STAY FAR AWAY FROM EARTH CLASS MAIL!!! They used to be GREAT, but now are the exact opposite. Our company was a loyal 5+ year customer, but after multiple address changes, price changes and weak customer service, we finally made the difficult decision to move elsewhere (which was no small undertaking). We paid a termination fee which was supposed to include a ~6 month transition, but now they have advised us that they will NOT be scanning and forwarding our mail as was represented (when I login to the portal it now says "NO ACCESS" on some important 2024 tax documents. I previously LOVED these guys (and made numerous referrals), but ever since they merged with LegalZoom, things went downhill -- they just don't care. Neat idea and service, but a horrible execution. I've been a customer for TEN YEARS. In the last year or so it has become absolutely ABYSMAL. It now takes up to TWENTY DAYS for them to receive and scan in mail. We don't even see a bill until OVER A MONTH from when it's mailed. Who pays for this, goes into arrears etc??? We do of course. They are going to ruin our credit and cost us a lot more bank fees if we don't move. DO YOU KNOW WHAT A PAIN IT IS TO MOVE A BUSINESS ADDRESS? I've done it a half dozen times and it ALWAYS results in some kind of trouble with a federal agency and missed bills. I was a customer for about 6 years, but just cancelled and this is my last month. The service was great for the first 3-4 years, under different management. But as of the last year, the service has fallen off a cliff. Based on the current level of service, the company is obviously struggling with management, employees, etc. The main problem is that the mail simply doesn't get scanned in a reasonable amount of time. Today is September 18th, and I just got a piece of mail scanned in that was post marked August 28th. That's three weeks since it was sent. If this was a one off, it'd be one thing but this happens routinely. Forget having bills sent there; you won't have time to pay them before they are already late. Having checks deposited through them used to be the main reason I stayed, but the delay in processing has gotten so bad, it made it hard for my AR department to follow up with bills (checks will be sitting there for weeks unopened, looking like customers haven't paid). I wish there was a negative star rating as Earth Class qualifies to be shut down and the owner arrested for gross negligence. We just started using Earth Class Mail early December as we are traveling in our RV for the next year. Earth Class has received the following, but has not scanned and notified us. I believe the staff are keeping and selling or using. 1. Refund check $1,300 2. Two packages containing items 3. Department of Motor Vehicles title of ownership for our 5th wheel 4. Credit card Of the few items they scan/email to us, they are not scanning the contents as per the contractual agreement. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! So far 2 items were delivered to Earth Class Mail and one has been lost. The one item took 2 weeks after delivery, to make it into our inbox. Support is lacking, it takes 1+ business' days to receive an email response and they'll ask one simple question at a time. To have a conversation by emial could easily take a week. I don't normally write a review but this is an exception. If you are a small business read this. The experience goes like this for the past 1.5 years: 1) Scanning both sides requested 6 times at different points in time. This is a setting and should be automated. So much for EC automating mundane tasks with technology. 2) Premium location shuts down due to "water leak" but never gets restored so all mail is shipped to the other side of the country and takes an extra 4 days to get any mail. Called and emailed multiple times and get the run-around. I am still paying for a premium location but getting second class service that I originally didn't sign up for. Discount? Open back up the local location? Naw, deal with it customer because you don't really need to get checks in the mail as a small business, do you? 3) EC ups the prices which doesn't pencil for small businesses and now I am trying to cancel my account with no response after 2 weeks. I notified them again and again and now they are replying once a week just so they can charge me for another month of $189 for absolutely nothing and then more money if any other mail comes in. If you like being jerked around and are a small business with tons of extra time to get jerked around and throw money into a hole, EC is for you. Try any other service, including poking yourself in the eye with a stick. It will be better than dealing with this company which is a cross between fraud and extortion. read more

I agree the charges really add up plus their services really really really suck. They are amazingly slow in scanning stuff, and the scanning stuff is usually screwed up. There is really inconsistent capability between their apps and their service via a typical web browser such as Safari. There's safari interface is worthless since you can't read any of the scans. There's huge inconsistency between the apps and Safari in terms of functionality and it's amazingly user unfriendly. I tried to send three recent deliveries as a forwarding item to an address where I'm at, there was no ability to do that for no apparent reason, only one of the three allowed me to forward it... Why!? Now they've sent out a blanket email to everybody saying how hard everything is with coronavirus and in part blaming everything on USPS. I was using physical address and I finally got fed up with their huge delays and forwarding stuff and based reviews I thought these guys would be better but frankly they're basically crap. So what I finally done is I've rented a mailbox with UPS and I can get my stuff there year-round with friendly helpful staff versus these really minimal support, purportedly quality services. these guys suck read more

