He was prompt, efficient, and super responsive by email. Best of all, it was clear he had actually read my initial request - there were no annoyingly redundant questions, no misunderstandings, everything was exactly right. He sent me updates on the progress of the job, so it was easy for me to coordinate with the person who was picking the forms up - and she raved to me about how great the job was and how wonderful Patrick had been. She has zero critical thinking skills and I surmise she has some kind of hold over this place as there have been so many complaints over the years about her, it's hard to imagine the reasons for not firing her. I have been going to this place 10+ years. Today out of nowhere she refused to hand me my mail, after she had yelled at me a few times about having my (10lb) dog inside the post office. I explained I had been coming there years and years, and there are ZERO signs posted outside on any of the doors, NOR inside the post office about no dogs being allowed, so I was simply not aware of this at all. Not only that, I bring my dog in there at least 3x per week and have chatted up different employees while holding him, and no one has ever said ANYTHING about this rule. Ever. I then picked up my tiny dog and stood patiently in line, explaining to her that I would be sure not bring him back; but, since there was no indication of this rule before today, I would just hold him in my arms until she could retrieve my package. She refused to serve me -- and she went out of her way to take great pleasure in it. Totally nasty personality. This is where the lack of professionalism and zero customer service comes in. All she had to do was point it out politely that I might not be aware of the rule and ask me to not bring him again and hand me my mail. I would have apologized and been more than happy to oblige. Instead, she chose to berate me in front of the entire Post Office, which was completely unnecessary. Considering especially that she is dead wrong on having signs anywhere about it. There aren't. Period. I will be filing a formal complaint against this wretched city employee, who is often cruel and demeaning to locals and spends most of her days yelling at people. That said, I have heard many times before that the manager there is not going to care or do anything about it, which is sad, especially since we have to pay for this service. The city of Ketchum does not deliver mail to our residences so we are all forced to deal with this horrible person every time we have to pick up mail. She is the worst type of small-minded gatekeeper, who prides herself on being nasty whenever possible. AVOID THIS PLACE if you can. Just shameful. She ruins what is so great about our community of Ketchum. On the way out, I checked again on all of the exterior and interior doors and walls -- there are absolutely no signs about animals, nor have I ever seen any. We were told we could purchase packing supplies located near the counter and pack up the items to ship. They do not pack. Not a problem. We purchased 4 boxes and packing tape to create 2 boxes with our own bubble wrap to pack the accessories for shipping. The Manager came out and proceeded to tell us for future reference, that they are not a pack and ship location and they have supplies available for purchase for their I'm assuming "local" clients. When I asked is there a problem with us purchasing and packing our items for shipping, he commented it's your opinion. What does that even mean. He reiterated for future reference. Have no fear, there will be no future visits to this location. I'm a huge FedEx fan and have been in many locations all across the country. They always have exemplary customer service. Today was very disappointing. With so many people across this country in such dire situations and in need of employment, this guy needs a serious attitude adjustment. I looked up the locations website while waiting for my plane to arrive and it stated a location to purchase packing supplies and shipping. If that's not the case, then update the website. Or your employee is misinformed. A true display of discrimination and ignorance. I've been in customer service related industries for over 30 years and found his discriminatory attitude unexceptionable and rude. The girl who processed the order was efficient. As a business owner, I needed some things postmarked 12/31/24 and figured since 12/31 is NOT a Federal Holiday they would be open to serve the public. So does the mail I put in the box get postmarked the 31st or is it just too bad? I would like an answer regarding this.
