This place was exceptional. For coffee I would probably others nearby (however I would try another flavor) BUT their baked goods are EXQUISITE. We tried the Brewster roll, birthdays Brewster roll, everything croissant, bacon and cheese danish, based Alaska lemon Brewster roll- everything was SO soo good! I also love the Tiffany blue everything there and their decor. Will def return every time we're in the cape! Update: returned again today and had different coffee drinks. Had the heath bar iced latte and the pistachio chocolate croissant iced latte - both wonderful! Staff is so friendly just love the place! read more

Eat Cake 4 Breakfast is such a welcoming spot, with friendly service and a warm, inviting atmosphere. The Nest Egg with Bacon was delicious, and the maple sugar Brewster bun and almond croissant were both wonderfully flaky and buttery. Everything was fresh and satisfying, making it an easy place to enjoy a relaxed breakfast or treat. Great coffee too! read more

From the moment I pulled up I knew it was going to be a wonderful time at this delicious and charming bakery! I adored Danielle, who started the bakery with her mother Cindy always cheerfully chatting at the register, and I was apprehensive about going back after she sold the place. I was pleasantly surprised by meeting TJ and his sister who now own the shop and have all of the amazing recipes! They have added even more wonderfully delicious baked goods like the Cape dunes and cannoli's...everyone who works here are so kind and helpful, Fergie and Sarah and Nicole are some of my favorites. Thank you all for all of your hard work this summer season, have a wonderful time off...you guys certainly deserve to. read more

I have been a big fan of this bakery for years. I haven't been in the last two years, and finally went again this summer. I was really disappointed, the quality of the pastries has gone very downhill. The Brewster bun was still good, the croissant was incredibly dry, the blueberry Danish was flavorless, and the nest egg with bacon wasn't tasty either. Unfortunately I wouldn't recommend this place anymore. read more

This is the cutest place around! Tiffany blue & white and all the baked goods you could imagine!! I did not see any cakes so research that if you are looking for actual CAKE! The build out and details like the window into the baking area are charming! If you appreciate beautiful packaging the boxes are gorgeous but must cost a bundle. We tried a number of items the signature item, Brewster Bun, blueberry danish, cheese danish, pistachio croissant, and a few cookies for good measure! Nothing was overly sweet with the exception of the Brewster Bun but that was to be expected. There are a number of savory items available as well as quiche. The dessert case was filled with decadent options! Employees were friendly & helpful! I am adding a book recommendation to this review! I just finished The sweetness of forgetting which I picked up in Orleans at Annie's Books. It pairs nicely with this Bakery! read more

Stumbled upon this bakery as I was in the area and was pleasantly surprised! The brewster buns are really good! It's light and not heavy. Got a few other items as well but that stood out the most! Hubby went back the next day to get some more! read more

Very cute bakery with a huge selection and gets very busy in the summer (line out the door type of busy) so it's best to get there as early as you can. The boxes are Tiffany & Co. colored which is super cute and girl coded. All of the pastries are awesome. We got a wide variety and I can't say that we had any bad one, it was all good! read more

Amazing lemon meringue pastry. The savory pastries are really good too. Picked up a bunch of stuff here and brought it to Crosby beach. Nice patio to eat. Just be mindful of the long line. It moves but just be mindful. read more

Brewster Buns. Yummy. Light and fluffy on the inside and crisp, cinnamon sugary on the outside. I slice them up for a fabulous French toast, too! read more

I have enjoyed Eat Cake 4 Breakfast for many years. I expect a wait, and am familiar with the long lines that can form and the need to arrive early or things might run out. Today my experience was such that I won't be going back for a long while. There was only a couple of people in line outside the door when I arrived around 10am. But for some reason, they had "packed" the line so it snaked backwards from the door in front of the register (so people had trouble getting out) that was not visible from outside. I've been there many times, and typically that's not allowed (for good reason). An extra 10 minutes before I even got in. Service was remarkably slow, much more than usual. After waiting about a 1/2 hour to get to the front of the line, I was told that the Brewster buns that I had been waiting for and were visible from the line were not the regular Brewster buns but "strawberry", and they were out of the regular buns. I left. Would it have been so hard for someone to post something up front when they are out of something? Or, over the course of a half hour, make an announcement that there is no longer more of their signature item? I've been willing to put up with a wait and slow service because my family likes their stuff, but they've convinced me it's not worth it until they can improve their service. read more

I can't lie, the food is really good. However, while on vacation, when we saw a place called CAKE 4 breakfast we were gonna get some cake and eat for breakfast. Upon arrival, we were fully ready to indulge on some slices of cake, but did not see any cake on the menu. We were very disappointed since we were looking forward to cake for breakfast. For a place with cake in their name, I fully expect to see cake somewhere on the menu, so that is a disappointment for us. Though, like I said in the beginning the croissants that we purchased along with other pastries were very good. If you're looking to eat cake for breakfast, don't come here, but if you want pastries for breakfast this is the place. That's why I give this place 3.2 stars! read more

