This is probably the largest thrift store I've experienced -- as large as a big box store. And this is the first time that I'm giving 5 stars to a thrift store! The store is well laid out and organized. Clothing takes up approximately 2/3 of the floor space. The rest of floor space contains housewares, furniture, etc. There's a large section of books, which I enjoyed browsing. Prices are quite good. Customer service is excellent. Another successful trip to 2A. You really never know what you will find. Today purple tags were 50% off, and of course I found nothing with a purple tag. I did find plenty of other things. Remember to bring at least one item to donate and you will get 20% off your entire purchase. Also Tuesday's is 25% off everything! They do not have a fitting room so you usually will see lots of people trying on items at the end of aisles mirrors. read more

I used to love shopping here. Huge, well organized clothing selection. They also have a good selection of housewares. If you are a member, you get 25% off on Tues and they regularly run sales. The kicker though... they Removed the Dressing Rooms! And you can only get an Exchange, not even Store Credit. Unacceptable! I certainly won't be buying clothes I can't try on. Not to mention, that the store is full of folks in the aisles trying clothes on over their clothes. Makes the place look so low class. Ugh. You lost a loyal customer.. read more

Is it too much to ask to try on some men's casual pants at a thrift store before deciding to purchase a few pairs? After investing a significant amount of time, 30 minutes to be exact, meticulously browsing for my waist and inseam size, I was shocked to learn that this store doesn't offer dressing rooms. Nor does it provide cash refunds for clothing, even if the item doesn't fit. I had little choice but to shop at another thrift store where a dressing room was available. read more

Don't waste your money!! I went in looking for outfits only to find out you can't try anything on, they got rid of their dressing rooms!! Not to mention, you cant return them and get your money back, they only give you a credit to buy something else. We found 2nd Avenue Thrift Superstore completely by mistake. It definitely was a wonderful discovery. The shop is tremendously huge, very well organized and has a great selection of children's books, puzzles, games, home decor, candles, trinkets, and all the unusual, fun stuff you could possibly imagine. Bath, bedding, clothing are also all in abundance here with very friendly staff to help you navigate the store should you need help. We look forward to stopping by again. read more

Yes, I thrift. I've gotten some really good items, new and next to new for really good prices. My last find was a soft sided duffle type pet carrier for $5. Sold! There are some things I won't buy used (shoes for example) but that's me. I don't judge. This store is not your typical goodwill type thrift store. First of all it's huge, and it's the most organized thrift store I've ever seen. The first section I browsed was the books. They were organized by fiction, non fiction, biographies, cookbooks, etc. The kitchen section had dish sets, utensils, counter appliances, Baking sheets all nicely grouped together. Smaller items like utensils were bagged and displayed on a wall. The clothes were all grouped by type and size. There are many dressing rooms. I ended up getting a nice dress for an upcoming occasion. It was tagged at $14.99 which I thought was a bargain, but when I checked out she said the orange tags were 50% off so $7.50. If you are leery of thrift stores this one is a good one to start with. If you are furnishing your first apartment or dorm, you'll find some good items. read more

This used to be a thrift store I would visit often. One of my favorites but of the cleanliness and organization. I thought the prices were a tad high but I managed to get some good finds. However, the issue is recently they closed their fitting rooms. When I shop for clothes at thrift stores, I maybe buy about 25% of the clothes I find after trying them on as they don't all fit me well. Since they don't offer fitting rooms they do offer an exchange policy within 14 days - but for store credit you need to spend the same day! I'm sorry but this is a thrift store. If something doesn't fit it is not like I can get the same piece in a different size! If the return policy is in exchange for no fitting rooms, at least give me back my money in the form I paid. Not same day store credit. (Even if they did this I would still not buy as much.) I'll no longer shop here knowing trying on clothes is not an option. While I'm sad this is the case every other thrift store offers fitting rooms so I'll do just fine. read more

It's gone completely downhill. I was talking to the cashier and they permanently took away the fitting rooms because of upkeep and "because Macy's is doing it, too." 1. The difference between a normal retail store like Macy's and a thrift store is there's a 30 day return/refund policy and 2. The clothes have never been worn before so they're true to size and haven't been stretched/shrunk/ripped or stained in places you don't realize until you're trying it on. 2nd Ave's new policy is that you CANNOT return for a cash refund, only exchange for more clothes and it must be within 14 days or you lose. Sounds easy but when you don't know how much you'll need to return after trying it on at home and it's a thrift store so a gamble of what will be offered the next two weeks, you're playing catch up to get your money's value back and you better not go out of town those next two weekends or it's out the window. Cashier said "I see a lot of young girls show up in tank tops to try stuff on in the store." That only works for some tops and now that there aren't fitting rooms, there are a total of roughly three mirrors in the whole store that someone's always in front of now so good luck... also some people don't want to be doing that in the middle of a store for all to see. Horrible policy. I stopped going when I couldn't find enough stuff to exchange within 14 days. Just offer 30 day returns like any other place. read more

This store has gone downhill. Prices were super high $18 for a sweatshirt?? They closed the fitting rooms. I am from Nj and was told I could exchange clothes for my girls there since they closed the fitting rooms. That turned out not to be the case. Now stuck with clothes that don't fit after spending $90 on just a few used items. I make out better at retail stores buying new items on sale! Won't be going back! read more

Would give 0 stars if I could. This used to be my favorite thrift store that I would visit often with friends and family. I've spent thousands of dollars here over the years. During my last visit this past weekend with $500 in hand to spend on a new Fall wardrobe there were signs on all fitting room doors that the fitting rooms are permanently closed. It's impossible to try on any of the clothes. I left my cart full of items and immediately walked out. I will not return unless the fitting rooms are re-opened. read more

Management very weak, and not very knowledgeable about pricing and value. Pricing guides they use are really inaccurate. Prices generally too high and many items are stained, broken, torn. Top management at register not friendly, unorganized and rude. Most staff are very friendly. Store is well maintained and clean. Must improve management and process. read more

This store is clean and near and very easy to shop at. Clothing is organized by size. There is a lot of merchandise so plan to be there for a while. Weekends are crowded but weekdays seem to be the best time to go. read more

I went the second day they opened and let me tell you this place is great! Everyone is friendly and they had a lot to look at. A lot of selections. I walked out with maybe 6 items and my total came to $31. Prices are reasonable, don't forget these prices are not like Salvation Army tho, more like goodWill price range.
