At her request, we put the dogs behind a gate in the living room. Evidently, they got excited and knocked the gate over and went and sat on my mothers bed (which they do daily). Is this aggressive behavior? So scary that you leave someone alone? When I called to complain, they pretty much said, too bad... This is no way to run a business. If this aide had such an issue with the dogs, she shouldn't have been given the job. We made it clear that the person had to be ok with dogs. It's irresponsible to put an aide in place that sort of likes dogs? This place not for us - bad placement guidelines

(I was a little skittish, because decades ago, we'd hired a caregiver through an agency for my late father-in-law, and despite the agency's screening procedures, she had stolen from him.) Amanda at FirstLight eased my concerns when I first met her, and my experience with the caregivers she supplied made a HUGE positive difference during the time my loved one had left. The aides were unfailingly caring and kind, concerned about his needs, and treated him with care and consideration.
