Wasn't here that long, but still a very cute cafe. When I stopped by, lots of studiers filled the tables. The aesthetic and branding makes the space feel inviting, with lots to peruse. I like the lighting and use of decorative lamps. The projector menu is surprisingly crisp and easy to see, even with the slight shadow occasionally as they're taking orders or making drinks. The Mia-Mor was good, but I wish it had more of the earl grey flavor than the lavender. Still strong drink choice if you like floral flavors overall!
Delicious drinks made well. It's hard to find hojicha, and they do it well! Their matcha drinks are also very good. Kind of expensive, but their prices are pretty comparable to other cafes in San Diego. The space is pretty cool with a variety of seating options. Love that this can also be used as an event space for different types of crowds and activities.
Parking lot: spacious lot Interior: very big area to hang out. There's tons of tables and chairs. Tons of people that hang out. Nice vibe. People come here to study. Drinks: Passion fruit tonic expresso, Mia mor latte, sweet rice oolong ice tea. Nice and refreshing. From clovery (pop up in store): spam masubi focaccia, pumpkin bread, earl grey scone London fog, Christmas cookie.
Solid matcha that I would get again if in the area. The workers were kind and service was speedy. I enjoyed the woody, quaint ambiance of the inside of the cafe.
**August 2026: Sunday Afternoon Visit** My friend and I needed a spot with good Wi‑Fi to do some trip planning while we were in San Diego. He found Easy Does It, so we decided to check it out. The space felt like a college campus and library combined. It's really big, with lots of tables and chairs, but nothing felt cramped. There were cozy seating areas and even some couches, so it was easy to settle in for a while and was definitely the kind of place where people can chat, study, or work on their laptops. The vibe was perfect for what we needed, and the AC was blasting. There are two gender‑neutral bathrooms and plenty of parking, which was a nice bonus. I ordered the Matcha Cloud and swapped in oat milk. We found a spot to work at the back of the house. Honestly, this place is huge and a great spot to do work. For space and vibe, I'd give it 4 stars. My drink didn't taste memorable or like something I'd order again, but I think if I'm in the area I might be open to trying a different beverage. Overall, I'd give this place about 3.5 stars.
The Coconut Coffee Cloud was light, balanced and refreshing. The foam and coconut flakes on top added a nice texture to this drink. The barista was very attentive and answered my questions regarding the menu. This place is very large with plenty of seating and looks like a cool hangout or a place to work on your laptop. Definitely coming back to try the matcha.
Wow! If you are pretty particular about your matcha like I am, I would say that this is the place to go to! This might be my new favorite place for matcha in San Diego. If you are familiar with the Orange County cafe scene, this place feels like it can be one of those coffee shops based off the interior design, good quality of food and drinks, merchandise, overall ambiance, and more. The food and drinks I got were really delicious! There are a lot of spaces to study in the cafe with ports to charge your electronics and Wi-Fi. The service is great as well. If you are looking for something else to do after visiting the cafe, there is FotoOp, a cute photo-booth experience with a lot of different backgrounds!
Hugeee fan of easy does it- not only for the drinks, but just the vibes inside and community! Plenty of tables and natural lighting, it's the perfect place to study, work, or catch up with a friend. All the workers are really nice and helpful. They serve coffees, matchas, hojichas, and even wines! The hojicha was perfectly brewed and not too sweet. Will definitely be back here again!
I've been here a few times and never got to writing a review. I recommend this cafe for their matchas and other drinks. This time I got a Passionfruit matcha tonic. It was really refreshing and the two flavors blended really well together. Service was fast. I went on a Monday afternoon and there was no line. The cashier was really friendly and nice. My drink came out in less than five minutes. This is a really cute and quiet place to study. There's plenty of indoor seating. It's not too loud so it is a good place to study at. There is a little Mac computer by the entrance where you can take a photo. Parking can be a little bit tricky. Some spots are limited time with the green curb. I had to go around once or twice to find parking. Overall, I recommend this place and I would come back.
First time here, new matcha lover. Seriously so tasty here, I got the cloud matcha. It wasn't watered down at all and had amazing umami flavor. I believe they use Nami Matcha, long line goes by fairly quickly, lovely hangout spot with friends with a cozy chill ambiance. They also have cool mugs and little knick knacks for purchase if you're interested in their merch along with other small brands.
Super cute matcha place. This space is pretty big and I had came for a mahjong event. They have really cool decor on the store and looks like a really cool event place. I bet there is plenty of space to hang out during normal hours. Staff was super friendly and the drinks were good too. I came kind of late and got a non caffinated tea. Parking is pretty big but during the event time I'll was lucky to find a spot.
