing in the Tom Yum soup. I have tried many different dishes here and have all been good. Now, this Thai restaurant is very different from your typically "American-ized Thai food." First off they do not serve sushi here. Only Thai. They have very authentic flavors and ingredients. For example, the Papaya salad is great, the pad Thai has just the right amount of oil and the Tom yum soup has the perfect balance of lime, lemongrass and fish sauce.
