The market place in question! They have a good handful of locations around Rome/Italy. The location we went to was in the airport in Rome. The set up is nice. In the center was the marketplace section with dry goods and souvenirs to take home. Around the marketplace was different restaurants for grab and go and tables to sit at in small sections around Eatily. There was gelato, a coffee shop, and a bar. The selection was nice. Different meals and snacks for everyone. The service was decent. The bartenders were nice and attentive. The bar snacks were good! I recommend it! read more

Because I happen to luv the Eataly in NYC, I was curious, and I'd just gotten off a transatlantic flight from the US, dusted off my rusty Italian, remembered how to get from Fiumicino to the stazione termini *and* remembered to validate my ticket (they checked!! ) I had disembarked and was walking to the taxi stand, and lo and behold: Eataly It was a chance to settle down, gather my thoughts and get my bearings. We were starving after a half-day spent on and waiting for trains that took us nowhere. The idea was to take a train from Rome to Frascheta and visit a winery but that didn't happen. We ended up back in Roma Termini and Eataly looked very inviting. Also familiar since we love it in Las Vegas. We shared a caprese salad and bread which were delicious. Also, at take away, the service can be a bit hectic if you don't know what you are doing - hint: figure out what you want to order and pay at the register FIRST like you do in most coffee shops in Italy. The coccio de peppe tasted like a salt bomb and nothing else , literally no other flavor, I asked if there was something I could add , I was told no. Mehh with all the amazing little hole-in-the-wall places in Rome, Eataly just doesn't make the cut. I do love the specialty grocery store portion of it (even if food prices are a bit high IMO) and of course the ambiance of the restaurant space is just lovely - very modern and clean-feeling. Service is quite good. It's really just the food that's mediocre - but what can you really expect from an international chain restaurant? The cacio e pepe I ordered was by far the least delicious of every place I ordered it in Italy (and trust me, there were quite a few!). The pasta was a bit overcooked and I felt that the pepper was from one of those ground pepper tins, not freshly ground. It was just a bit bland, honestly. I love a good gourmet food market and food halls, and I've visited Eatalys all over the world, from New York City to Rome to Munich to Chicago to Los Angeles. It was just announced that one is coming to my home base of Las Vegas soon, so I'm pretty stoked about that too. The Eataly in Rome is different from the rest because all of the Italian goods that are sold at the other locations are SUPER cheap here because nothing has to be imported. I got a kick out of seeing the exact same jar of pesto here for 3 Euros that I bought in NYC for $19. Now you shouldn't make a full meal eating at this place, but it's worth a stop to browse the cute home accessories and the gourmet food stuffs (don't miss the cheese counter), and to rest your feet with a glass of reasonably priced prosecco or an espresso. read more

We first came here to get some cappuccino, cornetti, and hot chocolate. They are amazing! My husband thinks, after careful consideration, that this is they have the best cornetto in Rome! It has chocolate on the inside and dusted with powder sugar and cocoa. We decided to try their restaurant. We ordered their pasta: carbonara and squid/seafood. The carbonara was okay, but the squid spaghetti was amazing! We also ordered a meat plate set. This portion was huge! It is definitely good for at least 2 people. Eataly is broken down to a few sections. There is the grocery section, quick bites section (pastries, sandwiches, gelato, etc), and a outdoor or indoor seating waiter service area. To purchase groceries, pick a basket and once you're ready to check out there are 2 cashiers designated just for that section. If you want a quick bite without waiter service, ask one of the employees behind the glass case filled with all sorts of ready to eat delicious goodies and then pay at the register in that section. After a long day of site seeing, we were hot and hungry. We decided to dine in their lower level restaurant with waiter service. Restrooms are on the bottom level as well. They are neat and clean. The day we visited, only one other person was dinning at the bottom level restaurant. The hostess was very friendly and seated us immediately. It felt so nice and cool in the bottom level, away from the heat and crowds. Our server was sweet and attentive for the most part. He was patient with us as we looked at their large menu. We ordered the Pizza Patate and Amatriciana Rigatoni, both were delicious! The Pizza Patate was like a Margarita Pizza and Freshly Fried Chips joined in a beautiful marriage. The Amatriciana Rigatoni had a lovely lightly sweet tomato flavor, with bacon and pecorino cheese. The rigatoni was as al dente as can be. Delicious! Their serving sizes are perfect, just the right amount for us to share. We did have to remind our server about the fruit juices we ordered. He was quick to look into that, which was appreciated. Definitely try their seasonal fruit juice, super fresh. I'm so glad Eataly was so close to our hotel. We were able to purchase a bunch of yummy goodies for loved ones back home from here. Our first meal in Rome. Sad to say we've had better Italian food in Los Angeles. The caprese salad was more like a leafy salad without the basil and the mozzarella wasn't creamy. I ordered the truffle pasta which was okay, nothing orgasmic and too salty. Husband had the spaghetti bolognese. The texture of the pasta was great and perfectly aldente, but the sauce lacked something. I had the house white wine which was great. He had the blonde ale and was happy. We couldn't help but be lured into this multi national chain..the lights, the wide outdoor patio. While I didn't enjoy the flavor of the sausage on our pizza, the warm chicory salad may have been the best of our trip. It is 5e to dine outside, ouch! We had been to the Eataly in New York and decided to stop into this one in Rome. It was just a couple of blocks from our hotel, and we wanted something casual and outside. We noticed that a combo of tourists and locals were here, so we decided to give it a try, and we weren't disappointed. We sat outside on the terrazza and watched the world go by (there's seating inside, too, but it's isolated and we never saw anyone sitting there). There were many options on the menu -- even your choice of crusts for their pizza -- and it was delicious: thin, crispy, and fresh. I had a plate of tonarelli pasta with bacon, and it was creamy, tasty, and perfectly cooked. Their wine selection was also impressive. We even shopped for local packaged foods inside to take back as souvenirs. We came here for lunch at 2:00pm on a Thursday. There was no wait for a table and you can sit anywhere from floor -1 to 2 and order food any of the restaurants. This Eatly is a grocery store and joined with Groupo Ethos to operate the restaurant. The service was quick and friendly. We ordered a mixed grill, pasta, salad, and fish and chips to share. was very excited to come here and see what this is all about esp hearing about it, esp its location in NYC. it was a short walk from termini, but you can get out of repubblica metro stop. they have outdoor seating to enjoy the food outside in front of the fountain. we went before noon and most of the eatery stations were not open. the coffee bar was open and my husband tried a shakerto basically espresso shaken with ice and served in a small glass. for 4 euro it was alright, he did like it but everyone knows that a small hole in the wall cafes everywhere else would have much better coffee. the bar also sold more than coffee, like paninis and sandwiches. i think you can definitely come here to check it out and see the products in the specialty market. if you had an air bnb you could totally buy specialty items to cook at home. other than checking it out and experiencing it, when in Rome i think its best to keep with the local places. but i get why people would go here if in the States read more