A spacious, study cafe with plenty of seating and some wall outlets. Came on a Friday morning, and it's generally pretty quiet because everyone is on their laptops working on something. A lot of solo workers! I visited with a friend just to chat, and while there's music playing in the background, I'm sure people could hear us chat lol. The seating in the back of the store opens at 10am BTW; when I got here at 10am, 99% of the seating in the main room was full. I ordered the Matcha Earl Grey ($6.50), and it was OK. I got it half sweetened (the earl grey was just part of the sweetener) and less ice. I could taste the lingering matcha, but not the earl grey. Overall it was a bit watery. The workers are kind, and the cafe itself is very clean. Lowkey kind of dark with lots of window light. Free wifi with password info next to the cashier. I'd come again to work, seems like you can stay here a long time unlike other cafes. I wouldn't suggest coming here to catch up with a friend---unless you're quiet. :)
It is a TRAVESTY... that I haven't yet written about the coffee shop I've dedicated my life to over the past year, because... well, like I said, you will always find me here! OVERVIEW Come for the equally balanced, delicious coffee AND matcha drinks; the spacious work setting; the side entertainment (like a free bookshelf + camp chairs outside), and incredible ownership. Be prepared for hard parking during peak hours (lunchtime) and possible lack of seats (especially during schooltime). DRINKS It is RARE to find a shop whose matcha is on par with its coffee; normally, one is better than the other. Easy Does It, or EDI as we affectionately call it, is pro at BOTH. With coffee served from Provecho, matcha from Nami and hojicha from Paru??? You just hit a trifecta of GOOD good. Our Typical Order: 1) Iced Earl Grey Latte - omg, I LOVE the earthiness that the earl grey syrup brings to the matcha. Matcha, to me, is either too grassy or too sweet; the earl grey syrup makes it a perfectly earthy balance. 2) Honey Cinnamon Latte - how good could a standard coffee shop latte be, you ask? They have the HCL at almost every shop, and it's not usually standout. EDI, again, blew expectations wide open. Their HCL is balanced: sweet without being saccharine; and you can actually taste the cinnamon. 3) Hojicha Latte, Hot - omg, there was a time when I ordered almost one of these A DAY. Again, another sleeper - if you like the taste of coffee but can't take the caffeine (for a late night drink, perhaps), a hojicha is a good choice. It has that grounded taste that coffee gives, and the hot version of it is like a HUG for your mouth and stomach. They also have cool inventive flavors like the Matcha Cloud, the Coconut Cream Cloud (which is a coffee cloud on top of coconut water, I hear it's refreshing), so you'll never get tired of the drinks they have here. I also want to mention that they do serve wine and beer, too... so there's something for everyone! FOOD Spend any time in a coffee shop and know... you're gonna get hungry! Thankfully, EDI has open-faced bagel sandwiches AND pastries here, all of which look mighty tasty; all of which I cannot partake in, since I am gluten free. But ohhh, gluten warriors unite! Thanks to the partnership that is Jacob of Made for Mei Mei Mochi (aka the protein mochi) and Easy Does It, you'll have your PICK of 5 different flavors of homemade, chewy, ooey, DELICIOUS MOCHI -- SANS added sugars and preservatives you normally find in the store. I'm telling you, I don't normally like mochi (it tends to be so sweet) but I love the texture. And Made for Mei Mei hits it all! Flavors include: 1) chocolate hazelnut -- which tastes like Ferrer Rocher, yum 2) ube 3) green tea / red bean 4) black sesame 5) pb&j (yes, he's stocked peanut butter & jelly, a fan-demanded flavor) My favorites are #1 and #4; sometimes I go for #2 and #5 to mix it up. Either way, I spend WAY too much on these tiny li'l treats I might as well become an early investor. AMBIENCE This place is perfect for computer work as light doesn't directly fill the whole space. I like a li'l shade when I'm staring at a bright computer screen. There are two rooms: front and back; the back is a li'l darker and more chill vibes than the front. I also appreciate that they have a free bookshelf (just replenish it with your own!), plus a few magazines scattered around (for decoration, but I still browse). I miss when coffee shops had analog media, especially for when we don't want to be glued to our screens. EXTRA CREDIT Easy Does It also offers their shop as space for community events. From mahjong with No Ambition Tile Club to wine and jazz nights IN SUM THANK YOU Easy Does It ~ Grace, Nancy, the sister I haven't met, Eugenia, and the entire team ~ for creating a lovely third space where I can work, enjoy my snacks / drinks, meet friends and co-work, and have a great conversation. You make it so easy to feel welcomed, and I'll forever be grateful for you :)
A cute spacious coffee shop, and I can't wait to see how they'll grow! I love the origin behind the store and the friends who came together to open it. I came during the soft opening and ordered a matcha cloud. It definitely could have had a stronger matcha flavor, and I wished the sweetener was mixed in more, as the bottom of my drink was sweet enough, but the top was not. However these things are understandable since they're still in the soft opening phase and were training their employees. I would definitely come back again in a little bit to see how their drinks improve! I actually stopped by on a Sunday morning, but the line was so long (around 20 people), and I had to leave since I was short on time. I came back on a Tuesday morning and it was much more empty, and my drink was made quickly. read more

