The campus is huge. Cleanliness is definitely a priority. All the staff is friendly. The care is great, very attentive to people's needs. They provide all kinds of care - independent living and assisted living. I recommend getting into independent living while you still can. read more

Not sure what happened. Older reviews are good. The independent living setup isn't great, but the apartments are very nice. Very long hallways have everything spread out, so some residents are very far from the central services. Like a quarter of a mile. I think that's because the facility used to be for manufacturing something. So to get to the dining area, mail area, nurses, it can be a very long walk for some. Moving into the assisted living wing has been very bad. I have trouble getting a call back sometimes. A "billing error" of several thousand dollars was corrected and refunded appropriately. The food is usually terrible, low-grade institutional food. The dining area is a widened area of the hallway, with assigned seats. Care is geared towards seriously disabled people and they seem incapable of tailoring what they do for different people in different situations. They are invasive, and treat the resident apartments more like hospital rooms than personal apartments. Construction noise is very common around the wing, with no recourse, nowhere else to go to get peace while the banging or power washing or whatever is going on. On several occasions, resident was instructed not to eat in the morning pending a blood draw, which would come to the apartment, and never showed up, no explanation. This is a person who gets hypoglycemic and crashes pretty hard without food, waiting and not eating for hours for a blood draw that never shows up. The staff largely will not make eye contact. They pulled a set of quality sheets out of the room and they vanished into the laundry service with zero accountability possible. Awakening residents several times a night with key fob beeping and opening the door, regardless of whether that is necessary for the resident or not. It took several requests to stop that. Many of the staff are odd, or unresponsive. Some are short with me, and others are flat-out rude every time I interact with them. Overall, I give the assisted living facility in particular a D. Some of the nurses are nice, and they do manage to deliver medications as required. But just about everything else is terrible. We are leaving. read more

I was impressed with Stonebridge at Montgomery when in 2013, I drove an elderly friend to visit a resident who lived there. Surrounded by preserved open space and beautiful landscaped grounds, the main entrance reminded me of a luxury hotel or a grand lodge - I wasn't sure we were at the right place. Stonebridge was simply unlike any senior citizen home I had ever seen before! Since that time, my husband and I have attended several events, taken a tour of three beautifully designed, well-appointed apartments and one gorgeous cottage, and met with a sales counselor. The benefits of living in a continuing care retirement community (CCRC) are numerous. Aging in a place where you are not a burden to your family is peace of mind. I can see us growing old peacefully while enjoying life to the fullest with all of the amenities and activities that are offered. Everything is taken care of, from weekly housekeeping to daily meals to home maintenance - that means you can expect to live not only comfortably but to live well. And having in-community access to health care, assisted living and memory care is great - it beats scrambling around to find a place at the worst possible moment. I love the people we've met during our visits - everyone is welcoming, helpful and excited about what they have to offer. There's no sales pressure and information is readily shared and explained. But perhaps the best indicator of how lovely Stonebridge at Montgomery is are its residents. We have consistently heard positive feedback from people we've talked to and everyone looks happy. We are pretty sure that Stonebridge is where we want to be! read more

Usually most people reserve 5 star reviews for things like restaurants with ethereal food, and places like Canyon Ranch and so you may wonder how a retirement community/assisted living/skilled nursing home gets 5 stars. 12 weeks ago my mom had a terrible accident and we knew she was going to move from Princeton Hospital to rehab and so we got a long list of places and started by asking all the nurses which ones they knew of and liked. Only two names came up over and over and Stonebridge was always one of the two. We picked Stonebridge (mom is in the rehab/skilled nursing unit) and my dad and I are so very glad that we picked them. I've made countless visits to see my mom and I now know the staff well and I can now explain how a place like this gets 5 stars. - They care about their residents. From the nurses, aids, supervisors, social workers, activities director, even the food service workers who know how my mom likes her coffee, and the physical therapists who are so patient, these folks care about my mom, and my mom isn't always easy to care for. - The vibe is good. I talk to a lot of the residents there, i'm even friends now with a couple of them one in the skilled nursing unit and one in assisted living and they're happy. They like it here. But by definition not everyone is going to like being in a place that isn't their home. And we would all probably like to have around the clock private nurses for our loved ones. If those two ideas are requirements for a 5 star review (or even a good review), then no facility in the country is going to get those stars or that good review. But if having a registered nurse who as part of her busy work day is willing to call me at home to ask a question or give me an update, that's a REAL 5 star moment. If having the supervisor for the entire floor (bless you Christina) personally go through trashcans with me that contain used "Depends" looking for my mom's missing hearing aid, that's worth 5 stars. When I watch an "Aid" hug my mom and tell her its going to be ok, i start to cry and that moment is worth 5 stars. Another review mentions "Lauren Kessler". She doesn't work there anymore and they have new management since that review was written. I know this because i asked. Lastly, the place is super clean, the food is good (I've eaten it), the staff seem to like their jobs, and if you have a pet at home, they can come visit you even in the skilled nursing unit. If I need a place in the future, i'm coming here. read more

