Solid matcha that I would get again if in the area. The workers were kind and service was speedy. I enjoyed the woody, quaint ambiance of the inside of the cafe.
The Coconut Coffee Cloud was light, balanced and refreshing. The foam and coconut flakes on top added a nice texture to this drink. The barista was very attentive and answered my questions regarding the menu. This place is very large with plenty of seating and looks like a cool hangout or a place to work on your laptop. Definitely coming back to try the matcha.
First time here, new matcha lover. Seriously so tasty here, I got the cloud matcha. It wasn't watered down at all and had amazing umami flavor. I believe they use Nami Matcha, long line goes by fairly quickly, lovely hangout spot with friends with a cozy chill ambiance. They also have cool mugs and little knick knacks for purchase if you're interested in their merch along with other small brands.
**August 2026: Sunday Afternoon Visit** My friend and I needed a spot with good Wi‑Fi to do some trip planning while we were in San Diego. He found Easy Does It, so we decided to check it out. The space felt like a college campus and library combined. It's really big, with lots of tables and chairs, but nothing felt cramped. There were cozy seating areas and even some couches, so it was easy to settle in for a while and was definitely the kind of place where people can chat, study, or work on their laptops. The vibe was perfect for what we needed, and the AC was blasting. There are two gender‑neutral bathrooms and plenty of parking, which was a nice bonus. I ordered the Matcha Cloud and swapped in oat milk. We found a spot to work at the back of the house. Honestly, this place is huge and a great spot to do work. For space and vibe, I'd give it 4 stars. My drink didn't taste memorable or like something I'd order again, but I think if I'm in the area I might be open to trying a different beverage. Overall, I'd give this place about 3.5 stars.
Wow! If you are pretty particular about your matcha like I am, I would say that this is the place to go to! This might be my new favorite place for matcha in San Diego. If you are familiar with the Orange County cafe scene, this place feels like it can be one of those coffee shops based off the interior design, good quality of food and drinks, merchandise, overall ambiance, and more. The food and drinks I got were really delicious! There are a lot of spaces to study in the cafe with ports to charge your electronics and Wi-Fi. The service is great as well. If you are looking for something else to do after visiting the cafe, there is FotoOp, a cute photo-booth experience with a lot of different backgrounds!
Hugeee fan of easy does it- not only for the drinks, but just the vibes inside and community! Plenty of tables and natural lighting, it's the perfect place to study, work, or catch up with a friend. All the workers are really nice and helpful. They serve coffees, matchas, hojichas, and even wines! The hojicha was perfectly brewed and not too sweet. Will definitely be back here again!
I've been here a few times and never got to writing a review. I recommend this cafe for their matchas and other drinks. This time I got a Passionfruit matcha tonic. It was really refreshing and the two flavors blended really well together. Service was fast. I went on a Monday afternoon and there was no line. The cashier was really friendly and nice. My drink came out in less than five minutes. This is a really cute and quiet place to study. There's plenty of indoor seating. It's not too loud so it is a good place to study at. There is a little Mac computer by the entrance where you can take a photo. Parking can be a little bit tricky. Some spots are limited time with the green curb. I had to go around once or twice to find parking. Overall, I recommend this place and I would come back.
The matcha cloud is very good! The matcha powder has an amazing taste to it and they put perfect amount of sweetener! I also tried decaf cappuccino and the espresso has good taste too. Glad to see the business thrive because they definitely are good at what they do!
Super cute matcha place. This space is pretty big and I had came for a mahjong event. They have really cool decor on the store and looks like a really cool event place. I bet there is plenty of space to hang out during normal hours. Staff was super friendly and the drinks were good too. I came kind of late and got a non caffinated tea. Parking is pretty big but during the event time I'll was lucky to find a spot.
I've heard so many people love this place and I get the hype. The roast is perfect for their honey cinnamon latte. It's not overly sweet to where you still get to taste the coffee. The staff is friendly and were patient with the questions I did have. There were quite a few people with laptops working there. We came on a weekday and it was quite enough to work. There is plenty of seating inside and outside. If you're looking for a place to work from and have coffee this is your spot!
It is a TRAVESTY... that I haven't yet written about the coffee shop I've dedicated my life to over the past year, because... well, like I said, you will always find me here! OVERVIEW Come for the equally balanced, delicious coffee AND matcha drinks; the spacious work setting; the side entertainment (like a free bookshelf + camp chairs outside), and incredible ownership. Be prepared for hard parking during peak hours (lunchtime) and possible lack of seats (especially during schooltime). DRINKS It is RARE to find a shop whose matcha is on par with its coffee; normally, one is better than the other. Easy Does It, or EDI as we affectionately call it, is pro at BOTH. With coffee served from Provecho, matcha from Nami and hojicha from Paru??? You just hit a trifecta of GOOD good. Our Typical Order: 1) Iced Earl Grey Latte - omg, I LOVE the earthiness that the earl grey syrup brings to the matcha. Matcha, to me, is either too grassy or too sweet; the earl grey syrup makes it a perfectly earthy balance. 2) Honey Cinnamon Latte - how good could a standard coffee shop latte be, you ask? They have the HCL at almost every shop, and it's not usually standout. EDI, again, blew expectations wide open. Their HCL is balanced: sweet without being saccharine; and you can actually taste the cinnamon. 3) Hojicha Latte, Hot - omg, there was a time when I ordered almost one of these A DAY. Again, another sleeper - if you like the taste of coffee but can't take the caffeine (for a late night drink, perhaps), a hojicha is a good choice. It has that grounded taste that coffee gives, and the hot version of it is like a HUG for your mouth and stomach. They also have cool inventive flavors like the Matcha Cloud, the Coconut Cream Cloud (which is a coffee cloud on top of coconut water, I hear it's refreshing), so you'll never get tired of the drinks they have here. I also want to mention that they do serve wine and beer, too... so there's something for everyone! FOOD Spend any time in a coffee shop and know... you're gonna get hungry! Thankfully, EDI has open-faced bagel sandwiches AND pastries here, all of which look mighty tasty; all of which I cannot partake in, since I am gluten free. But ohhh, gluten warriors unite! Thanks to the partnership that is Jacob of Made for Mei Mei Mochi (aka the protein mochi) and Easy Does It, you'll have your PICK of 5 different flavors of homemade, chewy, ooey, DELICIOUS MOCHI -- SANS added sugars and preservatives you normally find in the store. I'm telling you, I don't normally like mochi (it tends to be so sweet) but I love the texture. And Made for Mei Mei hits it all! Flavors include: 1) chocolate hazelnut -- which tastes like Ferrer Rocher, yum 2) ube 3) green tea / red bean 4) black sesame 5) pb&j (yes, he's stocked peanut butter & jelly, a fan-demanded flavor) My favorites are #1 and #4; sometimes I go for #2 and #5 to mix it up. Either way, I spend WAY too much on these tiny li'l treats I might as well become an early investor. AMBIENCE This place is perfect for computer work as light doesn't directly fill the whole space. I like a li'l shade when I'm staring at a bright computer screen. There are two rooms: front and back; the back is a li'l darker and more chill vibes than the front. I also appreciate that they have a free bookshelf (just replenish it with your own!), plus a few magazines scattered around (for decoration, but I still browse). I miss when coffee shops had analog media, especially for when we don't want to be glued to our screens. EXTRA CREDIT Easy Does It also offers their shop as space for community events. From mahjong with No Ambition Tile Club to wine and jazz nights IN SUM THANK YOU Easy Does It ~ Grace, Nancy, the sister I haven't met, Eugenia, and the entire team ~ for creating a lovely third space where I can work, enjoy my snacks / drinks, meet friends and co-work, and have a great conversation. You make it so easy to feel welcomed, and I'll forever be grateful for you :)
A spacious, study cafe with plenty of seating and some wall outlets. Came on a Friday morning, and it's generally pretty quiet because everyone is on their laptops working on something. A lot of solo workers! I visited with a friend just to chat, and while there's music playing in the background, I'm sure people could hear us chat lol. The seating in the back of the store opens at 10am BTW; when I got here at 10am, 99% of the seating in the main room was full. I ordered the Matcha Earl Grey ($6.50), and it was OK. I got it half sweetened (the earl grey was just part of the sweetener) and less ice. I could taste the lingering matcha, but not the earl grey. Overall it was a bit watery. The workers are kind, and the cafe itself is very clean. Lowkey kind of dark with lots of window light. Free wifi with password info next to the cashier. I'd come again to work, seems like you can stay here a long time unlike other cafes. I wouldn't suggest coming here to catch up with a friend---unless you're quiet. :)
Was in the area and was craving a bagel. Thank goodness I stumbled upon this place because everything was yummy. The staff was attentive and knowledgable. Never had tonic matcha before. I got the matcha with passionfruit tonic. I've never had this before, but I'm glad I tried it. I got the smoky catch bagel and mushroom and got cheese empenada. Both were filling and flavorful. Would I come here again? Yes.