Super cute cafe in Kearny Mesa -- I spent my entire weekend in Pacific Beach, so coming here was a great change of pace. I'm a long time fan of Urmomashley (YT/IG) and I've never seen her matcha products set up in person so when I heard they were using her new Kana matcha we had to go. Lots of college students here there's definitely a cool vibe - servers were very kind and super efficient :) Only thing is that we went mid-day on a Sunday, and there was extremely limited parking. There are lots of business located in the same complex that are mostly food and services, so they were pretty packed as well. We ended up parking on the back street behind the store and walked through a side alley to reach the cafe. Matcha was rich, flavorful, and had a great ratio of matcha to milk -- we enjoyed our drinks on the camping chairs they have setup right outside of the cafe. read more

Amazing to find a place in SD with hojicha! I love hojicha (more than matcha) and sometimes it can be hard to find cafes that have hojicha drinks. I got a hojicha cloud with less of the cloud cream foam and it was great and I could still taste the hojicha flavor which is what I was worried about. I also liked that it wasn't too sweet. My friend got the yuzu espresso tonic and she loved it! I tried and it was very refreshing and delicious. I liked that the drinks were hand whisked. I was concerned that it would take a while for my drink to be prepared but it came out quicker than expected even though the cafe was pretty busy. Overall, I loved this cafe. The drinks were very good and service was quick. All of the drinks on the menu looked awesome and I definitely want to come back to try them all soon! read more

I've been to a lot of coffee spots around San Diego, and Easy Does It is easily my favorite right now. The bean selection here is top notch. You can tell they actually care about sourcing and rotating interesting coffees, not just the usual lineup. Every visit feels like there's something new to try, and the quality in the cup backs it up. The space is massive too, way bigger than most restaurants in the area. It never feels cramped, even when it's busy. Super comfortable whether you're hanging out, getting work done, or just dialing in on a good cup. Also, the merch is wild in the best way. Didn't expect to see Patagonia branded sardines at a coffee shop, but here we are. It somehow fits the vibe perfectly. Pro tip: there's a hidden area in the back that's way more quiet and relaxed. If you're trying to get away from the main crowd or just want a more low key experience, that's the move. Staff is always friendly, drinks are consistently on point, and the whole place just feels dialed. This is one of those spots you keep coming back to without even thinking about it. read more
ABSOLUTELY love the minimalist culture and decor here. The menu is simple; and the story behind the brand is inspiring. 4 besties with a vision of opening a coffee shop. Though the menu is simple at the moment, the coffee and tea is sourced locally. I love the chicory in the coffee drinks. A simple Vanilla Latte w/ Oat milk and I enjoyed every sip of it. The space is VERY big. Supports team meetings, community seating, or even private single seating along the front of the space. read more
I am currently on my hojicha hunt after drinking too many Matchas. We got the iced cinnamon honey coffee and hot hojicha latte. They are both excellent. I didn't even add sugar or anything into my hojicha latte and it taste perfect! Very strong taste of hojicha (usually it's pretty watered down). I The cinnamon coffee is very good and not too sweet either. I would come back to try other drinks! read more
Went in on a rainy Saturday and it was very busy, the line was long and took a while to get our drinks. The place is located in a plaza with plenty of parking. Very spacious with many tables and chairs. We ordered a unsweetened iced matcha latte with oat milk and a hot vanilla latte with oat milk. They offer hot options since my boyfriend wanted a hot coffee on a rainy day but we weren't sure if they offered it since all the yelp pictures were all cold drinks. We did try to call them but they didn't answer since they are super busy. We were going to get my matcha and go somewhere else to get a hot latte for him somewhere else, but glad they offered! His vanilla latte was very good. There is a good hint of sweetness but still has a strong coffee taste (not watered down or overpowering by milk). My matcha was very deep in color which I like and it has the perfect ratio of milk and matcha. I can taste how strong the matcha but the only thing that was a bit thrown off to me was a bit grainy and not smooth. Overall this place is not bad, their serving size is smaller but definitely coming back to try their hojicha latte. read more

