I have sold clothing through Princeton Consignment a number of times. They are very picky with the…read moreitems they select, which I think is a good thing. They accept labels such as Banana Republic, Kenneth Cole and Anthropologie, on up to couture. The items should not be older than two years (which means this ISN'T the place to shop if you're looking for vintage), and it better not have any signs of wear. However, I have never purchased anything. Quite frankly, the clothes seem dated to me, which I don't understand because they say they don't want anything older than two years. But I saw some shoulder pads when I was in there today, as well as some very dated looking evening gowns. I didn't closely pick through the racks because I didn't see a single item that really caught my eye after a quick scan. My style of clothing doesn't match what they sell, but they always take my stuff, and it always sells. Can't complain about that!

Finally a consignment with high quality sweaters in small sizes! The quality of clothing here is gently pre-owned, with some vintage brand names sprinkled throughout. I was excited to find a few of my favorite European brands here too. The prices reflect the quality, e.g. if you're buying silver you're paying for silver. I will say that the furs are a bit of a deal considering that they don't smell like they've absorbed 30 years of smoke the fur lays smooth, and still they have all their buttons. The men's section is decent too with more American vintage brands, made to last. Lots of fun silk ties and sashes, and plenty of sporting coats for all of your scholarly needs. The one thing I didn't like about this shop was the young customers! Loudly complaining about the prices, and minor defects in some of the clothes. Most of the items in this shop are statement pieces or items designed to last. You are not going to find prices akin to temu or shein for well made items! (With the exception of the $1 t-shirt rack...) This is a well curated consignment shop. Leaving 4 stars because I didn't get to explore the second half of the store full of home decor! They are closing at the end of April, 2024 and moving across the street according to a post on their Facebook page. There are still a few pieces of furniture deeply discounted (bookshelves for $25.00), a couple racks of clothes and some kitchen items, hangers, toys still for sale but beware... the offerings are exceptionally few. The shop is nearly empty, and the staff seem preoccupied enough to even notice you are there. From Sloan's Thrift Facebook page: Exciting News! Sloans thrift will be closing its doors and relocating across the street to its new location next to the new Planet Fitness (old rite aid location or for better clarity, near Ollie's. This move is already in process. Even thought the idea saddens us, we are looking forward to a bigger location. The plan is to close up last week in April and reopen May1st. More updates will come as things progress but just remember now Bristol will have 2 great thrifts stores in one great location!

She even put the music back on for us and answered all of our questions. After having a not-so-great experience from the other vintage stores in the area, it was good to end on a good note and browse the lovely pieces here. They were all so character-filled and colorful and I can tell the store was carefully curated. Ultimately three of us purchased items, and we just enjoyed chatting with the shop owner and getting her opinion on the pieces. I definitely want to check out some of her online sales and return to the physical location when I can.

It looks like a lot of people have been donating furniture. They have a lot of space displaying that. I digress. I like tchotchkes/ Knicknacks. And I like keeping my eyes peeled for little vases that way I can give them out as gifts if somebody's not feeling good or if they're feeling good and just need a little surprise. I was happy to see a Patrick Nagel picture here. ((It's very nostalgic for 80s lovers like me!! )
