This place used to feel like a genuine thrift store. Now it increasingly feels like an eBay reseller operating out of a brick-and-mortar location. Many prices are nowhere near what I consider reasonable thrift-store prices. I regularly see masking tape attached to items stating what they supposedly "sell for" online or what they cost new at stores such as Home Depot. An online asking price is not necessarily a completed sale. A new retail product may also include a warranty, return privileges, original packaging and assurance that it has not already been used or damaged. A used item donated to a thrift store should not be priced as though it provides the same value and protections as buying it new. If I wanted to pay eBay or near-retail prices, I would shop through those businesses instead of driving approximately 25-30 minutes to purchase used, donated merchandise. My largest complaint concerns Good Stuff's policy for merchandise its employees place on the sales floor without price tags. During my August 4 visit, I found two items I wanted to purchase, but neither had a price. This was the employees' mistake, yet I was told the items could not be priced while I was there. They had to be taken away and "processed," which could supposedly take up to 24 hours. This was not the first time this had happened to me. Why can't a manager assign a reasonable price while the customer is standing there? These were ordinary donated items already placed on the sales floor, not rare antiques requiring professional appraisal. Because I live approximately 25-30 minutes away, their policy means I either lose the item or make another nearly hour-long round trip, spend more money on gas and hope the eventual price makes the second trip worthwhile--all because an employee failed to price it properly. Even holding the item would not adequately resolve the problem. Something might be worth purchasing while I am already there, but it may not be worth making a separate trip solely for that item, particularly when I do not know what price they will eventually assign. Requiring an ordinary item to be "processed" for up to 24 hours also creates the impression that someone is researching online prices before returning it to the sales floor at the highest price they believe they can charge. To make this experience worse, another item I placed at the register was never scanned or put into my bag. Thankfully, I checked my receipt and confirmed that I was not charged, but I wanted the item and did not receive it. Between two unpriced items I could not purchase and another being overlooked at checkout, the store appeared seriously disorganized. Good Stuff responded to my Google review by saying: "Hi Rick, we are sorry to hear this was your experience shopping with us. We try to make sure we price our items at a fair value. We appreciate your feedback and make sure our team receives it. Thank you." That generic response avoided the actual complaint. It did not explain why customers are penalized when employees place unpriced merchandise on the sales floor, why a manager cannot assign a price while the customer is present, or why pricing an ordinary donated item can supposedly require up to 24 hours. Calling something "fair value" does not automatically make it fair or reasonable, especially when donated merchandise is priced according to online asking prices or what a comparable product costs brand-new at a conventional retailer. I understand that a nonprofit thrift store has employees, rent, utilities and other operating expenses. I am not suggesting everything should be practically given away. However, there is a significant difference between covering operating expenses and attempting to extract the maximum possible amount from every donated item. People donate this merchandise out of generosity because they believe they are supporting charitable causes and helping their community. They are not donating items so those items can be researched, marked up to near-eBay or new-retail prices and sold back to local shoppers for as much as possible. Customers should not lose merchandise because employees fail to price, scan or bag it correctly. Taking an unpriced item away for up to 24 hours does not correct the employee's mistake--it transfers the inconvenience and financial cost of that mistake to the customer. I submitted a formal complaint requesting review by Good Stuff Thrift's executive leadership. I will update this review if I receive a substantive response that actually addresses the unpriced-item policy, checkout failures and pricing practices.

They suggested I order online. I could have done this from home, I went in to try on and avoid the return cycle. Also this store is extremely hot! The staff and customers were struggling with the heat. Apparently the mall knows this. It's been a problem before. They have a mobile ac unit but it really doesn't cool the whole store. The two employees and myself were standing next to it to get some relief. This store always has dressing room fans but they didn't help today, just blew around hot air, I would have shopped longer to try on items had it not been so hot. The mall is legitimately dying out. There were so few people shopping . Poor HVAC is not going to encourage more people to shop instore.

I walked in feeling very much like Captain Caveman and out of place. Seriously, I almost pointed at something and went "Unga Bunga, me want that" Luckily the sales associate Jay took pity on this poor unfortunate soul. She walked me through the shopping process while being helpful, polite, and hilarious. I really can't remember the last time I laughed that much. Praise her, raise her, bask in her glory!!!! Along with Jay, I don't want to forget about Sam. While not my sales associate she was right there helping and going above and beyond. So much so that she was able to advise me on the best place to get a tattoo (booked my trip up to New Hope tomorrow) If these ladies are the example of what Torrid associates are like, I will make it my business to shop there a lot more often in the future.

We were happily greeted as soon as we walked in. We were also told of the special discount for that day which was an additional 10% off clearance items, how could I say no?!? The store was very well organized and clean. I loved that they already had some new spring candles out to smell. In addition to all the holiday scents on clearance. I bought a few small jars & a Halloween candle holder, I can't wait to put out. I wish I lived closer to this one, but next time I'm in the area I'll be going back for some spring candles!