Blueberry danish is more of bread texture than croissant texture which I don't mind given the loads of blueberries included and you may want to heat up slightly. I have frequented Eat Cake 4 Breakfast since prior to ownership change. I'll start by saying everything is amazing. From the cute cape vibes, the Brewster bun, the croissants, pies, sweets, all delicious! The staff is friendly. Unfortunately my experience this morning will have me questioning returning anytime soon. The line was just out the door (1 person) but I figured they would move fast as they have in the past. Boy was I wrong. I waited 30 minutes just to get to order. When I ordered, they had everything I wanted (yay! This relieved some of the annoyance) but when I got to pay (another 7 minutes) the person helping me then said that the item I wanted was none left. Funny thing is I watched the person behind me get 2 of what I ordered (nest egg with no bacon) (which he ordered because he heard me and said that sounds good I'll get that too!) my girl just didn't grab things I ordered. Once I got my 3 pastries that I waited 40 minutes for, almost still had to wait another 5 for my iced black Americano. I left annoyed but oh well, it is what it is on the cape on season. Then I got home to enjoy and she gave me the wrong item! I ordered a turkey Asiago croissant as a back up to the item I that ran out and instead found it to be a ham and Swiss one, which doesn't work when you don't want pork... All in all, 45 minutes of waiting for some delicious items (Brewster bun and sticky bun for others), and one that was unable to be enjoyed...but the service was unfortunately super slow and not worth it on season. Hopefully the new owners keep it open off season and maybe I'll try again then. Next time I'll triple check the order before I leave though since I wasted money here :( read more

I bought a brewster bun and a chocolate croissant. the bun was nothing special but the croissant was terrible - stale. i called the bakery to report that the croissant was old (from the back rack) and the lady hung up on me. best croissants are from a french bakery near the duxbury marina. costco croissants are also much better than this place. read more

Eat Cake has been a must-stop in the area for the past few years, and it still is under the new ownership! But the new Brewster Buns, the signature item, need an adjustment for sure. The exterior looks and feels the same as the old ones, but the interiors are falling flat. They've become closer to a cakey, bready middle than the croissant like interior before. I will still be stopping in to try all the other items, which are still up to par (the New Yorker is still amazing), but I'll be missing the old Brewster Buns for sure. read more

I've been coming to Eat Cake 4 Breakfast for years. We came back the weekend after their grand re-opening and were just as pleased! The turkey asiago croissant was the best I've ever had there. Eye-popping, over-sized pastries that are stunning to look at, and packed up in pretty pale blue and white boxes. Yes, if you show up at rush hour there is a line out the door and it does not move quick. The space is light and airy. The service is pleasant. You order your pastries before you get to the register, and you order your coffee when you get to the register so there is a second wait for coffee. The "Brewster Bun" is a cute local delicacy - sort of croissant dough wrapped up like a large softball, and rolled in plenty of cinnamon sugar. Simple but addictive. Until you have tried one, you will not understand how anyone could pass on the stuffed cruffins, sticky buns, giant cookies and every flavor croissant, to just order 4 Brewster Buns. read more

Wow, just indescribably good and you should go there now if you're reading this, dear reader, because I live far away and absolutely would be there right now again if I could be. Get the Brewster buns -- which put morning buns everywhere else to shame -- and the cinnasant -- their cinnamon bun croissant with not too sweet cream cheese icing, both are freaking sublime. The quiche are absolutely incredible too, we like to get a couple for lunch/dinner later that day. read more

I've been visiting regularly since the original business launched. This is still good, but not really at the same level so far. The Brewster bun used to peel apart due to the cinnamon sugar running through the middle. It has the same flavor, but it's just not as good of an eating experience. Probably won't get them again, unless they go back to the original technique. I was glad to see the Boston Cronut brought back. No real noticeable difference there - just slightly messier perhaps. I was excited to see the expanded drink menu. The matcha needs further refinement - the powder is not fully incorporated. The chocolate croissant was great. read more

We stopped in for a quick breakfast, and wow. This is one of the best bakeries I've ever been to! Everything was so fresh and delicious. We ordered a bunch of different items - an almond croissant, a Brewster bun, a Cinnasant, a sticky bun and a Nutella nautilus. The Nutella nautilus was my favorite, but the Brewster bun was a close second. Each item is a little pricey at $5-6 each, but it's well worth it. Also highly recommend the cold brew, which gave us a much needed caffeine buzz. read more