Easy does it is a cute cafe with a minimalistic vibe. This would be a great place to have a drink and get some work done. There's plenty of seating and lots of light. The service here is great as well, I ordered the matcha cloud and it came out in close to 5 minutes. The matcha here is fairly good compared to most places in San Diego. The cup is kind of small though. I am not sure if they have a bigger size but I would love to get that next time if they do. I enjoyed the foam but my matcha was slightly astringent/bitter. I would recommend trying the drink first and adding syrup if needed which they provide on the side. Overall, easy does it is a cute place to try if you like a small matcha that is less sweet. read more

Same coffee you can get everywhere else. Pastries weren't that great. Gingerbread cookie was super stale, jalapeno galette was mushy, had no jalapeno taste. Corn tart and scallion scone was probably the only 2 best things they offered. read more

Matcha was yummy, but very basic. The cafe was very cute and had a lot of people studying in there. We didn't interact much with workers since they were kind of busy but they were still helpful in helping us order! read more
This was my second time at Easy Does It, but my first time trying their matcha and WOW! I got the matcha cloud and the salted foam that comes on top was to die for. It was the perfect combo of salty and sweet and almost fulfilled the same taste that a salt rim on a margarita would. Safe to say that I loved it. I also got the matcha as is and it was the perfect amount of sweetness. It was only lightly sweetened with maple syrup and it allowed the earthy matcha flavor to shine. I was able to snag a table for two in the afternoon, but it was pretty busy so be prepared to hunt for a spot to sit if you come later in the day. They also had some Christmas decor up and a little thrift corner which added a cozy feel to cafe. read more

I was really excited to try this matcha spot because I saw they use Nami Matcha. I've been curious about it for a while, especially since the tins are pretty expensive, so I had high expectations. Unfortunately, I left disappointed. The matcha tasted very watery and flavorless. It lacked the depth, richness, and complexity that I was expecting, and there wasn't anything particularly memorable or special about it. I ordered the Earl Grey Matcha, but it honestly didn't taste like Earl Grey at all. It tasted like a plain matcha, to the point where I had to double-check the label sticker to make sure I received the correct drink. I was expecting some noticeable bergamot or tea flavor, but there was none. It felt like I paid extra for a flavor that wasn't there. Also, it was almost all ice and no matcha. I took a few sips and it was all gone. My boyfriend ordered the hojicha, and while it wasn't bad, it didn't stand out either. It tasted like a standard hojicha latte that you could get at many other places. I was excited to finally try Nami's matcha in a drink before committing to buying a tin myself, but the drinks fell flat and didn't live up to the hype. read more
i got the matcha cloud, and it was decent. it satisfied my matcha need for the day, but i think the matcha flavor could've been stronger. the interior is really spacious! this would make for a great work/study spot. their matcha was still good, but i just think im more particular about mine read more

