The Blackened Cobia with plantains was outstanding--easily one of the best meals I've had in a long time. The rave reviews are well deserved. With a waterfront bar, marina views, outdoor dining, and a pier where you can feed fish and spot local wildlife, this place delivers the full Florida Keys experience. I had a very disappointing experience at this fish market. From the moment I walked in, the staff…read morecame across as rude, unwelcoming, and acted like helping customers was an inconvenience. Customer service goes a long way, and unfortunately it was completely lacking here. To make matters worse, I paid to have my fish filleted, but when I got home I found that the fillets were still full of bones. I understand that it's difficult to remove every single bone, but the amount left behind was excessive and showed a lack of care in the preparation. I chose this shop expecting quality seafood and professional service, but I left disappointed on both counts. Based on my experience, I won't be returning and cannot recommend it to others.

Before leaving we bought the whole black grouper he filet and even gave us the collar of the fish and how to cook it. Highly recommend this stop.

We were seated immediately, and there was plenty of indoor and outdoor seating overlooking a beautiful channel with boats constantly coming and going. I ordered the mahi mahi sandwich with sweet potato fries, served on a coconut bun, and it was quite possibly one of the best sandwiches I've ever eaten. Everything came out hot, fresh, and surprisingly fast. You could tell the food was made to order. The staff was genuinely friendly and never made us feel rushed, which made it easy to sit back and enjoy the view. The outdoor seating was fantastic and added so much to the experience. The restaurant is a little tucked away and can be easy to miss, but don't let that stop you--it is absolutely worth finding. We spent about $54 for two people, and considering the quality of the food, generous portions, service, and atmosphere, it was worth every penny. If you're in Key Largo looking for a great meal with a waterfront view, put Skippers Dockside on your list. We'll definitely be back.

Casual. Comfy atmosphere. Friendly staff…read more We started with the Conch House sampler and swapped out the jalapeños for more shrimp and fritters. The sampler comes with two conch fritters, two coconut shrimp, two bacon wrapped items (which we replaced), cracked conch, and lobster and conch ceviche. I have to say this while it's fresh in my mind. The moment I had the lobster and shrimp ceviche, I got chills. Just an incredible burst of flavor. Tiny bit of heat at the end but nothing overwhelming. Just really, really good. The conch fritters are solid too. Chewy, not over breaded, and served with two sauces. One is sweet and one is more of a mayo style. There's also something that eats like a conch curry puff situation. I liked the cracked conch better personally, but both are worth trying. The coconut shrimp is also really good. The sampler also comes with tortilla chips on the side. The lobster bisque is delicious. Great flavor with little chunks of what I'm pretty sure is lobster throughout. Nothing more to add really. It's just good. The mahi and avocado dish has a nice seared taste to it. Not flame broiled exactly, but that kind of grilled sear that you want on fish. The pico de gallo is similar to what came with the ceviche, and it works really well here. All in at $75.
