They tried explaining but did it so fast then also said i was wrong bc the cashier remembers, which i can accept had they actually pointed out and showed me what was what but my cart wasn't in front of me (it was in the car by that time) and I had asked if they could just quick walk over to the car with me which was parked extremely close as it was not busy, to help show me what was what bc I was confused and didn't really get an explanation other than i was wrong bc the cashier remembers and instead of doing that, they shut their doors (the register is a tiny shed outside) and that was that. I am the friendliest human ever and was so incredibly nice about this and asking. Then once i walked back to my car to see if a manager could help bc i literally just wanted someone to show me which plants were what price wise/pot size wise. I genuinely was asking nicely. The girl who answered said the manager wasn't there and i asked if she could tell me when the manager would be in because i had questions about charges. She hung up on me. So i walked into the actual building where i asked for the manager, the girl walked over to the manager and he looked at me, she returned saying he didn't want to speak to me. It was the weirdest experience ive ever had there and it was kind of enough to put me off for good. I can spend thousands every year on florals and landscaping and bird items, anywhere. I liked supporting their biz but that. Felt so lazy and lame and like shit customer service i just never want to go back or let me kids near those kids running the place again. They're so disrespectful and just not cut out for customer service or providing floral or math/register service to adults period. The item was clearly and officially marked with a price tag of $149, down from $199. When we went to complete the transaction, the store manager, Linda Andress-Heierbacher, stepped in and flatly refused to honor the price printed on the store's own physical tag. Rather than taking responsibility for a store pricing error--a standard practice in retail consumer relations--the manager was dismissive, hostile, and entirely unapologetic. This is a clear-cut case of bait-and-switch pricing. Retailers cannot display lower price tags to entice buyers to the register, only to demand a higher price at checkout. When corporate was contacted, they simply forwarded the complaint back to the very manager who committed the infraction, showing a systemic lack of consumer accountability. A formal complaint has been filed with the Bucks County Consumer Protection Agency and the Pennsylvania Attorney General. Local shoppers should be highly vigilant when checking out at this location, as management does not stand behind their marked pricing.

Somehow, this bad faith gaslighting between siblings only made me want to visit them more. Wonder of wonders, it's a furniture store. Frankly, I can't tell you if a "Paco Geppetto" or "Geezus of Nazareth" brand couch is better or worse than the inventory carried in their mainline store but to my eyes and especially, my derriere, they felt pretty good. Perhaps the Sultan of Brunei may have some quality issues but seeing as the two of us will never be confused, I can live with a reasonable compromise or two. And frankly, the pieces weren't self-destructing before my eyes like they do at a discount schlock-meister like Bob's. We're still looking but the Raymour and Flanigan Outlet is still in the running, much to the chagrin of the Sultan. Five easy stars.

Taking all that into consideration, I decided to make this purchase with RF & I'm glad I did. I had a hassle-free experience & received good quality furniture for a reasonable price. This place used to feel like a genuine thrift store. Now it increasingly feels like an eBay reseller operating out of a brick-and-mortar location. Many prices are nowhere near what I consider reasonable thrift-store prices. I regularly see masking tape attached to items stating what they supposedly "sell for" online or what they cost new at stores such as Home Depot. An online asking price is not necessarily a completed sale. A new retail product may also include a warranty, return privileges, original packaging and assurance that it has not already been used or damaged. A used item donated to a thrift store should not be priced as though it provides the same value and protections as buying it new. If I wanted to pay eBay or near-retail prices, I would shop through those businesses instead of driving approximately 25-30 minutes to purchase used, donated merchandise. My largest complaint concerns Good Stuff's policy for merchandise its employees place on the sales floor without price tags. During my August 4 visit, I found two items I wanted to purchase, but neither had a price. This was the employees' mistake, yet I was told the items could not be priced while I was there. They had to be taken away and "processed," which could supposedly take up to 24 hours. This was not the first time this had happened to me. Why can't a manager assign a reasonable price while the customer is standing there? These were ordinary donated items already placed on the sales floor, not rare antiques requiring professional appraisal. Because I live approximately 25-30 minutes away, their policy means I either lose the item or make another nearly hour-long round trip, spend more money on gas and hope the eventual price makes the second trip worthwhile--all because an employee failed to price it properly. Even holding the item would not adequately resolve the problem. Something might be worth purchasing while I am already there, but it may not be worth making a separate trip solely for that item, particularly when I do not know what price they will eventually assign. Requiring an ordinary item to be "processed" for up to 24 hours also creates the impression that someone is researching online prices before returning it to the sales floor at the highest price they believe they can charge. To make this experience worse, another item I placed at the register was never scanned or put into my bag. Thankfully, I checked my receipt and confirmed that I was not charged, but I wanted the item and did not receive it. Between two unpriced items I could not purchase and another being overlooked at checkout, the store appeared seriously disorganized. Good Stuff responded to my Google review by saying: "Hi Rick, we are sorry to hear this was your experience shopping with us. We try to make sure we price our items at a fair value. We appreciate your feedback and make sure our team receives it. Thank you." That generic response avoided the actual complaint. It did not explain why customers are penalized when employees place unpriced merchandise on the sales floor, why a manager cannot assign a price while the customer is present, or why pricing an ordinary donated item can supposedly require up to 24 hours. Calling something "fair value" does not automatically make it fair or reasonable, especially when donated merchandise is priced according to online asking prices or what a comparable product costs brand-new at a conventional retailer. I understand that a nonprofit thrift store has employees, rent, utilities and other operating expenses. I am not suggesting everything should be practically given away. However, there is a significant difference between covering operating expenses and attempting to extract the maximum possible amount from every donated item. People donate this merchandise out of generosity because they believe they are supporting charitable causes and helping their community. They are not donating items so those items can be researched, marked up to near-eBay or new-retail prices and sold back to local shoppers for as much as possible. Customers should not lose merchandise because employees fail to price, scan or bag it correctly. Taking an unpriced item away for up to 24 hours does not correct the employee's mistake--it transfers the inconvenience and financial cost of that mistake to the customer. I submitted a formal complaint requesting review by Good Stuff Thrift's executive leadership. I will update this review if I receive a substantive response that actually addresses the unpriced-item policy, checkout failures and pricing practices.
