Large scales

Eastside has a great collection of larger scale equipment. I was impressed by the cases of N Scale coming through the door. I would have liked to see more scratch building equipment and detail parts. This store is great if you want to buy some locomotives or rolling stock, but lacks if you are into modeling.

Clean and neat store but the downside is I did almost get attacked by their unleashed dog which I'm not cool with. It came zooming up and circling my ankles aggressively making me worried I might accidentally step on his paw so I had to stay frozen until the owner came to take it away. I'm normally fine with dogs but not this one, and that just made me want to leave the store immediately after only looking around at two shelves. Will just buy online, will not be back.

Spokane Portland & Seattle RR in O Scale.

Eastside Trains is an iconic model train store, probably one of best train stores on the West Coast. They have every gauge (size) of model trains and represent most manufacturers. The store is not a budget children's store of toys. The items sold at Eastside Trains are "mostly" for serious train modelers. Today's model trains are sooooo realistic in sound, performance, and appearance that if videoed it's difficult to determine if it's a model or the real thing. Eastside Trains has that caliber of model trains. In summary Eastside Trains has high end model trains, an outstanding service center, and a very large selection of all the model train parts and pieces to build a complete model train layout.

This big kid never wants to leave and wants to buy everything. Our son likes it here too!

The top model train store in the northwest. Great selection and knowledgeable, friendly staff. Always visit there when I travel to Seattle!

This is a much smaller store than their other locations and the two workers did not greet me when I came in but I noticed that they greeted everyone else who came in after me- that always feels kind of icky, especially in a store as small as this one. I encourage these folks to try and greet all customers and engage them, it makes the experience feel so much more welcoming.

Their slime station is a hit and very fun to play with and with all the mix ins, the kids had a blast. Throughout the entire time, Wren was close by offering help and being SUPER kind about any messes that we made (we picked up but Wren was willing to do so too!) and offering suggestions on how to make the slime how the kids wanted it. With a world dominated by computers and AI, save yourself and go to a local shop....SNAPDOODLE is amazing! Go see Wren and SHOP LOCAL!!! Thank you Wren

We managed to hurry past it on the way to lunch, but I knew there was no way we were getting back to the ferry without going inside. Not with a two-year-old, a five-year-old, and my mother in our crew. To our kids' credit, I wanted to get them a souvenir, or at least allow their grandma to buy them something small with my supervision (she can't be trusted on her own). The store was colorful and appealing, and I couldn't deny my boys the pleasure of a quick, moderate visit. Calico was well stocked with toys and games, and my two-year-old immediately went for a giant cement mixer set that would board the ferry out over my dead body. I told the kids and my mom that they could buy one toy each, and that it would have to be something we could easily take home. There was a large selection of stuffies at the front of the shop, and I strongly encouraged them to find something in that area. Our older son obligingly picked an adorable baby turtle, but his brother refused every little stuffie I offered. Instead, he found a cheap disposable pinwheel that cost $3.99. He's been obsessed with fans for about half of his life and apparently, the pinwheel counted. My brother and sister-in-law got a couple baby toys for their babies and we went on our way, all the kids happy with their loot. We've been home for over a week and the baby turtle, now named Baby Turtle, has a place of honor in our five-year-old's bed. The pinwheel pops up in random spots in our house, sometimes waved with aggression in front of our faces. I liked Calico Toy Shoppe and would definitely shop there if I lived on Bainbridge Island. I'd recommend stopping in if you're visiting with kids. It's a great place to pick up a little souvenir.

Sad that their Sleazy parking lords drive their customers away. It's unfortunate but Snapdoodle Leases from Piper Village and they hire Shamrock Parking LLC to rip off and lie to their own customers. This is a problem that only the management of Snapdoodle and Piper Village have the responsibility to resolve by being faithful to their own community. I literally don't know how you could enter this store and reliably not get a ticket. Stay away from this place in general.
