When you arrive, expect to wait at least 10 minutes- even after ringing the bell. He makes no attempt to watch for incoming customers and when he does appear, there's not so much as a greeting. On at least three occasions, he has failed to firmly attached the lids or provided carriers for multiple drinks resulting in customers spilling their drinks. This "employee" is clearly unhappy with his job. I am not the only person who has noticed his behavior. Several patrons who were seated out front on my last visit waited over eight minutes at the unmanned counter before they were forced to call out "Hello?" several times. It was only after several more minutes that this particular employee peered through a piece of cardboard he had propped up in the take-out window (apparently to block customers from getting his attention or disturbing him while he was on a phone) and proceeded to stare at them. What are we at Popeyes Chicken on La Brea? The owner, Rachel Sazon, needs to replace this employee ASAP so he can spread his misery somewhere else - like maybe the DMV.

Service has been consistently quick and people are very friendly here. This is a great spot for a casual date or coffee chat. One small critique: it seems like GTC has fallen victim to "shrinkflation" in recent years. I've noticed the portions (particularly for the superfood bowls) get smaller and the prices get higher. I recognize owning & operating a restaurant in LA is tough and I only point this out because GTC still serves delicious, high-quality food & drinks. That said, the prices might be a little steep for the average consumer. Most people park on one of the residential streets, but there's metered parking on Pico as well.
