Last night I ordered the chicken teriyaki, the chicken fried rice and a wonton soup. I really enjoyed the chicken teriyaki. This is the first time in a long time that I have found a restaurant that cooked this dish just right. The chicken was tender and juicy and covered ( coated) with a yummy teriyaki sauce. The chicken had not marinated in the sauce, it was white; not brown or red, and it was cooked just the right amount; not dried out like some other restaurants. This was take out; and we will order again. Very good! read more

The restroom was dirty, and I strongly recommend checking it before deciding to eat here--or anywhere else, as a general rule of thumb. Based on taste alone, I would rate the food 3 stars, though the fried rice was disappointing. The lack of consistent bathroom sanitation is a concern. Additionally, while I was placing my order, the front counter staff answered two separate phone calls and took other orders, leaving me waiting even after standing in line. I understand it was the dinner rush, but the service still felt inattentive. read more

Eastern Carryout - Restroom - Chinese Near Me - Waldorf, Maryland

U need to do better, I went here to pick up lunch for me and my mom and the egg rolls were nasty, I had to throw them out. I got shrimp egg foo young. They gave me a kid size patties and a container of gravy. What happened to the gravy being on the patties together, the shrimp lo mein looks weird. I wasted my damn money, the only reason I didn't bring it back, it was already getting to hot out there but I won't be going back. Why is the egg rolls red on the inside, it's cabbage, carrots and shrimp and the shrimp lo mein was dry with salad shrimp. Definitely don't recommend read more

Hey , it's Chinese take out. I'm always a little happier when I can see the kitchen openly, and you can see the kitchen in this place. Some people can the difference between these take out spots. I often can't. I just want the place to be clean. It's your average Chinese takeout. I doubt you'll be disappointed as long as you're not hoping for fine cuisine. read more

The food is terrible, at least, what I bought. The shrimp was salad shrimp and the noodles were so dry that I had to add water to heat it up; it got worse. That was my second time eating there. I will not be going back. read more

On my quest to find good Chinese food in Waldorf this place has been the best so far. While the Kung Pao chicken was just average, lacking in seasoning and a bit overpowering in sauce, the Mongolian chicken was excellent! This was perhaps the second best I have had, and for that I give a strong 4 star rating. I will definitely retufor this dish! read more

My fiancé stopped by the other day for a quick bite. We tore into those wings quick, fast, and in a hurry... So much that I didn't get a chance to take decent pics. Maybe next time because there will definitely be a next time. The wings were well-seasoned and stayed piping hot, thanks to the foil-lined bag. __ I eat. @f.hux I thrift. @DCthriftish read more

I have been coming here for YEARS & while I normally get Chinese food, too, my last time I only got chicken wings & white rice, and I couldn't forget the mumbo sauce. This is my go-to when I come visit since I've moved out of the DC area. The sauce pairs perfect with the fried chicken & the white rice. It tastes the same every time. I washed my meal down with one of their large tubs of sweet tea. A guilty pleasure of mine. I only get this food once every 3 years so I enjoy it when I can. Always fresh food & kind employees. They still have their barrier from COVID up, but it seems to be working for them. Will be back! read more

Eastern Carryout - 6 Piece Wings and White Rice - Chinese Near Me - Waldorf, Maryland

From the time I saw the pink mumbo sauce I knew I wasn't going to like this place. The mumbo sauce was garbage. The chicken wings tasted a lil sweet. Like sugar was added to the seasoning. I am not a fan. Lastly the shrimp fried rice had no flavor at all. I'm a DC kid. I need my carryout to be on the 1000. I should have lowered my expectations once I seen how clean the inside was and how every light was lit outside. You know the carry out is going to be fire when there are a bunch of people hanging outside some of the lights don't work and it's dirty on the inside. Waldorf doesn't have a good carryout. I'm sticking to Top China in Ft. Washington or easterns in Accokeek #EatGoodAndBeHappy read more

Got the kung Pao chicken and egg drop soup . It was a little smaller portion for lunch but it was ok. The meal didn't have a lot of flavor and there wasn't a lot of gravy to go along with the dish. But it did fill me up. The egg drop wasn't piping hot like from every other place I get it from. read more

the rice was bland as E mothafucka im soo fucking mad it has me leaving a review. Helen Keller could have made fried rice better than that. I don't know about any else on their menu but stay away from the rice it will piss you off read more

My food was delivered and was left at my door without a knock or anything. An animal got into my food smh What was left from what the animal didn't get was nasty so I won't be ordering from here again and wouldn't recommend! I wish I took a picture of the torn bag at my door. read more

I stopped by one night and all I got was shrimp Lomein , which was pretty good hot and fresh and the shrimp egg rolls were very good not greasy at all . Since this was the only thing I got, I can't leave a decent review. I'll eat there again and add this review. So far this is how I feel. read more

