After my family and I visited the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, I wanted to stop somewhere for ice cream, but my kids wanted something to drink like a smoothie or boba. Another criteria they were looking for was a nice place to hang out. We ended up deciding on Green Table Cafe because my daughter said that this cafe sold smoothies and it was a cute place based on the pictures she saw online. Once we got to the cafe, it had an inviting vibe and the gentleman behind the counter was friendly, but I wasn't a fan of the Chocotino smoothie and the table we sat at was not cleaned prior to us sitting there. Green Table Cafe is located in Los Angeles specifically on Pico Blvd. and Stearns Drive. It's next to an India Spices & Groceries store and it's across the street from CVS. Parking is mainly street parking and we found a metered parking spot across the street that didn't cost too much. Once we entered the cafe, we were greeted by small red car that someone could win if you participate in their $20/ticket raffle and a welcome greeting from the gentleman behind the counter. It's definitely a cute and inviting place with a large painted sentence "Love what you do Do it with LOVE" on the wall behind the counter. There are other inspirational wall art scattered around the restaurant. There are floral decorations throughout, wooden slat ceiling, natural light, and other accents that match the vibe. There are round marble tables with blue velvet and blue plastic chairs, a skinny wooden table with a sofa, and there are covered outdoor seating. Not sure if the gentlemen behind the counter was the owner or manager, but he was customer service oriented and was friendly to every customer who entered the cafe. My review is solely based on the smoothie I ordered because that's all I experienced. If we ever visit again, I would like to try their food and desserts because the desserts and pastries looked enticing. The description of their savory food on their menu made them sound delicious, but I won't know until I try. Based on its name, the verbiage on the menu, and what I drank, it appears Green Table Cafe is for the healthy conscious consumer. Their menu consists of coffee drinks, smoothies, superfood bowls, salads, and burgers/paninis. The words gluten-free, kale, quinoa, acai, hemp milk, and mint extract hearken to someone with a vegan diet. I'm a carnivore and I like to eat whatever I enjoy, so I'm probably not their target customer. I ordered their Chocotino smoothie and I wasn't a fan from the first sip to the last. The Chocotino is made with almond milk, banana, cacao, protein powder, rolled oats, almond yogurt, dark chocolate, peppermint oil, and goji berries. It leaned heavily on a peppermint taste and when I let my daughter taste it, she said it reminded her of a York peppermint patty candy. I definitely was not a fan and I almost brought it back to exchange, but I kept hoping it would taste better. I stirred it with my straw, but it didn't change my disdain for this smoothie. My kiddos got the smoothies they craved and a place that was a cool place to hang out. I didn't enjoy my smoothie, but that's what parents do. We make sacrifices for our kids. read more

I had passed by Green Table multiple times before and finally had the chance to try it. I ordered the Tropical Iris superfood bowl and it was about $12. While the bowl itself was tasty and fresh, I was hoping for it to have more chunks of fruit. However, the portion was very reasonable for the price and I ended up enjoying it. The cafe itself is really cute and would be a good place to bring a laptop and get some work done. Looking forward to coming back and trying other items. read more

Although the items are quite expensive, I think the quality and taste of the food is worth it. The seating is spacious as there are options indoor and outdoors. The dining experience was wonderful and there is something for everyone. There are delicious meals (like the "Better than tuna" salad), but also desserts (like the yummy tiramisu!) The a great variety of menu items ranging from drinks (coffee, lattes, matcha, juice, smoothies) to hot food items (soups, burgers, and paninis) to salads & various health bowls, and of course, bakery items (cakes, chocolate truffles, cookie dough bites, cookies, croissants, muffins, and other miscellaneous baked goods). 1. Britney's Special (3.75/5) This bowl consists of quinoa, kale, tofu-egg scramble topped with dried cranberries, roasted red bell peppers, sautéed mushrooms, red kimchi, avocado slices, sprouted walnuts and almond cream cheese with olive oil dressing. The overall flavor of this bowl was decent; it tasted very wholesome and nutritious. But I must say, they were very skimpy with the avocado - giving me only 2 slices of avocado when the photo advertises a whole avocado sliced. As much as it is hearty and healthy, it is really not worth the $21.45. 2. Chocolate Cigar (1/5) A roll kinda shaped like a cigar, hence the name. It is filled with semi-sweet chocolate and cinnamon, then topped off with powdered sugar and chocolate drizzle. The dough part of this pastry was very soggy. It lacked any favorable flavor and felt like you're just eating a soggy chocolate chip puff pastry. Further, the ingredients it contains is unhealthy - sugar, vegetable oil, soy lecithin and natural flavors (which is nothing "natural" at all). Not worth the calories by any means. 3. Mocha Blondie Cake (2/5) I give them credit for using garbanzo flour as the base for the cake making this cake a gluten-free option. However, the cake was very dense and a bit too sweet for my liking. At least the ingredients in this cake is better - cacao powder, oat milk, sugar, olive oil, mocha espresso, vanilla. It's not a bad cake per se, but it's definitely not my type of cake. I really tried to like this neighborhood cafe, but the high price tag for the so-so food is just not worth it in my opinion. read more

My spouse is a fan of traditional breakfasts, so it was nice that they had some options for him which he enjoyed. I wanted a smoothie bowl but didn't know which one to order. The cashier suggested the sea of green since it's the most popular. My mom ordered the not egg or better than egg toast. The almond ricotta and vegan pesto really made the dish a stand out. The smoothie bowl was refreshing and actually a large serving. There were plenty of vegan pastries and a few gluten free options. I was so surprised to find this place because I usually go next door to the Ethiopian restaurant called Awash and since they were closed for their Easter celebration I found this plant based restaurant! My only reason for deducting one-star is due to the fact that I noticed one of the employees who was making my bowl touching her hair with the same gloves she was making my bowl with & I kindly asked her not to cross-contaminate the food while shuffling through her hair with sanitation gloves on. I would highly recommend a uniform cap, hair nets, or hair to be pulled back completely. Food 3/5 Superbowl: they recommended this for my no bananas order which bummed me out because I wanted the lychee infused juice from the other açaí bowl but this didn't have it. I've been a longtime customer of Green Table Café, but after my recent experience, I will never be returning. The place has gone downhill--overpriced food, a dirty environment, and shockingly rude and pretentious staff, including the owner. The worst part? I spotted a roach at my table. Instead of addressing the issue properly, the staff didn't even sanitize the area. After I left to another table, another guest sat there and the staff acted as if nothing happened. yuck Service was just as bad. My waiter mistakenly served my food to another guest, who inspected the plate and sent it back. Rather than remaking the dish, the waiter simply brought it to me. Completely unacceptable. This café used to be great, but it's clear that cleanliness and customer service are no longer priorities. Not to mention a very dirty restroom. I won't be back, and I'd advise others to think twice before dining here. read more

I stumbled upon this gem of a spot by complete accident while coming out of the vitamin shoppe. They had some incredible options for juices, smoothies, all day breakfasts, salads, burgers/sandwiches, etc... but the thing that intrigued me the most was all their desserts like cakes, chocolate truffles, tiramisu, croissants, and best of all... cinnamon rolls! I immediately knew what I was getting because that's something I've been craving for the longest time. I got that along with their yummy breakfast tacos and "tuna" salad. Also got their blondie mocha cake, tiramisu, and croissant to go. I devoured that whole cinnamon roll and one of the tacos with a few bites of the salad and I was pleasantly satisfied.
