While I have shopped there on rare occasions, and found a few dishes to my liking, my primary connection with the shop are the annual dropping off of old household goods and outsized clothing to their inventory, so that it can be put to good use by new owners, while providing me with charitable deductions. Yeah. I know I'm not being all that altruistic in my generosity, but the economic system allows for such exchanges, and to not take advantage of it would deny both donor and donee the opportunity to benefit from such barter. Overall, it seems a good thing. And, beyond that end of the engagement, some genuinely enjoy shopping for "gently used" clothing and knick knacks for the home. I confess that while I haven't purchased wearables there, that others in my family have found bargains in outerwear, flatware and shelf fillers like lamps, vases and costume jewelry on occasion. As the old saying goes, " One person's junque is another person's treasure." I've seen some fairly wealthy folks fingering through the clothing racks, and hunting for antique tools and hardware, so it's not about ability to afford more, but much more about love of the hunt and discovering personal value in things that others do not see.

Why pay twenty bucks to Amazon for music or movies when lightly used classics can be found strewn among a few hundred Jane Fonda workout tapes with change back from your dollar. Sure it takes time to shift through the crap but Beatles remasters and a Blu-ray Citizen Kane for couch coin is certainly worth the time. Not worth the time is that pair of Calvin Klein jeans. It's got clothing of all kinds, furniture, household items, accessories and season items. You can find not-costume clothing here as well - I've found great jeans, and the occasional awesomely random t-shirt to rock or even clothes suitable for work. They could use a few extra fitting rooms - but the ones they have are well lit & clean. Also -- large/usually clean bathrooms, FTW! Bonus! This is the type of women's consignment shop that I favor.  It is small, but organized, and offers…read morea wide selection of apparel; the exception would be shoes and small sizes of tops and sweaters (they do have them, however, the selection is rather limited.)  The people who work in the store stay out of a shopper's way,  but I don't see that as a negative.  I like to browse and move on as I please without intrusions.   I noticed a few complaints about the owner turning down prospective consigners' offerings.  If the owner or buyer declines someone's articles, she has, of course, that prerogative.  I have bought a few brand new pairs of jeans at the store.  On the other hand, I purchased a pair of dress pants there a few years ago that weren't up-to-the-minute contemporary, but they were classic in style, constructed well, and are still my favorite pair of "dressy" pants/pants I would wear to work. The point is, the owner evidently does accept some slightly dated items, but I'm fairly sure her decision to do so depends on what the items are, if there is a need for them, and if the shop has space, just to name a few.