I just wanted to write to share how helpful Director of Social Services Marissa Romanella was. I left my backpack with valuables in my grandmother's room while visiting. By the time I realized it I was three hours away. Because only on the east coast for one week, I needed the bag shipped overnight. My mother has been a resident of Stonebridge for 3.5 years. I cannot say enough good things about this senior living community. From our initial meeting with the sales team, to our two tours, to selection of mom's unit, to financing, to moving, to her transition, the staff here handled every single aspect with the very best service and compassion. One of the reasons I choose this place for her was the location - it is surrounded by acres and acres of fields, trees, and walking paths. You truly feel like you are out in the country. But, any kind of store or service is only 5-10 minutes away. Only 10 minutes from Princeton and 20 minutes from the Princeton Hospital. The on-campus medical center, physical therapy, and beauty salon makes life so very convenient. Again, the staff is first rate. No tipping is ever allowed, but every October they collect for an Employee Appreciation Fund that gives the employees holiday bonuses based on the hours they work and how long they have worked there. They suggest $75/month x the number of months you have lived here since January 1. So, about $900 if you have been there a full year. Very reasonable for the excellent service you get. They completely remodeled the building two years ago and it looks beautiful. The common areas are lovely and comfortable with big windows and lots of light. The nightly dinners in the dining room have full wait service, white tablecloths, the works, with many excellent choices for any palate each night. You feel like you are dining in an excellent restaurant every night! Their Sunday brunch is unsurpassed - excellent food and selection. Breakfast and lunch is served daily in the cafe. Monthly costs included one meal each day (most use it for dinner, it is a very social time) but you can buy all three meals and eat in or take to your own apt. They will deliver food to you when you are sic and can't leave your room. My mom has a lovely screened in porch with a screen door to a lovely courtyard. Very quite and secluded. She has a small garden plot where we plant flowers every spring. There are a wide variety of activities and art classes and exercise options every day, even a singing group. The grounds are beautifully manicured and a joy to walk through. When I moved mom in, we were offered a "Life Care" policy which is only available before they move in, payable by cash and is non refundable. For $60,000 (prob more now) we could purchase a guarantee that we would never have to pay more monthly fees than her independent living fee, even if she had to go to Assisted Living, Memory Care, or Skilled Nursing. Mom is moving in to Memory care this month after a long struggle with alzheimer's, and it will not cost us any more there than it did in her independent living apartment, as we purchased that policy. We are grateful we purchased the policy. There is very low turnover of staff, which tells me that Stonebridge us a desirable place to work. I highly recommend this community for any senior citizen or person looking for an excellent place to move their parent to. read more

Stonebridge is a well managed retirement home with independent living for active adults and heath care when needed. Our apartment is very nice and our building is surrounded by attractive landscaping with preserved open space beyond. The residents are friendly and interesting and the food is good. Lectures, concerts and discussion groups keep our minds active while the gym and pool help keep our bodies healthy. read more

Stonebridge is the cream of continuing care retirement communities in this area. The buildings are modern and attractive, the cottages are beautifully designed and wonderfully private, yet within easy reach of the main building. The dining room is expertly managed and the food is very good by any standards. Any residents who wish to be involved in the community have many committees they can serve on and many activities and courses they can enjoy every day of the week. On the other hand, residents who prefer privacy and a quiet life are respected. Entertainments are excellent and there are always a few good movies to see and a weekly concert or lecture or other interesting presentation. A fitness center is available for everyone. If illness occurs our residents have a tripartite nursing facility on the grounds: assisted living apartments, a skilled nursing department, and a wing devoted to residents with memory difficulties. If one member of a couple needs to be in one of those facilities, their spouse, living in their apartment or cottage, can visit them every day with ease. But the most important quality of life at Stonebridge is that the entire community has a culture of kindness and caring which is expressed at all levels of staff and residents. I recommend Stonebridge to anyone looking for a place to fully enjoy retirement. read more

My parents lived at Stonebridge for over 10 years until their recent deaths. They did not want to leave their house prior to moving to Stonebridge, but in the end they were grateful they had, and appreciated what living at Stonebridge had done for them. It is very difficult to provide services to people as they approach end of life, and Stonebridge is not perfect, but i believe the organization and the staff do an overall excellent job. On my frequent visits, I was always impressed by how cheerful and upbeat the residents are, and by the generally upbeat atmosphere. The facility is well-maintained and relatively bright and cheerful-looking. The best thing about Stonebridge, though, is that there are some wonderful people working there. Not everyone, there are difficult people too, but there are quite a few incredibly dedicated, caring, and hard-working nurses, nurses' aides, food service workers, security people, and others, that I am very grateful to for the care they gave my parents. read more