We have been a customer for years. Generally the system works beautifully. They did do a system update within the last six months that slowed everything down. I just tried to switch to a competitor and it was quite apparent that these guys are so much more professional. Yes, calling customer service is kind of a joke. Yes, when things go bad it is painful. But when it is smooth sailing - like it has been for us 95% of the time, they are the only game for us. I tried iPostal and that is just a mess. You are a victim of the local Pony Express/Mail Etc. whatever. The local place may or may not get around to processing your mail, the checks are MAILED to your bank (what???) it is just completely rinkey dink. I know folks here have had issues but I can speak for us and that is that we will not be moving. EVER. read more

Really disappointing service. They sell you on fast turn around and convenience. First. They don't disclose that to actually get your mail it takes 2 weeks from the delivery date. So add up to two weeks for them to process your mail before you actually see your mail. Second if you ever have an issue their first excuse is the USPS screwed up. Even if you send something w a tracking number they claim it's the usps fault. Third their customer support sucks. They do everything via email and it can take multiple emails to get a problem solved. Remember their primary customer support response is "not our fault the usps screwed up" so you have to wait days for them to realize it's actually their problem. Fourth. They are not shy about add on charges. Check your bill bc there is always an add on that may or may not be valid. Fifth they have rules about ups/fedex. Don't do it!!! I've been using this service for about four years, and it WAS very good up until a month or so ago. They have gone completely off the rails and it is nearly impossible to get any customer service. There are too many issues to list here, but here's a sampling: -They have been loosing scans that I was saving, and the new interface is unusable and doesn't function. -Over 50 items, some from over a year ago have shown up in my inbox, but important scans I was retaining for reference are gone. Uh... On the new interface: -Delete function no longer works: I select Actions when viewing an item, and then select Shred from the pop-up menu, but nothing happens and the item is still in my inbox. -Full shipping address not in system: The c/o addressee that I have and see in the old interface doesn't appear in the new interface, even when I re-enter the shipping address. So... that function, which is important to me, is no longer available. -Scan grayed out: When viewing an item, Scan is grayed out (and no... I've not already scanned the item). Uh... this is sort of a basic functionality of the service that no longer works. -Biz address in personal inbox: I've had a second addressee/inbox set up up for four years to sort two different recipients, and that no longer works on the new interface. I wouldn't be writing this review if I could at least get a customer service response that was more than: "Thanks for taking the time to write to us. We understand that our new website takes some getting used to and that we still have some improvements to make. Our Development team is working around the clock looking for ways to improve our users' experience and ensure there are no bugs on our new site. I have forwarded your feedback to our Development team on how they can improve our interface." Unable to speak with a rep in person. Email responses from them are vacuous at best. And they are by far the most expensive Virtual Mailbox out here. I'm shopping for a new virtual mailbox. How's that for a confidence builder, eh? read more

Buyer beware! Per the other reviews, I can attest to the fact that their pricing is very deceptive, and confusing. But more importantly, keep in mind that canceling is even more sketchy. So, since some much mail goes to their SF address, the USPS won't allow you to file a change of address form. If you cancel, and you continue to get mail at your Earth Class Mail address, Earth Class Mail legally has to hold your mail for 6 months. However, they won't actually give it to you unless you pay them. They basically hold your mail hostage until you cough up the cash! read more

Such an odd bunch they are. You tell them you want to cancel, complete the official cancellation request and then they charge you anyway. When you request a refund based on the emailed cancellation conversation, they decline and instead forward you a screenshot of an email from 15 days earlier where we signed up for the service. Perhaps they don't understand time moves forward in a linear direction? I understand I signed up at one point, I then cancelled (because who wants to wait 2-3 weeks to find out they have mail?) Anyway, save yourself the trouble and stress and find another mail forwarding company. read more

