Wonderful time as always and Claudia is an absolute all-star up front! Will always come back and make this my go to spot!

This was my second time coming here and I enjoyed it as much as the first time. The pizza and fish tacos are very good, although I recommend getting them during happy hour. The sangria drink was tasty but strong at all :( read more

Earl's happy hour - my first visit to this Earl's for Friday night date night. My gf and I had been drawn to Earl's by the fantastic sounding happy hour offerings, but only some were worth the visit. At 5pm on a Friday, this location was predictably packed out, but we only waited about five minutes to get a generously sized booth without a reservation. Considering how many people there were, the service was efficient (if not overly warm) and our food and drinks arrived promptly. We started with a beer and a mojito. The beer list isn't extensive, and although the price is good at $5 for a pint, the lager didn't deliver on taste. The $6.50 mojito is another story - three choices of flavour, and the lime mojito was amazing: fresh and zingy. Moving onto food, we started with garlic fries to share. What a disappointment: incredibly greasy, barely any whole fries and the dip provided was no great shakes. Good thing we also chose to get burgers. There's a lot of choice for burgers in this town, but I'll be back for Earl's $12.50 happy hour offering. Simple in presentation but really tasty; flavoursome meat and just the right amount of mayo. The only disappointment with the burgers was the $1.75 upcharge we paid to swap out the accompanying fries for salad. When we pointed out to our server that she hadn't mentioned the charge when she offered the salad, she quickly removed the extra charge. Midway through our visit, the TV was switched to the Canada/Sweden junior hockey final. This in itself was fine, but they then turned the sound way up to the point where it was too loud for the chatting groups and families out together. Our booth was flanked by speakers on either side, so perhaps we were just unlucky, but it was turned down in short order. I also want to mention the washrooms. I can only speak to the washrooms on the main level, but one urinal and one stall seems like too few for a restaurant of this size. The facilities themselves are nice, but you wonder when they get busy, you might be waiting awhile. Overall, we were pleased with our visit, though the bill did add up quickly. I really liked the burger and the mojito and would happily order both again. read more

Menu Image 1: From this menu we got the Dynamite Roll. Was definitely apprehensive about the "mango" but as I'm not one who enjoys mixing my fruit into my savory foods, but it was quite good. The crispy prawn with the tangy sriracha mayo and a the mango wasn't loud in taste but definitely balanced everything out. 8/10 - I give this rating because I was also super hungry and that could've biased my taste buds. It was real good though! Menu Image 2: From this menu we got the Lobster + Prawn Ravioli. We split one plate, but honestly should have got separate orders because as you can see, a split portion is super small (we had to order non-pictured garlic fries to tie us over). 7/10 - the sauce was real good, not overpowering, yet still nice and creamy. The ravioli was good, although tasted a little over cooked, but not bad at all. The celery root inside the ravioli barely had a taste. Overall a good meal. The service was good! The waitress was friendly & accommodating. Appreciate it! read more

Wow! I don't know what is happening in Yaletown! Service was non existent.. waitress disappears after taking our order, never to be seen again. We had to ask 3 people for our bill, we should have just left because no one would have noticed. I felt sorry for the bus boy working his butt off. Management needs to step up! read more

Worst experience at an earls ever! I frequent this chain often on business. I look forward to my visits as I always have experienced consistency... tho this location I must say was awful. The food was good, but the customer service was a NO for me.The staff were extremely unfriendly and just negligent. I felt invisible. Why spend money somewhere so undeserving? I left feeling sad for the future of these kind of chains. read more

My friend and I came here last night and you know what, I was impressed. What a gorgeous Earls restaurant compared to the one close to my home here in Richmond lmao no offence!! We were told that we had a wait time of about 30 minutes when really we got a table in 10. How solid! The interior is gorgeous - such a nice layout. They got a loft as their second floor as well which we couldn't see caz there was an event going on but damn, I'm gonna have to reserve that for a birthday sometime! We were lucky to get a booth that allowed us to do the best people watching haha For food okay, we ordered the wonton and chicken appy, garlic fries, and the caramel toffee dessert. Pictures are posted below! They were SO GOOD!!! Holy smokes the dessert though wow was easily the best of the three. Sensuous AAAFFF!!!! Could've had another but I ain't trying to have my arteries clogged.. for now So why the one star off? Because our server.. never.. asked.. how our food.. was. She handed it to us, and we had to flag her down to ask for the bill. I get it though, it was a busy night.. but.. STILL ‍ Had a great experience regardless! See you again! read more

