Dear Easy Fix, I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the service provided to my Laptop. The laptop was brought to Easy Fix in Allston, MA for virus removal.  The representative specifically explained the laptop will go out to Framingham, MA for service, with a completion of three to four days. I called the business approximately one week later after not hearing from Easy Fix with an update. The representative stated they needed more time because the laptop is old.  From week two to three, I called a couple of times and went in person to inquire about a status. The representative recommended an upgrade to the laptop in which I agreed with the understanding documents on the hard drive were transferred to a pen drive, and a pen drive was dropped off at the business store.  I called on the fifth week to inquire about the status; the representative indicated that due to the laptop being old, it was not possible to upgrade, and the intended upgrade to the laptop took a very long time, not possible to upgrade. I said I understand but would like to pick up the laptop in Framingham. The representative stated the location in Framingham is not a place I could walk in and pick up the laptop.  At the end of fifth week, I was able to pick up the laptop at Easy Fix in Allston, MA. Unfortunately, at the opening of the laptop, the following two screens continuously populate; the first screen "preparing for automatic repair," followed by the second screen "your device ran into a problem and needs to restart.  We'll restart for you."  I powered off and, on the laptop several times, and the same two screens went into play again.  Additionally, the laptop was dropped on surface, there are cracks and pieces broken off.  Also, extremely visible, the laptop was opened where the hard drive is stored. I called Easy Fix to notify about the issue and provided photos; the business has not responded. When picking up the laptop, I paid for the service and walked away from Easy Fix with the understanding an upgrade was not possible. I didn't expect the laptop to be non-functional. Prior to handing the laptop to Easy Fix, the laptop was functional, I was able to access business and personal emails, internet, create and complete Excel, PowerPoint presentations, and type letters. read more

These guys are really great. They looked at my MacBook Pro and gave me an estimate for replacing the keyboard that was significantly less than from Apple Store. The repair was done in about 3 days and the laptop is now working perfectly! My only complaint is that it is impossible to contact these guys by phone. After I received my phone back I could no longer speak on the phone without it ending the call or muting the call. I thought my phone was just getting older and decided it wasn't a big deal. They tried to fix my battery. Introduced a new problem. I go back and they say it's all good we will replace it for free bc it's under warranty still. Then they fix it and try to charge me 40 bucks and say the problem is that I use a wireless charger sometimes ?!? The phone is designed to be used with it. I went there to fix the screen on the One Plus phone. They "fixed" it, and when I went home discovered the screen became hypersensitive and I could not use my phone. I went back, and they "fixed" again. It worked at first at the store, I went home and again discovered it was unusable. At this point, I was so frustrated and disappointed, and it was hard for me to get there (and very hard to find parking) so I just gave up. What a fantastic shop and experience! I have dealt with at least 5 other places that say they repair screens and they have done nothing but break something. I had sworn off anyone but Apple doing them. BUT... I was willing to give it one more shot, and went to Easy Fix. They did a great job and also were fast! I was there for 10-15 minutes for an iPhone 6 that looked like the screen had been blown up with a 20lbs sledge hammer. They have obviously done this quite a few time and did it right in front of me while talking and answering questions and charged me $60. They now offers a 90 day warranty. They also have a service where they will come to you to do it for $20. I will definitely be telling people about Easy Fix, and they are opening another location in Cambridge soon! read more

Update 2 weeks later: One day, took my phone out of my bag and saw that the LED graphics were glitching and my screen had completely disconnected from my phone except a few wires. Immediately after the new iPhone 6 screen, my phone would freeze about 4 times a day and I would have to restart it. 6 days after my screen cracked from pressure, I did not drop it and the line straight across like the screen was too big for the phone. DO NOT GO HERE TLDR: Fake low-quality screens, no warranty once you leave the store despite them saying 6 months, staff really rude. I had a problem with my iPhone 10 and I went there to get it repaired, they diagnosed the problem and told me that I had to get the screen repaired and they charged me 150 $ for that and told me that I have a 6 months warranty. I noticed some issues that the screen was registering phantom touches, so I went to them and they are now telling me to get my motherboard repaired and asking for more money. The salesperson at the shop was extremely rude and told me straight away that it was none of his problem that my screen is not working now, 2 days later after I got it changed from them. Do not trust the other reviews because they tell you they will give you a discount if you give them a good review on the spot. Additionally, the screen they replace is of extremely low quality. Seems like what they are trying to do is importing low-quality third party, parts charging a premium for them and once the customer is out of the shop its not their problem. These guys are honest! My phone died due to water damage. I took it to Easy Fix in Allston, and because it had severe damage, they had to order several parts. In the end, there was no hope for my phone. They spent some time on it and they did not charge me for the diagnoses, etc. If other people complain about charges, I think the basic fee they quote is for minor repairs. So first things first, all the signs and ads say $40 but it costs $70 to get your screen repaired, which is pretty sketchy. They use low quality screens and you can see that the colors are off and the resolution is lower right away. On top of that the screen starts to become unresponsive and jittery after not too long. He claims to do free replacements if there are defects but it's bullshit, mine stopped working and not long after I brought it back in. When I came to pick it up hour later he then refused and made me pay to get my phone back from him. Sketchy all around definitely don't recommend. read more

He changed nothing, only cleaned inside the phone and charged me $43. It was working fine in store, so I was happy that my phone is fixed, took it back home and after 3 days again same problem!! No charging! I took it again to store and he said maybe the problem is battery!! MAYBE!! He even wasn't sure about the exact issue!! Sadly,I trusted him, and let him to replace the battery. MISTAKE!