The worst! If you have an issue (and we've had many since we started with them March 2018) it takes days to even get a response. Don't even try calling because after being on perpetual hold they just come back with a voice recorded message that says to click on the Help button on your account or send an email and "Thank you for calling EarthClass Mail". Uh... I already tried that and I can't take two MORE days to 1. figure out where my checks are and why they haven't arrived at the bank yet despite requesting (and paying extra for) expedited 2-day shipping and 2. why we haven't received any mail for going on two weeks now. It has literally taken 3-4 weeks for checks to get deposited. We requested a deposit of a check on 9/17/18. It was just deposited in our bank account yesterday (10/16/18). When we first enrolled for check depositing they just sent our checks to a random bank location and after A LOT of research taking days and days I was finally able to get the bank address from them and they were sending checks to a bank admin office not an branch location where deposits are made. The admin office location then had to send them to a branch office. When I requested a bank address change to our actual branch, that took another few weeks. No one wants to wait weeks for a check to be deposited. Then when we set up our new bank address, for some odd reason that I still don't understand, they noted this address on our account as "standard delivery", so despite our selection of expedited delivery when the deposit request was made, EarthClass sent them standard delivery any way. This took another few weeks to fix. So frustrating! We're ending our relationship with EarthClass Mail and going back to the old school mailbox or PO box. We all understand that there will be a few bumps in the beginning with a new process, but here after 8 months with them this should be running smoothly, and it's still a mess. Also, while it's nice to be able to contact a company via email and a Help button, that's not too helpful if they take (per their policy) 24-48 hours to respond. Even with that, there are times you just MUST talk to a human and you won't be doing that with EarthClass Mail. Can't wait to dump this service. Still wondering where our mail is for the last two weeks. Maybe I'll find out in the next 24-48 hours... read more

I'm not sure why Yelp isn't taking my update about this location being closed, but the current storefront at 548 Market is nearly empty. All that's inside is a big shredder, and there's a sign on the door to deliver packages to a nearby address. It does not bode well for Earth Class Mail that this address continues to be listed as an available San Francisco address on the website. For what it's worth, they were a fine service when I used them years ago, but they seem pretty precarious to trust with mail today. read more

We are very disappointed with Earth Class Mail. We wanted to create an account with them as we don't have a US resident address and still needed to receive mail while traveling. We oppened an account and then received an email notification saying we were non compliant due to our missing US adress, so we couln't use any service. We went with another service and 3 months Earth Class Mail was still billing the monthly fee of our original plan. We contacted them to ask why, and they said even though we were non compliant and couldn't use any service, the account was still open and therefore we had to pay all. If we quit the account immediately, we'd be refunded tje most recent payment. In their Terms of Service, which in my understanding is a legal agreement, they state they will immediately close the account (and hence not bill any more) if someone was non compliant for their service. In our case they didn't hold up their part of the agreement, leading them to behave illegal as they would not return the fee of the already paid months, and their guy John just didn't respond anymore, leaving us hanging. read more

I'm a happy ECM customer with addresses in multiple places. I added San Francisco when my company needed an office address and was between spaces, and now use the San Francisco a lot for a company address and general package receiving. It's a great service overall (although rather pricey, minus 0.1 stars), but this review is specific to the San Francisco ECM location. Earth Class Mail is essentially a "virtual mailroom" provider, rather than a traditional private mailbox. They will receive mail, scan the covers, optionally scan the contents, and put it on a web service for you to browse. You can then request more detailed scans, forwarding, recycling, shredding, or pickup. I love the service when I'm overseas -- I can let mail accumulate for a few months, handle important transactional mail (e.g. car registration renewal, a few paper bills, other notices) remotely, and get things like a replacement laptop shipped internationally to me when needed. Anything else can be picked up when I return (which I'm actually doing this morning). The staff at this site are great -- they've been willing to pick out items which had just arrived (pre-processing) with a few minutes wait, rather than making me wait for another day for the items to be processed normally. I've shipped $20k camera lenses, $priceless prototypes, etc. through the site with zero problems. The main negative (-0.75 stars) about this ECM site is parking. It's on Market, so there's no street parking. I usually park at a garage on 3rd which is $2.50 for the first 15 or 20 minutes, can probably make it in that time, but with larger or multiple packages, it's kind of a pain. The other negative is the hours (minus 0.15 stars) -- as a pure package-receiving site, not being open on saturdays or evenings is a pain. It's almost worth it to forward packages via a cheap shipping service to a regular FedEx office location for weekend pickup, sometimes. It would be nice if ECM partnered with a local courier service for something like this -- you could delegate access to a taskrabbit or someone like that, but due to the lack of parking, it would be difficult for larger packages anyway. Overall, ECM is awesome if you use the service for the remote mail handling options; as a pure package receiving site, the staff make this site great, but there might be cheaper or more accessible options for that service alone. read more