Each cup of matcha is individually hand whisk and matcha is nice and bright green. The yuzu passion fruit is sooo good and would highly recommend. The cafe is aesthetic and spacious, perfect for study sessions or meetings. read more
The space feels very open inside. The barista was quick and efficient. My favorite drink was the hojicha cloud with oat milk ($7.50). It tasted very rich and was perfectly balanced. I also got the matcha cloud with oat milk ($7.50), which was also tasty. Just a note that getting oat, almond, and lactose free milk is an additional $0.50. In the display, there were some pastries from Split Bake House. I decided to get the ham cheese croissant ($6) and butter croissant ($5). I liked the ham cheese croissant a bit more due to how flaky and filling it was. You can ask to get your pastry toasted, which I highly recommend. I enjoy this cafe, and it's a fantastic place to get some work done or meet up with friends while enjoying delicious tea, coffee, and pastries! read more
New spot in Kearny Mesa right off the 163. Finally gave this a try and it has potential but very milky. The milk to matcha ratio could be improved. There's no chalky taste, that's a plus. Sweetness was just right. I don't like overly sweet beverages so they got that part right. I got the matcha latte with oat milk and sweet cold foam. I will say that the cold foam was the best part. 3/5 because there was more milk to matcha taste, just need to perfect the milk to matcha ratio. The cafe itself has great space with lots of table and chairs to study or lounge. I personally couldn't study in a space with in and out traffic. They had low music playing in the background, good vibes and sweet staff. Plenty of parking in the plaza's lot. It's worth the try if you're curious and want to rate it yourself. They're new around town so I'll be back to give them another try. read more

