The build out and details like the window into the baking area are charming! If you appreciate beautiful packaging the boxes are gorgeous but must cost a bundle. We tried a number of items the signature item, Brewster Bun, blueberry danish, cheese danish, pistachio croissant, and a few cookies for good measure! I have enjoyed Eat Cake 4 Breakfast for many years. I expect a wait, and am familiar with the long lines that can form and the need to arrive early or things might run out. Today my experience was such that I won't be going back for a long while. There was only a couple of people in line outside the door when I arrived around 10am. But for some reason, they had "packed" the line so it snaked backwards from the door in front of the register (so people had trouble getting out) that was not visible from outside. I've been there many times, and typically that's not allowed (for good reason). An extra 10 minutes before I even got in. Service was remarkably slow, much more than usual. After waiting about a 1/2 hour to get to the front of the line, I was told that the Brewster buns that I had been waiting for and were visible from the line were not the regular Brewster buns but "strawberry", and they were out of the regular buns. I left. Would it have been so hard for someone to post something up front when they are out of something? Or, over the course of a half hour, make an announcement that there is no longer more of their signature item? I've been willing to put up with a wait and slow service because my family likes their stuff, but they've convinced me it's not worth it until they can improve their service. read more

I have frequented Eat Cake 4 Breakfast since prior to ownership change. I'll start by saying everything is amazing. From the cute cape vibes, the Brewster bun, the croissants, pies, sweets, all delicious! The staff is friendly. Unfortunately my experience this morning will have me questioning returning anytime soon. The line was just out the door (1 person) but I figured they would move fast as they have in the past. Boy was I wrong. I waited 30 minutes just to get to order. When I ordered, they had everything I wanted (yay! This relieved some of the annoyance) but when I got to pay (another 7 minutes) the person helping me then said that the item I wanted was none left. Funny thing is I watched the person behind me get 2 of what I ordered (nest egg with no bacon) (which he ordered because he heard me and said that sounds good I'll get that too!) my girl just didn't grab things I ordered. Once I got my 3 pastries that I waited 40 minutes for, almost still had to wait another 5 for my iced black Americano. I left annoyed but oh well, it is what it is on the cape on season. Then I got home to enjoy and she gave me the wrong item! I ordered a turkey Asiago croissant as a back up to the item I that ran out and instead found it to be a ham and Swiss one, which doesn't work when you don't want pork... All in all, 45 minutes of waiting for some delicious items (Brewster bun and sticky bun for others), and one that was unable to be enjoyed...but the service was unfortunately super slow and not worth it on season. Hopefully the new owners keep it open off season and maybe I'll try again then. Next time I'll triple check the order before I leave though since I wasted money here :( read more

Eat Cake has been a must-stop in the area for the past few years, and it still is under the new ownership! But the new Brewster Buns, the signature item, need an adjustment for sure. The exterior looks and feels the same as the old ones, but the interiors are falling flat. They've become closer to a cakey, bready middle than the croissant like interior before. I've been visiting regularly since the original business launched. This is still good, but not really at the same level so far. The Brewster bun used to peel apart due to the cinnamon sugar running through the middle. It has the same flavor, but it's just not as good of an eating experience. Probably won't get them again, unless they go back to the original technique. I was glad to see the Boston Cronut brought back. No real noticeable difference there - just slightly messier perhaps. I was excited to see the expanded drink menu. The matcha needs further refinement - the powder is not fully incorporated. The chocolate croissant was great. read more

The Nutella nautilus was my favorite, but the Brewster bun was a close second. Each item is a little pricey at $5-6 each, but it's well worth it. This is another hidden gem in Cape Cod. We live less than 2 minutes from this place and we only found out about them with a search engine. Hoping that whoever reads this review takes a chance at this amazing bakery with excellent pastries, desserts, Quiche and more. We had a Chocolate Pistachio Croissant and a Brewster Bun that looked like a Popover with Cinnamon and was crunchy and delicious. We went the next day for a Spinach and Feta Quiche and it was very spongy and soft and full of great flavors. The only feedback is that they do not have a place to warm the quiche. Not an issue for us, since we live close by, but others may have to eat at room temperature. We had a great time and looking forward to going back. read more

This bakery continues to blow me away! First of all it's Covid safe which means that every sanitary protocol is being followed, in a kind and courteous and efficient way. I never have to worry about people crowding around me or "is this place clean". It's just not an issue. Sometimes if I'm in a bit of a hurry I'll call ahead and place an order and I get there, and it's waiting for me and I just go to the cash register and pay after getting in the proper line it works out perfectly The food is sublime!! Love this bakery! It's off the main road hidden a little bit so you may miss it if you're not aware it exists. They have so many different options it's hard to choose! Must Try! Been coming to Brewster for years but only found it this year. Definitely get there a good 25-30m before opening since ppl stand in line way ahead of time.