I see a lot of complaints but put yourself in their shoes, with sky high rents and cost of living in san fran, to get the service you're getting from earth class mail, you should be paying at least $500 a month, instead they're charging $50/month for the most basic package. I thought this business would be an interesting way to manage a virtual office. I have been disappointed from beginning to end. There is no real service. At account closing it took 7 days for the rep to answer (unsatisfactorily) a question about how how I could receive my tax document. While I had the service I found it grossly inefficient, untimely and expensive. Client from OH mails me a check to MA address that then then gets routed to OR and then need to wait for it to be scanned to see what it is and then deposit. DSOs go through the roof. A PO Box is the solution. read more

I've been a customer of Earth Class Mail (ECM) for many years, but the recent more-than-doubling of their prices (from $14.95 to $29 and now to $79!) has forced me to move to another better, cheaper provider (Anytime Mailbox). The last time ECM doubled their prices (in 2017, shortly after their bankruptcy) they committed in writing that us loyal customers would enjoy a "lifetime credit for an extra address" and should accept the change on the basis that we "will not be excluded from new features and improvements in the future". Not even a year later they instead reduced service levels, claiming it was "not an economical business model". Then a year after that (September 2019) they reneged on their "lifetime" promise, instituting a huge 70% price increase and charging for addresses. As if that wasn't enough, the "premium" San Francisco address is itself a forwarder, meaning that my packages are more often than not being rejected; this "service" currently costs $109/month before usage fees! To add insult to injury, I've just learned from another irate customer that they plan to continue charging me for 6 months after I leave, but there's no point discussing with them as they will just refer to clauses buried deep in their terms. The best way to avoid the disruption and expense I'm experiencing now is to avoid signing up in the first place; there are plenty of other, better options out there. read more

The absolute worst service with the most unprofessional customer service ever! They had the nerve to close my account due to a billing issue after I updated my payment information. When I noticed the account was closed I called customer service to inquire about why my account was closed when my billing information was updated. The representative on the phone confirmed with me that on February 3, 2019 my billing information was updated and for some strange reason their system didn't bill the new card. He even confirmed the last 4 digits of the card on file which was the correct card. He then confirmed the account closure was improper and stated he would open a trouble ticket to have the issue resolved. Days later I received an email stating that after 6 months of nonpayment they close your account. I responded that my account was updated way before 6 months had passed. The card was actually updated when I received the notice which was on the 60th day. That's 4 months before the "6 months policy". Rather than take responsibility for their screw up.... they refused to reopen my account. These people are a complete joke! They have policies they don't follow and refuse to correct their mistakes! Stay far away from this company. No wonder they filed for bankruptcy! Oh and I had to call for 3 days straight before someone finally picked up the phone. read more

Pricing is confusing. I was charged for months on end for a check deposit service I wasn't using. When I signed up for check deposit I thought it was included in my monthly fee because I had seen it advertised on the website. A few months later, I realize that I've been charged $30/mo for a service I only used once. When I called support, they only wanted to refund me for one month of the service, even though I only used this service *once.* Since I requested a refund I haven't heard back for over 3 weeks. Extremely unreliable service provider. I changed my address to a virtual ECM address in Nov/2015 and it is Jul/2016. I have not been receiving some very important letters through the post including bills, event tickets, checks...etc. Jun/2016 I had someone send me a test letter via USPS and that letter never arrived in my virtual address. I now know that ECM has not been routing all my letters to me. Absolutely criminal to lose people's post. It is unacceptable. read more

Earth Class Mail has super deceptive and extremely ridiculous pricing. At first glance, you can receive 100 pieces of mail scanned per month for $19.95 -- great, right? Uh, actually that's 100 *envelopes* scanned per month. Each letter is $1.50 to scan as black and white, so if you planned to receive even half that volume, it's $75/mo. Shredding should be done by default if Earth Class Mail cared at all about identity theft, so plan an extra $4.95/mo for that. And you need an address to receive mail at, which one would presume would be included... nope: $23.95/mo for that. But the signup process isn't clear, and asks for your credit card information before showing you the total cost. My total cost would have been $123.85, and surprise! There's a $25 non-refundable setup fee and minimum contract length. FAIL. Look at the alternative solutions out there... read more