Easy Does It is the perfect spot to study while sipping on a delicious latte! The cafe is very spacious with plenting of seating inside and some chairs available outside. Service was fast and there's free wifi available, so I was able to get a lot done in the hour it took me to enjoy my hojicha latte. The hojicha was so yummy! You could definitely taste the subtle roasty flavor of hojicha, rather than the drink being milk-dominated. I will definitely be back to get the hojicha but I also really want to try their matcha. From what I saw, their matcha looked super green which is something I look for as a matcha lover.. read more
New coffee shop - been around for a month or so. I did not like the matcha drink, so maybe their coffee is better. They didn't have cold brew. I also think their decor could be better. I could hear baby crying from a baby monitor in the kitchen. read more
Spacious cafe in the Anny's Burger shopping center. It was pretty busy on a weekday afternoon with lots of people studying & working & groups hanging out. They serve pastries, espresso drinks & speciality drinks such as tonics & matcha. Matcha Cloud: I told the barista I am partial to sweeter drinks & he suggested this one & made it sweeter. & it was delicious & creamy! read more
The matcha cloud is definitely the drink to get because the matcha tastes fineeee and considering how the baristas start making mixing the matcha with bamboo whiskey in a ceramic pot. Matcha tastes fresh and the servers are courteous. Inside the shop is quiet and I see small pockets of study groups or just people with their laptops either relaxing or studying. It is a perfect area for a study date. They also have a La Marzocco espresso machine. So they can pull espresso shots for you. read more

Spacious Matcha Cafe with work space Overall 4.5/5 Drinks: 4/5 - Yuzu Tonic 5/5 (reg sweetness) Delicious refreshing tonic, perfect for a warm summer day. Lightly sweetened with the perfect hint of citrus bitters - Matcha Latte 3.5/5 (unsweetened with almond milk) The matcha tasted high quality but mine was watery and a tad powdery. The almond milk may have played into this. They offer a few milk alternatives: almond (Califa Cafe), oat, lactose free (2%) Service: Service was wonderful, the cashier and barista were very nice. Lines can get very long mid-day but it moves fairly quickly. Ambiance: The interior is nice and spacious. The cafe has a few seating options and limited charging ports. Can get very busy on the weekend Parking: Decently large parking lot out front, fills up fast on weekends Overall: I would come back for the tonic series on a weekday read more