Not bad. The drink menu is simple and they've got some pastries. The hojicha latte is served cold with ice - i don't know if there was a hot option because they didn't ask. Luckily it's summer so i didn't mind. The drink was made in a timely manner as there were only a couple people ahead of me at the time so it wasn't bad at all. There two people working knew what they were doing. The decor was very simple and clearly all from IKEA. I know this is only their soft opening but i hope they will eventually add more decor and maybe more to that frog theme. Right now it looks like a small coffee bar in a big warehouse room. I will definitely return to check it out again read more
Happy to see another coffee shop in the area! There aren't many true coffee shops with good espresso in the area. I ordered a cappuccino early in the morning before work. Service was great and fast. They use Provecho coffee beans, which is one of my favorites. Cappuccino was solid, perfectly balanced! I didn't try the teas, but will another time. This is a spacious place, great to study and chill. Very chill laidback atmosphere. They also have baked goods. read more

I usually come here to during lunch on weekdays. I love the interior and the minimalistic vibes! I've been wanting to work here but the tables are always filled out whenever I came. The workers are always so welcoming and nice! I tried the Hojicha Cloud and Matcha Cloud this past week. I found it quite interesting that the cloud is basically a sea salt cream, which is different from usual einspanner creams. I highly recommend the Hojicha Cloud! The sea salt cream works pretty well with the dark nutty flavor of hojicha and the drink is very fragrant. The Matcha Cloud had a decent matcha flavor but didn't pair well with the sea salt. I personally love the bitterness of matcha, and I think the Matcha Cloud was overly creamy and tasted more like a sweet matcha smoothie with the addition of sea salt. I would come here again for the hojicha though. It's a great place to study or chill, but wish there's more seating. Love the ambiance! read more

Honestly not bad. Matcha with cloud top had good matcha flavor but the cloud top felt a bit lacking. I think it could use a little more flavor rather than just tasting "milky" Overall, would come again but wouldn't go out of my way too. read more
Service could definitely be improved. The staff seemed distracted and not particularly friendly. I ordered a latte and a cinnamon roll--the roll was good, but the latte was underwhelming. I also asked for a "for here" cup and was told they didn't have any, even though I could clearly see them stacked, which was confusing. Not sure if I'd come back to give it another try. read more
Great new spot for hanging out, studying, or stopping by for a drink by Convoy! There's plenty of space and it's an open concept. They're currently in their soft opening phase - I recommend picking up a drink here and then eating at Pho Duyen Mai after. :) My favorite drinks so far have been the hojicha latte with a cream top and the yuzu espresso tonic. Service is really friendly and parking is available in a private lot. Definitely recommend checking them out! read more

Cute cafe with plenty of seating. We got the matcha cloud and the hojicha latte. I like the salted cream on top, but the drink quality is nothing to rave about. Both the matcha and hojicha taste pretty diluted. Cup size is small, around 12oz instead of the standard 16oz. The matcha scene in SD hasn't impressed me so far. I'll probably come back with my friends for the ambiance, but not for the drink itself. read more
Such a large establishment for a small matcha shop but really cool place to study, work or just catch up with friends. The matcha cloud was good, very creamy with a hint of sweetness. The matcha was more on the earthy side but very refreshing on this hot day. Cool spot to go to in Kearny Mesa. Would recommend to those who want a good matcha latte. read more

I've been to Easy Does It a few times and I can say that they service superb drinks! I do wish they serve two different drink sizes. I tried their iced hojicha latte this time and 100/10! Yum! It was also my first time trying the matcha passionfruit, it wasn't bad, I think I just like my matcha drinks with milk instead of a refresher. Overall, they earned a loyal customer over here! read more
Upon arriving, it felt cozy and warm inside as if I was in someone's living room. Staff was super sweet and service was great. We ordered the matcha cloud and hojicha cloud. Drinks were delicious! I think I prefer the hojicha more though. I spotted the brand nami matcha and will be back to purchase the hojicha hehe. Hopefully they get the matcha back in stock too. I'm glad SD has yet another cafe where people can study or hang out at :) read more

Overall Rating: 6/10 To be straightforward, the matcha drinks at Easy Does It are a bit of a letdown. The matcha flavor is very light, almost completely overpowered by any milk or syrup included in the drink. The hot matcha latte with oat milk, essentially tasted like green oat milk with sweetener, as the oat milk completely overpowers the already subtle matcha. However, the environment is very spacious and great for studying, especially since they don't play loud music like most cafes. Overall, it's a nice spot, but the drinks aren't worth a second visit for me. read more
Easy Does It Café knows how to do matcha right! I ordered the matcha cloud and it was perfectly sweetened, smooth, and delicious. No clumps in sight thanks to their thorough whisking.