So first things first. The quality of the ingredients used at Eataly is unquestionable. All natural, high grade stuff sourced from different regions in Italy. Which begs the question - Why only 3 stars? Put these same ingredients in the hands of a Michelin star chef or even a good cook and he/she would create magic. With all of the great, authentic places to eat in Italy, don't waste your time here... I went here with my family after a long day of touring the Amalfi Coast and we chose here because it was so close to where our tour dropped off. However, my mom's purse was stolen off the back of her chair (I know, I know... lesson learned) by the person sitting at the table behind us. The staff insisted that no one was sitting behind us, but all four of us saw a couple sitting at the table and saw our waitress interacting with them. At one point, our waitress stood behind me to talk to our table of four (I was sitting across from the person who had her purse stolen), causing all of us to turn our backs to the other table and focus our attention to our waitress - looking back, we are all absolutely convinced that she was giving them the opportunity to take my mom's purse. To make matters worse, she never returned to our table after the purse was reported stolen (not to check in, ask what happened, inquire about the food, offer the check, etc); however, the rest of the staff seemed incredibly helpful. We are certain she was involved in orchestrating the theft. Even prior to the stolen purse, our experience here was poor... I asked for 2 beers from the menu and was told neither were available, I then switched to wine and selected 3 different wines only to find out after asking for each one that they weren't available either. I then asked if a 4th wine and asked for the waitress to select something similar if it was not available, but she said she wasn't sure if they would have it and did not know a comparable. I then said if they didn't have it, then I don't want wine... however, the manager ended up coming over and bringing a comparable wine because they didn't have my 4th wine pick (surprise!). The staff stated they were changing over there menu, but it seems like it would be more efficient for staff and customers to cross out options that are no longer available or make a new list of what they now offer. Unfortunately partner's rigatoni alla carbonara arrived at table perhaps three minutes after ordering while he was off in search of the restroom, well in advance of my salade nicoise. I was excited to see a familiar place.I fondly recall the culinary experiences I had at Eataly in Chicago recently. I had expected a similar experience here. The store appears to be a new location. The store itself is really chopped up - difficult to navigate and understand where the food/restaurants are as it is on 3 levels and narrow stairs need to be negotiated to reach each level. The upstairs sit down restaurant looked inviting- white tablecloths, etc. We were promptly seated but no waiter came for 15 minutes. When he did he was curt, not helpful in any way. Orders were placed for a party of 4 - after 15 more minutes waiting, he returned asking us to give the order again as " the computer malfunctioned ". We left and went downstairs to another eating area. Again, service was bad - lots of people running around but no organization, etc. And they don't take Amex ! I would like to give the place no stars but the food selections and grocery store looked good. Avoid this place to eat until the kinks get worked out. read more

I wanted to eat outside on the piazza and went to the counter to order after sitting outside for a long time without service. The person at the register said "Yes, order here and take the receipt down the counter to the server who will give you your food. When I did and told the server I was at a table outside he was frustrated and said "TODAY I WILL KILL YOU" maybe a poor choice of words from someone who doesn't speak English as their first language but the LAST thing you want to hear as an American traveling In Europe. We were pleasantly surprised by Eataly which was adjacent to our hotel. It was our last evening in Rome and we had an early flight home so didn't want to be too adventurous on our last night. We decided to try Eataly as we'd been to Eataly in the States. After 8 days of pasta and pizza, we really wanted some steak and Eataly did not disappoint. We had the rib eye and the blackened steak tips which were served on a grill plate and were cooked perfectly. We sat outdoors on the large veranda shared with our hotel.