I came on an early morning and it was not busy at all so I can not speak to how it may get later in the day or on the weekends I got the cloud matcha and a monkey bread that looked very yummy in their pastry case, the matcha was very good and I really liked that it wasn't overly sweet and I could taste the integrity of the matcha. I really want to come back and try their hojicha latte and I like the different seating options they have inside as well! read more

Established by a group of friends, Easy Does It is a minimalist decorated style cafe with tons of indoor seating. It does seem like a spot people come visit to get some studying / work done as they do offer wifi and I saw several laptops here. I came by on a Monday morning for breakfast and there was no line, wait for my items was minimal, service was polite, and about 1/3 the tables were filled. Vanilla Chai drop scone 2.5/5, got this because it was supposed to be less sweet than the monkey bread but the chai icing was super sweet. The scone was soft inside and harder outside and I was unable to finish because of just how sweet this was, would definitely prefer a less sweet pastry in the future Matcha cloud w Almond milk 3.5/5, not bad but I do wish there was more matcha compared to milk ratio wise and that giant ice cubes weren't used which limited the sheer amount of actual drink present read more
Been hearing a lot about this place and heard they served Nami matcha which is my favorite! They also serve tins in store as well. I got the hojicha cloud and got less sweet. The server was nice and gave us insight on the different matcha drinks. There's plenty of spots to sit and study, but I heard it can get pretty packed. They recently just opened up the back side of the cafe too! read more
Found out about Easy Does It on Tiktok! They are new and in their soft launch era. The space was huge which made it accessible for people to stay and do work or homework. We got three different drinks: matcha passionfruit tonic, hojicha cloud, and matcha latte. The tonic was very interesting, never had a matcha + tonic before. I don't know if I can say I'm a big fan. You taste more of the tonic and passionfruit than the matcha in the drink. The hojicha cloud, however, was a crowd favorite. It was tasty and rich in flavor. The matcha latte was okay in my opinion. You can taste the clumps and it had a bitter aftertaste as well. Overall, really glad we got to check it out! Loved the smiskis all around the cafe haha read more
Wanted to visit this spot after hearing the rave reviews of their matcha. The inside was packed, but there were plenty of seats to sit at. A lot of people do stay here and study. Decor was minimalist and clean. The matcha we ordered came out quick, and was delicious. Glad we have this spot here to enjoy. read more
What a cute cozy and clean place. So glad I was able to try this place. The service was amazing. The man behind the counter was super sweet and patient. This is such a chill place to meet friends. The matcha here is delicious probably one of the best place I've had. Thank you Easy Does It for your hospitality and great matcha. I will definitely be back. read more

This place is sooo delicious! We ordered the matcha cloud latte since it looked super popular. The matcha has a strong nutty/tea flavor and the cream made it super creamy. Our favorite was actually the coconut cloud latte which is made with coconut water rather than milk with chunks of coconut flakes in it- even though it's made with coconut water it's actually super creamy from the cream top!! Loved the consistency and the flavor. There's also a lot of seats and pretty spacious inside for studying. There's also some chairs outside seating. read more

Solid spot. The vanilla cold foam is among one of the best I've had, but the matcha quality was just okay unfortunately. I would stop by if I was around the area but wouldn't go out of my way to come here. I should add I'm a matcha connoisseur so I am extremely picky about it. I love how spacious it is though. Great for big groups! read more
* ~ { Best matcha in SD } ~ * Super spacious! Lots of parking! Free wifi! The line was a little long but it moved quickly and the drinks came out pretty fast! Definitely had authentic matcha! Tried their matcha and hojicha latte, both of which tasted very fresh and authentic. The hojicha had a nice smoky taste. The space was nice and open, plenty of space to study together. Friendly staff and great service! read more
Today was our second visit to try more matcha drinks! The vibe is chill and laid back, plenty of seatings and there were lots of people studying. We enjoyed their drinks both visit and we can't wait to come back and try more! The pastries were also yummy, we liked that they weren't overly sweet. The service is quick, even on busy weekends they pump out the drinks pretty quick. One of the cashier took our order for egg tart not knowing it was out of stock, but they were super sweet and had us just pick any other pastries we wanted in place of it. read more
Great cozy but minimalistic coffee shop that just opened right off the exit of the Clairemont Mesa Blvd. Currently it is their soft opening. They were ready to serve everything off of the menu so far when I came. My choice was a matcha cloud latte. It comes with sea salt foam on top and there was only one size. It was more on the bitter side, however, they provide simple syrup on the side to adjust to your liking which I appreciate. The matcha taste didn't have too much of a nutty taste, it was more floral tasting from what I can remember! Cute stickers were free to snatch and there was limited seating with a big table near the register, a couch, and a few extra small ones. It is rather spacious and I could see the cafe already having crowds during peak hours! The cafe is simple and cute if you're looking for an aesthetic cafe that meets your matcha and coffee needs! read more

