If you visit any yarn store in the country it should be ESK. Therefore, this is a must do for Atlanta. It is a massive selection of handyed and premium yarns. The store is beautiful and has a large selection of needles and patterns as well. The yarn is mostly superwash wool and blends from companies such as: Sweet GA, Lornas Laces, and Madelinetosh. Also lots of Alpaca, and some silks. Plenty of easy free parking. Go spend more than you planned on- I always do.

This place is amazing. Only reason it didn't get 5 stars is because it's so damn expensive. Staff was friendly and helpful. Most of the yarn was wool based so if you're looking for cotton based yarn they literally only had one kind. The color selection and variety of wool yarn was absolutely out of this world. I think the cheapest skein was around $17 - tons of knitting supplies as well - nothing for crochet supplies though. Lots of parking and if you check in on Facebook they give you a free measuring tape with their logo on it. If you sign up for the email list you get a scratch off - which can be used on in store AND online purchases.

LOVE this store! Huge variety of gorgeous yarns, helpful staff, a super-fun rewards program and a website for us out-of-state fans!

Kudos to places who provide space for people to come together to do things they love like work on…read morefiber arts! I was visiting ATL for the weekend and wanted to visit some yarn stores so the Craftivist came up in my research. I saw that they host events for people to come in and work on their fiber arts a few times a week so this sold me on visiting! When I stopped in, I was greeted and there was space for me to sit down. I even got some help on my project. It was so nice to be community with people who love the fiber arts for a little while. I look forward to supporting their business since they also ship!

I recently had a private knitting lesson here…read more The instructor begin with telling me the different types of forms yarn comes in, ie. hanks, skeins and balls along with other information about knitting. After the introduction the instructor picked out a wood circular knitting needle for me. The reason for choosing the wood I was told it would help hold the yarn better for a beginner versus a metal needle. When it came time to choose the yarn I was told to make my choice from a small area. I picked a mustard yarn. The next day I received an invoice from the store because I didn't pay for the items. Silly me. I assumed because I was only allowed to pick out from a certain section that it was included with the lesson that I had paid for. Unfortunately, because the yarn I chose was quite small. It has been difficult as a beginner working with it. There have been a lot of starts and stops which I would expect but more so because of the size of the yarn. I have since learned as a beginner I should have a bulkier yarn. When I left that day, I had not gotten the hang of the cast on, or the knit stitch. Five minutes before the class was to end we had just finished casting on and that didn't leave much time for the knitting since the store was opening. Since taking the class I have been able to get the hang of the cast on and the knit stitch thanks to Sheep and Stitch on YouTube. I think the reason I didn't get the hang of it in the store was because of the teaching style. It just didn't mesh with my learning style. I would definitely recommend the classes to anyone here. Very professional staff. Because the yarn I ended up purchasing isn't good for beginners. I did call the store to see if I could exchange it, but I was told they would not accept it because it had already been wound. The staff was very nice. They were very helpful when customers came in.

I had a great experience and happy that this business is in the area…read more I was worried about where I was going to get my yarn from after Joanne's closed. Especially as I'm gravitating toward more natural yarn types. It's a small, cozy, and intimate with a lot of variety of yarn. I like that they have a lot of natural yarns there. There's a pretty big range of prices for the variation of the yarn. You can find a lot of your crochet and knitting needs there from cute accessories, useful devices like the winding machine, hooks, etc. They also have classes you can sign up for.

I'm a fiber artist; what this means, is that I'm completely taken by fibers like cotton, acrylic,…read morepolyester, bamboo, wool, rafia etc. I turn these fibers into beautiful pieces of clothing. Yarn is a magnet for me, so I tend to look for yarn stores, yarn deals and specialty stores. This particular yarn studio popped up on my google maps when I was looking for yarn for a prayer shawl. So I drove 30 minutes there and found some great deals on dyed yarns of cotton and wool varieties. Turns out they offer crochet and knitting classes too. The 2 store owners were very welcoming and gracious in their attentions. I was given personal service and made to feel special. I ended up with Japanese brand yarn - noro that I previously could not afford. It was a wonderful experience. I was told they vary yarns from 4 different individual dye artists.
