I did not get the juice today and maybe that's where I went wrong. It was after noon on Sunday and they had bagel sandwiches on the menu so I opted for the New Yorker with no cream cheese and cheese instead- the girl behind the counter charged me for the bagel - 8.00 and I questioned that because the sandwich is over 9.00 so I clarified what I ordered and paid the difference. I watched her make the sandwich- she pulled the precooked bacon and egg from the cold table- oiled the panini grill and cooked it for less than a minute! What I got was an untoasted oily bagel which was flavorless with a cold precooked egg disc- again no flavor and raw- yep raw bacon and no cheese. It was not edible! I was trying to support a local venue but probably would have fared better at a fast food place. From the reviews the smoothies seem to be their primary business so maybe those are good but I won't be returning to find out after this experience- read more

We were passing through town and were really happy when we saw there was an organic juice bar! After being on the road a few days with limited options, Eastside Juice Bar really was a perfect little oasis. The smoothie was great (not too sweet and the fruit was nice and flavorful) and the green juice was nice and thick/they didn't skimp on the greens or ginger. The reviewer Chris B. obviously knows nothing about costing, because if he did he would know that the amount of organic fruits and vegetables that need to be put into a juice or smoothie are REALLY expensive. My favorite part of his review was this line: "If other businesses can figure out a way to serve drinks for under $5, this business can as well." Not all businesses have the same product, genius. If Eastside Juice Bar brought their prices down they would have to add tons of ice to their shakes and use strictly non-organic produce. I work in the industry (I kind of hate when people pull that line to denote authority, but I just want to underline my point), and this is how it is. This is what organic juices and smoothies cost. Healthy treat if you can find them open. That in a moment. First, who pays $6.75 for a smoothie, I thought to myself. Then shelled out 7.50 with tip just for the experience and to support a local business (that's not just another new Mexican food restaurant). Very pleasantly surprised! I like smoothies, but I can live without smoothies too...I thought. Not true, I'm hooked, there's got to be drugs in the smoothies made with dates. I don't care how much they cost, I'm addicted. Raise the price a dollar, I don't care. Now onto their hours. Simply stated they aren't open on Sunday!!! What business serving feel good food is not open on a Sunday? The answer is there's not one example in the civilized world. Don't know if it's a religious thing, or the owners want to go climbing, or they've run out of ingredients, but there is absolutely no valid reason to not churn out blended drinks on Sunday, a day of leisure for the masses. I'd make a pitch for staying open in the evening for an after dinner treat, but that's probably pushing it. PS: I like the groovy incense shop that's attached. Smells good, and has fun things that you will not find elsewhere between Palmdale and Mammoth. I visit when I'm waiting for my drink. PS (note to owner): please be open on Sunday. read more

Healthy food in Bishop?? Say what?! Eastside Juice so nice, I stopped twice! Seriously. First stop was for a green juice before heading up to Convict Lake, and man was it refreshing! Not too sweet from the apples, but just enough to not have an overwhelming "green" taste. I should have asked for a bit of ice because my juice was warm within minutes, but that's just a side note. Second stop was for acai bowls for the way home. They have a great variety of bowls. We settled on the tropical, and the Mount Whitney. They were both great, the acai stayed thick, and they definitely are not stingy on toppings! Lots of superfoods going on here, which makes this my kind of place! Best place to eat in Bishop! Don't hesitate to stop! My husband and I always struggle to find good healthy food when come out of the backcountry on the 395. We are so glad we tried this place today, we only wish we had stopped sooner. All the food we ordered was fantastic and the smoothie delicious. Everything was fresh and made to order. There are excellent vegan options as well. As we are usually looking for a full meal, it being advertised as a juice bar had made us not try this place before, but the food was fantastic and incredibly satisfying. They're really great too. Service is always friendly. Worth a plus up on the tip. Everything is made when you order. So can take an extra few minutes, but it is well worth it. My first choice for lunch was BBQ so I wasn't too excited going into this shop, but I was outvoted so I ate here. However, I liked it enough I came back the next day. The cashier tried to back pedal when I called him out on it and refunded me saying it was set up automatically and tried to blame the owner.