[August 2025] Reminds me very much of LA cafes with its drink menu and aesthetics with minimalist decor. Their highlights are either the matcha or hojicha lattes. I got the matcha cloud latte. I liked the drink a lot as it was very matcha forward and not too sweet where most of the sweetness was coming from the foam cap which was balanced with the saltiness. Overall, I really like this drink and the vibes. Tons of parking available and seemed to be good for WFH with good number of seats and benches. Definitely a welcomed staple to SD read more

A cute and minimal matcha spot nestled in a plaza in Kearny Mesa! I ordered my drink and got my free froggy sticker at the register. I came by on an afternoon weekday and lots of people were in the shop hanging out or studying. They have a large space, but not as many seats as you would expect. Their menu is just as simple as their decor, they have basic espresso drinks and specialty drinks with matcha, hojicha, and tonics. I tried a matcha with oat milk, and I will say it is high quality and soo much better than other basic coffee shops. I do see that they whisk the matcha powder and measure out the simple syrup, which is a step up from other shops since other shops might not use actual matcha powder. It does have a typical grassy matcha taste and doesn't come super sweet. They do have additional simple syrup on the counter so you can adjust the sweetness to your liking. My friend got a cloud (salted cream cap), which looks very rich and would add additional creaminess to the drink. Overall, this is a great spot for matcha, I'll be sure to stop by whenever I'm in the area! read more

Very good coffee and menu variety. The place is pretty busy and there's always a line despite it being still newly opened. Will come again! read more
I stopped in here for a coffee and a snack. I decided on a cortado and the ham and cheese croissant for $6.00. If I remember correctly, the cortado was $4.75. The cortado came served in a proper gibraltar glass, which was good. They use Provecho coffee roast, and local roaster, which is nice to see. The cortado was good upfront but had a sour after taste, that I did not much care for. When I was asked how I liked tgw cortado, I mention the sourness, and was essentially told that you either get sour or bitter when you order a cortado. I wholeheartedly disagree with that comment. I've had literally hundreds upon hundreds of cortado in San Diego from different coffeeshops and roasters, and bitterness nor sourness was in question. They have been smooth and rich from start to finish with with a nice nutiness and overtones of dark chocolate. I think their cortado can be improved. Make sure the espresso machine is cleaned out daily. Also, they need to set up, as soon as possible, the heating element they plan to use to heat up the baked goods and pastries. The ham and cheese croissant was a little rough eating cold. Three service was good. They gentlemen who took my order was friendly and helpful. They offer a good amount of inside seating ans some chairs outside as well read more

This quickly became our regular spot to sit down and get some work done for a few hours to break up the weekday. The owners are wonderful and so kind - they frequently check in with customers to ask for feedback and walk around to help people find seating since it's incredibly packed most times. The ambiance is a clean, modern and bustling with folks working or having coffee meetups and their new food selection is great! We tried their new tomato bagel and one order with two halves topped with cream cheese, heirloom tomatoes, dill, and lemon/black pepper was enough for my whole lunch. Delicious and so tasty, loving the new menu items read more

I came here around 10:30a on August 2nd Saturday with a friend. It wasn't too busy, maybe 2-3 parties ahead of us. The location is airy yet cozy with industrial minimalist vibes. I liked how there was plenty of space between tables and furniture so it didn't feel crowded. My matcha cloud was delicious, and for $7 with the salted cream cap, a good deal. My friend really enjoyed his yuzu espresso tonic, he's a bit particular since some places skip on the yuzu and yuzu flavor. If there's no line, would definitely stop by again! read more