This was really low class bullshit non-Chinese Chinese food the hot and sour soup was the weirdest crap I've ever tasted in my life nothing like real hot and sour soup did not have any of the traditional ingredients. The three entrées I ordered all had the exact same vegetables in them, and pretty much the same sauce with different proteins This place sucks butt. Yuck!!! read more

I am new to the area and was looking for a Chinese takeout place and this had some of the better reviews. Because I didn't have a menu, I decided to go inside to order instead of ordering on the phone like I normally would. The inside is not pretty at all but that's the standard for a lot of the Chinese takeout places I've been in. The lady at the front counter CLEARLY did not want to be there. She had zero customer service skills. No smiling. No pleasant voice. She seemed bothered and annoyed by me. But after looking at the menu quickly, I ordered. It didn't take too long for my food to come out. Once I got my food I looked in the bag and was disappointed because there were no chopsticks. So I asked the lady for chopsticks and again, she acted like I was inconveniencing her. But she gave me some. Once I got home I tried the food. I got the sesame chicken combo with white rice. Then got a side of vegetable lo mein and steak and cheese egg rolls. Everything was good and flavorful. I will definitely be going back next time I'm craving Chinese food. But now that I have their menu I will be ordering over the phone and doing a quick pick up to avoid dealing with the lackluster customer service as much as possible. Food was a 4/5. Customer service 1/5. read more

Came here for the second time because the food was so good !!! just to come back and watch the cook come outside and pick his nose , wipe it on the concrete and walk back in the kitchen to cook . Never washed his hands read more

Really nice friendly owner who is so patient to make sure your oder is taken correctly and made like you want it. I order something mot on the menu and they made it for me. Very good seafood soup loaded with seafood, freshest vegetables and tofu in a clear broth. So yummy and healthy. read more

Since moving to Waldorf about 2 years ago, I haven't really found my go-to-bomb-a$$-carry-out spot, butttt Eastern is overall okay. I placed a call ahead of time on a Friday evening for a General Tso's Chicken dinner with fried rice, a sm shrimp fried rice, sm hot and sour soup, lg chicken fried rice, and 3 egg rolls. The General Tso's was honestly the best to me. It came in one of those black plastic carry out containers with that opaque lid - both the chicken and fried rice - which caught me by surprise as I'm used to getting the black container filled with just General Tso's and broccoli while the fried rice is in a separate container. Other than the size of the meal catching me off guard, the chicken was surprisingly really good as well as the broccoli! The shrimp fried rice on the other hand was alright (I've had better) and the egg rolls weren't consistent taste wise. Two egg rolls tasted old while the other tasted a little fresher and was actually tastier than the first two I tried. It was almost like the first two were maybe made earlier (yuk!). In my friends order, the chicken in the chicken fried rice was literally white (see pics, no exaggeration!) and could've been cooked a lil longer for some color but other than that my friend said it was good. Oh and the hot and sour soup, also per my friend, was really good. She said it was nice and spicy. Overall, will I be returning to Eastern? I will - solely sticking to the General Tso's chicken and plain fried rice - and because they're literally like 5min from my house. read more

I think they have the best Chinese food around the Waldorf area. I love the general tso's chicken. It's still crispy with the sauce. I also love the Chicken lo mean. I tried the spring rolls which were tasty, they weren't too greasy. I also tried the cheesesteak egg roll and they were mediocre. I've actually had better elsewhere. But I will continue to go. I always call ahead to place an order and it's always ready when I get there. read more

The food from Eastern Carryout is always good. I think they have the best Chinese food in the Waldorf area. My only compliant for this order isn't for the establishment, but for GrubHub, who never picked up & delivered my order. I had to go get it myself. Even the restaurant worker was confused about why no one came to get it. On the plus side, my food was still hot & tasty despite GrubHub's snafu. If you order from Eastern Carryout, you won't be disappointed. My order: Beef & broccoli Chicken & broccoli Chicken lo mein Chicken fried rice Steak & cheese egg rolls read more

it was ok, nothing to rave about. Dumplings were haphazardly made, not impressed and to add insult to injury sauce was nothing but soy sauce (real bad) so I would stay away and the sesame chicken was like playing hide and seek with the chicken and I lost because and I found more breading then chicken. But the breading tasted good so it was more vegan then anything else. Doubt I will go back again. read more

I recently came from an asian neighborhood and wanted to try the chinese food around here. The food reminds me of the cooking that I ate back from my old neighborhood. The shrimp in lobster sauce and the moo goo gai pan in my opinion were amazing. It was very refreshing to eat in pair with the chicken wings and crab rangoon. The crab rangoon was on another level itself. During covid I have tried plenty of crab rangoons and this place definitely made it the best. I would definitely recommend it if you are in the neighborhood. read more

I had a taste for good Chinese food but since my I didn't have time to stop while in the hood or the city I gambled and tried finding a place here in Waldorf and stumbled across this place by looking it up on Yelp. Since it had great reviews and I was in a hurry I decided to try it.. I only got the shrimp fried rice and egg rolls. I figured I better be on the safe side since it was my first time here and besides how can you mess this up ?, I figured.. I think next time I return I'll try something different but overall I liked my meal and will return. Everyone was nice and I told the young lady at the counter that this was my first time here. She said to enjoy and to come back again and I will... read more

Violent food poisoning. Day 1. Ill keep yall posted. Ordered wing special and chicken chow main. Dont come here.

