I stopped in here for a coffee and a snack. I decided on a cortado and the ham and cheese croissant for $6.00. If I remember correctly, the cortado was $4.75. The cortado came served in a proper gibraltar glass, which was good. They use Provecho coffee roast, and local roaster, which is nice to see. The cortado was good upfront but had a sour after taste, that I did not much care for. When I was asked how I liked tgw cortado, I mention the sourness, and was essentially told that you either get sour or bitter when you order a cortado. I wholeheartedly disagree with that comment. I've had literally hundreds upon hundreds of cortado in San Diego from different coffeeshops and roasters, and bitterness nor sourness was in question. They have been smooth and rich from start to finish with with a nice nutiness and overtones of dark chocolate. I think their cortado can be improved. Make sure the espresso machine is cleaned out daily. Also, they need to set up, as soon as possible, the heating element they plan to use to heat up the baked goods and pastries. The ham and cheese croissant was a little rough eating cold. Three service was good. They gentlemen who took my order was friendly and helpful. This quickly became our regular spot to sit down and get some work done for a few hours to break up the weekday. The owners are wonderful and so kind - they frequently check in with customers to ask for feedback and walk around to help people find seating since it's incredibly packed most times. The ambiance is a clean, modern and bustling with folks working or having coffee meetups and their new food selection is great! We tried their new tomato bagel and one order with two halves topped with cream cheese, heirloom tomatoes, dill, and lemon/black pepper was enough for my whole lunch. Cute cafe with plenty of seating. We got the matcha cloud and the hojicha latte. I like the salted cream on top, but the drink quality is nothing to rave about. Both the matcha and hojicha taste pretty diluted. Cup size is small, around 12oz instead of the standard 16oz. The matcha scene in SD hasn't impressed me so far. Stopped by during their soft opening and this place was packed. Good for them! We were here around 10 on a Saturday. Line moved quickly and we didn't have to wait long for our drinks either. We got the yuzu espresso tonic and a latte with lactose free milk. I love that they have this option for us lactose intolerant people. Save me some lactaid. The yuzu espresso tonic was my favorite. It was super refreshing and the yuzu was a nice touch. I finished the drink so fast, I could have probably had a couple more. The latte was also very smooth. Lots of seating. Came by on a pretty quiet Sunday morning and was pleasantly surprised at the already bustling shop. The cafe is very spacious with plenty of tables and seats to work at. As soon as I ordered my drink and sat down for a couple of minutes, a line started to form and reached past the door. It definitely could have had a stronger matcha flavor, and I wished the sweetener was mixed in more, as the bottom of my drink was sweet enough, but the top was not. However these things are understandable since they're still in the soft opening phase and were training their employees. I would definitely come back again in a little bit to see how their drinks improve! Amazing to find a place in SD with hojicha! I love hojicha (more than matcha) and sometimes it can be hard to find cafes that have hojicha drinks. I got a hojicha cloud with less of the cloud cream foam and it was great and I could still taste the hojicha flavor which is what I was worried about. I also liked that it wasn't too sweet. My friend got the yuzu espresso tonic and she loved it! I tried and it was very refreshing and delicious. I liked that the drinks were hand whisked. Went in on a rainy Saturday and it was very busy, the line was long and took a while to get our drinks. The place is located in a plaza with plenty of parking. Very spacious with many tables and chairs. We ordered a unsweetened iced matcha latte with oat milk and a hot vanilla latte with oat milk. They offer hot options since my boyfriend wanted a hot coffee on a rainy day but we weren't sure if they offered it since all the yelp pictures were all cold drinks. One of my new favorite go to places to get matcha~ This place is located in a plaza with ample parking either in the plaza or behind the building where there is street parking. Been here a couple times to try different drinks and I think mostly everything I've had has been really good quality. Came on weekend again and it is always super packed with people studying. So don't expect to find a table for you and a friend. There wasn't a long line and I ordered the coconut cloud coffee. It's something I haven't had before and it was super creamy that you forget the base is coconut water. I tried to replicate but didn't come close. Gotta figure out the ingredients. I've had the matcha and it has a great balance of sweet & mellowness. For me I would like to add more sweetness which they can do. The place is huge and open space concept. Service is nice. This was my second time at Easy Does It, but my first time trying their matcha and WOW! I got the matcha cloud and the salted foam that comes on top was to die for. It was the perfect combo of salty and sweet and almost fulfilled the same taste that a salt rim on a margarita would. Safe to say that I loved it. I also got the matcha as is and it was the perfect amount of sweetness. It was only lightly sweetened with maple syrup and it allowed the earthy matcha flavor to shine. I was able to snag a table for two in the afternoon, but it was pretty busy so be prepared to hunt for a spot to sit if you come later in the day. Luckily it's summer so i didn't mind. The drink was made in a timely manner as there were only a couple people ahead of me at the time so it wasn't bad at all. There two people working knew what they were doing. The decor was very simple and clearly all from IKEA. I usually come here to during lunch on weekdays. I love the interior and the minimalistic vibes! I've been wanting to work here but the tables are always filled out whenever I came. The workers are always so welcoming and nice! I tried the Hojicha Cloud and Matcha Cloud this past week. I found it quite interesting that the cloud is basically a sea salt cream, which is different from usual einspanner creams. I highly recommend the Hojicha Cloud! The sea salt cream works pretty well with the dark nutty flavor of hojicha and the drink is very fragrant. The Matcha Cloud had a decent matcha flavor but didn't pair well with the sea salt. I personally love the bitterness of matcha, and I think the Matcha Cloud was overly creamy and tasted more like a sweet matcha smoothie with the addition of sea salt. I've been coming here pretty regularly and I'll start by saying the drinks are consistently good--fresh, well-made, and definitely the reason I keep coming back. That said, the service this last visit really left a bad impression. I usually tip every time I come here, but this time I didn't and I noticeably waited longer for my drink than usual. 2 people working and no one was attending to my drink. It felt like I was being treated differently because of that which honestly didn't sit right with me.