Been meaning to try this place, though I was a bit skeptic too considering how hyped it is. Glad we went anyway because their einspanners are delicious! A new place to add to my matcha rotation for sure. The matcha is freshly whisked and the creme was not too sweet. The hojicha one was also good! Definitely try it if you want something with more roasted notes. I also want to highlight the corn tart which was very tasty and it was similar to the one I recently tried in Seoul. Although kind of steep for $7- it was as expensive as the drinks. Huge space with plenty of seating, can get busy but we didn't wait for long. Price point of drinks isn't bad! read more

Okay... I'm officially ruined for all other matcha. This is it. The absolute best matcha I've ever had and I've had a lot. Easy Does It is brand new and still in their soft opening, but you wouldn't know it from the crowd. The place was packed, line out the door, and I had to circle a few times to snag parking. Totally worth it. The matcha here isn't that pale, powdery, "is this even real?" kind of green it's a rich, deep jade that tastes like fresh, high-quality Japanese matcha. Smooth, earthy, perfectly balanced... and the cold foam top? Life-changing. I'm lactose intolerant and risked it, and somehow... no stomach issues. That alone deserves five stars. Despite the line moving a little slow, the staff was all smiles friendly, calm, and clearly happy to be serving a full house. It felt good to be in a place where the energy matched the hype. I'm already plotting my next visit... honestly, I could drink this every damn day! P.S. If I could add one tiny wish? I'd love to see some cute anime or kawaii art on the walls it would fit the vibe perfectly and make sipping matcha here feel so cozy ^__^ Oh yeah I'd also love if they can have a rewards program haha since I've been coming so much would be cool to get points !! & some Gluten free pastries hehe read more
Stopped by during their soft opening and this place was packed. Good for them! We were here around 10 on a Saturday. Line moved quickly and we didn't have to wait long for our drinks either. We got the yuzu espresso tonic and a latte with lactose free milk. I love that they have this option for us lactose intolerant people. Save me some lactaid. The yuzu espresso tonic was my favorite. It was super refreshing and the yuzu was a nice touch. I finished the drink so fast, I could have probably had a couple more. The latte was also very smooth. Lots of seating. Happy they have a parking lot but I imagine it could be hard to find parking during lunch. Got to come back to try some of their other drinks. read more

Super cute cafe in Kearny Mesa -- I spent my entire weekend in Pacific Beach, so coming here was a great change of pace. I'm a long time fan of Urmomashley (YT/IG) and I've never seen her matcha products set up in person so when I heard they were using her new Kana matcha we had to go. Lots of college students here there's definitely a cool vibe - servers were very kind and super efficient :) Only thing is that we went mid-day on a Sunday, and there was extremely limited parking. There are lots of business located in the same complex that are mostly food and services, so they were pretty packed as well. We ended up parking on the back street behind the store and walked through a side alley to reach the cafe. Matcha was rich, flavorful, and had a great ratio of matcha to milk -- we enjoyed our drinks on the camping chairs they have setup right outside of the cafe. read more
Came by on a pretty quiet Sunday morning and was pleasantly surprised at the already bustling shop. The cafe is very spacious with plenty of tables and seats to work at. As soon as I ordered my drink and sat down for a couple of minutes, a line started to form and reached past the door. Could definitely see why, as my drink was very good with a nice depth of matcha flavors (Ordered a Matcha Cloud with Oat Milk). Will definitely be coming back, maybe with a book or laptop to get some work done next time. A cute spacious coffee shop, and I can't wait to see how they'll grow! I love the origin behind the store and the friends who came together to open it. I came during the soft opening and ordered a matcha cloud. It definitely could have had a stronger matcha flavor, and I wished the sweetener was mixed in more, as the bottom of my drink was sweet enough, but the top was not. However these things are understandable since they're still in the soft opening phase and were training their employees. I would definitely come back again in a little bit to see how their drinks improve! I actually stopped by on a Sunday morning, but the line was so long (around 20 people), and I had to leave since I was short on time. I came back on a Tuesday morning and it was much more empty, and my drink was made quickly. read more