The chicken wings were good, General tsos chicken was fine and my husband liked his steak and cheese sub, as well. The shrimp fried rice was abysmal which sucks because that's what I had a taste for today. It was flavorless and the rice was chewy and dry. I highly doubt I'll order from this spot again: read more

Seriously, this place has the best Chinese food! I only eat here, never been disappointed.

I've always gotten good food from here! Good shrimp lo mein! Chicken wings & REAL authentic MUMBO sauce to die for!!!

Food is average!!! Cashier is rude!!! And I will never go back. Something don't feel right about this place and this was 2nd times eating there and figure I will give it another shot but just average food with no taste read more

This place is the bomb ! Chicken wings with mambo are fire . Customer service is excellent and the food is always fresh

Best Carryout in the southern Maryland! I've been going to this Carryout for about 6 years now. The staff is friendly and I've you become a regular when you call in your or m order or walk into the restaurant they automatically reneger you and what you order exactly how you like your order. The prices are reasonable. And you know exactly what your getting when you order. I get a verity of things. From the shrimp lo mein! Or the chicken and broccoli combination or the sweat and sour chicken combination. The Sesame chicken and generals chicken is also great. I unusually pick up a half and half one of the best in the DMV. Doesnt hurt to give this place a try the people I've referred here always tell me they had a great experience! Specifying your order will give you a better experience. read more

Eastern Carryout - Sweet and sour chicken combination with shrimp egg rolls and shrimp lo mein. With the best half and half in the DMV. - Chinese Near Me - Waldorf, Maryland

Sorry wrong Eastern. This one is great, the one by Wawa is terrible. The staff is friendly, food is good & portions are large.

Wanted to try something different from Jerry Yums and China Express and could really taste the difference! We were really impressed with the food at Easterns and have found a new go to spot. read more

Ok, I can't believe we've never tried this place before. They are literally right across the street from my home. I had a weird craving for Chinese food and in my search online, Easterns kept coming up with pretty good reviews. I called in an order for General Tsos chicken, Shrimp fried rice, Orange chicken, Beef with broccoli, and Spring rolls. I was pleasantly surprised!!! Everything was so good, the food was hot and fresh. The General Tsos was cooked perfectly, chicken was tender, the Shrimp fried rice was really good with plenty of shrimp. The Beef with broccoli was seasoned, the broccoli had the perfect crunch. Needless to say we'll definitely be back. This was some of the best Chinese food I've had other than Graces Mandarin in National Harbor. read more

This was my go to place for quick above average Chinese food, nothing great but decent. The last few times I have ordered pickup it has been terrible customer service and the level of food quality has been getting worse and worse. My last visit after calling in my order, I arrived to pick it up and the usually unpleasant, zero customer service female was doing her normal bad service. This time it was even worse, after ordering 45 minutes earlier, I stood at the counter for 10 minutes waiting for the female to even acknowledge I was there, then my order was not even started, she wanted me to re-order. I just turned and walked out. Tired of the poor customer service. Will not be order from here any longer. read more

I am a bit of a Chinese food connoisseur and this is the best Chinese food that we have had in Waldorf so far and I have been to all of the ones I can think of including Schezuan Garden which is overpriced for the quality. Eastern's food is consistent if nothing else and we love their buffalo wings and rib tips. The rice and hot and sour soup is also pretty good. Not a huge fan of lo mein, but overall just about everything is good. The biggest issue isn't really an issue at all, but they do cook the food when you order, so if you don't want to wait about 20 mins, call before you go. The folks inside are always nice though. This is my goto Chinese restaurant in Waldorf, best we have found so far. read more

Got the most generic item, kung pao chicken and shrimp but was not a fan. Shrimp was tiny and sauce had a weird taste. Chicken tasted old. Not sure if it was the bell peppers and mushroom that threw me off but i prefer the classic with just peanuts and chili. I liked their friendly service and MSG free menu. Would recommend getting something other than kung pao chicken read more

My family isn't a fan of this place. I actually came to write a review just to bookmark as a reminder not to return. My 12 year old daughter had wings and fries and asked if she could throw the wings away after asking me to smell them because they "tasted different and smelled funny". After examining them, I agreed and told her to throw them away which instantly made the other food we ordered lack any appeal. She never complains and has certainly never asked me to "smell test" food we have ordered from anywhere before so I was pretty disappointed. After she threw away the food she quietly asked "mommy please don't order from this place again". I felt so bad! The inside of the carryout appears to be clean and well cared for, but that just doesn't matter if the food isn't up to par. read more
