    Coccio de Pepe
    Priya M.

This was one of the worst pasta meals I've ever had in my life and I eat At the Olive Garden in the states. The coccio de peppe tasted like a salt bomb and nothing else , literally no other flavor, I asked if there was something I could add , I was told no. I took a few bites and just left the meal on the table, it was too awful to choke down.

water we were served and charged for, was tap water and grimy.

rude service, sat us immediately to their credit, but whilst taking our order, our server cut us off to yell across the restaurant then again to talk to his colleague (friend?). told not to get aranciata/limonada drinks because they were hot, when brought a drink they brought a cup of ice as well which was dirty. only talked to once, taken our order and that's it, we waited 15-ish minutes before we were talked to. also charged for tap water.

Mehh with all the amazing little hole-in-the-wall places in Rome, Eataly just doesn't make the cut. I do love the specialty grocery store portion of it (even if food prices are a bit high IMO) and of course the ambiance of the restaurant space is just lovely - very modern and clean-feeling. Service is quite good. It's really just the food that's mediocre - but what can you really expect from an international chain restaurant? The cacio e pepe I ordered was by far the least delicious of every place I ordered it in Italy (and trust me, there were quite a few!). The pasta was a bit overcooked and I felt that the pepper was from one of those ground pepper tins, not freshly ground. It was just a bit bland, honestly. Skip this one in favor of something more authentic!

    Squid seafood spaghetti -- delicious!

We first came here to get some cappuccino, cornetti, and hot chocolate. They are amazing! My husband thinks, after careful consideration, that this is they have the best cornetto in Rome! It has chocolate on the inside and dusted with powder sugar and cocoa. We decided to try their restaurant. We ordered their pasta: carbonara and squid/seafood. The carbonara was okay, but the squid spaghetti was amazing! We also ordered a meat plate set. This portion was huge! It is definitely good for at least 2 people. Their customer service was good, even though it was crowded for lunch! We will definitely be back.

Eataly is broken down to a few sections. There is the grocery section, quick bites section (pastries, sandwiches, gelato, etc), and a outdoor or indoor seating waiter service area. To purchase groceries, pick a basket and once you're ready to check out there are 2 cashiers designated just for that section. If you want a quick bite without waiter service, ask one of the employees behind the glass case filled with all sorts of ready to eat delicious goodies and then pay at the register in that section. After a long day of site seeing, we were hot and hungry. We decided to dine in their lower level restaurant with waiter service. Restrooms are on the bottom level as well. They are neat and clean. The day we visited, only one other person was dinning at the bottom level restaurant. The hostess was very friendly and seated us immediately. It felt so nice and cool in the bottom level, away from the heat and crowds. Our server was sweet and attentive for the most part. He was patient with us as we looked at their large menu. We ordered the Pizza Patate and Amatriciana Rigatoni, both were delicious! The Pizza Patate was like a Margarita Pizza and Freshly Fried Chips joined in a beautiful marriage. The Amatriciana Rigatoni had a lovely lightly sweet tomato flavor, with bacon and pecorino cheese. The rigatoni was as al dente as can be. Delicious! Their serving sizes are perfect, just the right amount for us to share. We did have to remind our server about the fruit juices we ordered. He was quick to look into that, which was appreciated. Definitely try their seasonal fruit juice, super fresh. I'm so glad Eataly was so close to our hotel. We were able to purchase a bunch of yummy goodies for loved ones back home from here. I highly recommend checking this place out, especially during at an off time. This place can get very busy and disorganized, especially during peak lunch and dinner hours.

Good food, great environment, deffinately not a tourist trap. This was recomended by a local Roman and was not disappointed

We couldn't help but be lured into this multi national chain..the lights, the wide outdoor patio. While I didn't enjoy the flavor of the sausage on our pizza, the warm chicory salad may have been the best of our trip. It is 5e to dine outside, ouch! If you do not want to be charged extra for the "pane" you might have to refuse it a couple of times as we did.

Every time I'm in Rome I'm stopping by Eataly. Not sure why the low rating, they have everything you could want to eat under one roof. We enjoyed a pizza, and some fried appetizers. I had a few beers and unfortunately was full, because I wanted seafood and carne. I'll be back again and get a fuller taste of the deliciousness the other stations offer.

Super fresh food. Awesome little grocery store, reminding of a gourmet place like "whole foods" in the states.

Terribly over priced for average food. The pasta was so hard you couldn't roll it in your fork. Services is not very attentive.

We got the meat option. They open daily at 1PM for lunch and it's €1,00 for water if you need one. Take away only and no seating inside the pasta shop. A lot of people just ate near their store on the street... It's very close to the Spanish Steps so it's pretty easy to find. Right across from Pompi Tiramisu so you can get a dessert after the pasta. The noodles were chewy, great flavors and the pork crispy (looked like bacon than pancetta)... For 5 euros it's such a steal. I saw a bunch of local students swarming the outside of the store while chomping away at their pasta... it has to be good right? The store is clean, small and has big trash bins inside in case you're finished with your pasta and want to throw away the container... I ended up getting some dried pasta to bring home. Highly recommend checking them out. Hubby wasn't even hungry and still had more than half of MY pasta.

The line out the door caught our attention and the 4,50 euro sign for pasta was too affordable to pass up. Pastificio Guerra usually has two handmade pasta options for you to choose from. An option with meat and one vegetarian one. The menu was different on both days we went. The first day we came they had a bolognese meat one with a mushroom options. On the second day we came they had a gnocchi with red sauce and few meatballs. I think they had the same mushroom vegetarian one they had on the first day as well. We had the meat ones on each day and they were both good. A portion was a good size and filled us up. The pastas were flavorful and came out hot. They give it to you in a take out container with a spork to be eaten. No bags. They don't have seating inside or outside. It's more of a grab and go type of place and the line moves rather quick. They also sell their ready to be cooked pastas inside.