Another perfect score ! It's been awhile since I my last visit. I found myself here when my girlfriend ( another Yelper) and I were planning on going for half price Satay at Globall next door, but discovered due to the Holidays, they were closed. I was warmly greeted by the hostess who helped me find my friend ( I was without my glasses thus blind ! ) . The waitress quickly came by with water and menus. Our drink orders were taken after being told the special and they arrived super fast. The noise level was low which was nice. We were then able to catch up without having to yell, use note pads or sign language. We ordered our food, which also arrived in no time ( or so it seemed) The Belinis I had here were simply incredible ! I had been at the Earls on Hornby New Years Eve and the ones at that location were not good compared to these! I had the soup (clam chowder ) salad ( harvest crunch ) and Bread ( sour dough ) All were great other then the bread was a bit over cooked, leaving it hard . Waitress was attentive, friendly and fast. The hostesses were great both on the way in and out. Plus the bathrooms are super cool. Thank you Earls once again ! read more

Nice outdoor seating. We went during the winter. However the attendants weren't responsive. I love Earls happy hour but our happy hour wasn't so happy. The queue system is not optimal we had to wait 45 minutes as we stood on our feet at the bar and watched empty tables around the restaurant just sit there stagnantly. The staff nearly couldn't get our order in before Happy Hour was over and after several attempts to flag down the bartenders who are making drinks for the whole restaurant and are super busy, they barely got it rang in literally at 5:59p - we would have ordered sooner but were TRYING to hold out for our table and didn't intend to order food at the bar. Dear Earls Yaletown, You got such a good thing going on with the atmosphere and the menu options - please encourage guests to relax and take a seat and if you're reserving a seat nearly an hour later- all you would have to do is kindly let them know that by a particular time they'd need to get out of that seat. In the Yaletown location lots of girls are wearing high heels on a Friday, like myself. We could have left to go elsewhere to grab food but we stayed there because we were quoted half the time. The server we had once a table was set on the patio was great and we enjoyed the rest of our evening paying non-happy hour prices. Cheers, Your Local Happy Hour Enthusiast read more

Great service. It's a little too dark to read the menus haha. The servers are young attractive women. The food is decent. I like how fast the food comes out. I'd always thought of Earl's as being decent but unremarkable North American white diner food, so imagine my surprise when their Santa Fe chicken salad turned out to be one of the best salads I've ever had in the city. It's a great combination of crispy nacho bits, creamy avocados, generously seasoned chicken, hearty beans and corn, delicious feta cheese, and of course lettuce and a chili lime dressing. But I think the real secret is the dates! There are a lot of dates in here, and they add a rich sweetness and pleasant chewy texture that really takes it to the next level. Most salads with fruit or nuts will skimp, but I felt like I was getting dates in almost every bite! The prices are what you'd expect from Yaletown (not cheap), and the staff are friendly; not a bad place to grab lunch when you're at work, all in all, and definitely worth trying their salad. Frankly, I'm going to look up some recipes and try to make it myself; it was that good. read more

Been in Vancouver 2 weeks with work. Have had great dining experiences - sushi, Thai, Cactus Club, Joey's. I was looking forward to a Sunday dinner at Earl's. Really good cocktails and service at the bar. Asked the Bartender about the ribs and chicken - if the ribs were lean or not. Nick said the ribs do have some fat. OK, I can go there. The ribs were good - I would prefer them leaner, but Nick had told me what to expect. The chicken seemed a little undercooked - and when I got to the raw part, I through in the utensils. I'm not one to make a big deal, but this was bad - I actually hope I don't get ill! They did not charge me, so good on them. read more

I met some old friends for lunch here the other day and our meals were all fabulous and the server was great and the entire dining experience for us all was wonderful. Our server was Robin and she was attentive and super nice. The menu was varied and we all found dishes we wanted, despite our greatly varying tastes: I had a "power salad" with quinoa and avocado (SO good); hubby had a burger; friends had a poke bowl and the Dragon Roll sushi. Everything was brought out promptly, was fresh and delicious, and we all loved everything. I have heard excellent things about this restaurant's Happy Hour, so my husband and I plan on returning. I don't usually go to chain restaurants, but this place was so good, we're definitely coming back. read more

Was here for a holiday party with my coworkers. We had a reservation for 10 people and they were able to accommodate us with plenty of room to spare. We decided to come here because of their happy hour (3-6) which includes food specials as well as drinks. Their happy hour menu seemed to be more extensive than other restaurants/bars which was awesome. They had various specials including 8" Margherita pizzas or garlic fries for $3.50, crispy dry ribs for $7.50, and so on. Since it was a Wednesday, their wings were also on special for $7 per pound. We ordered several appetizers to share, both on the happy hour menu and the regular menu. Everything was tasty and I was really impressed with their garlic fries! They were like steak frites type of fries so the smaller and thinner ones and they were very crispy and flavourful. Other stand out dishes were the hot wings, calamari, and spinach + three cheese dip. But honestly, everything was pretty good. We all enjoyed our drinks as well. I had a Moscow Mule which came in a copper cup which I thought was awesome! It kept my drink cool throughout. I also had a glass of their house white wine which wasn't bad. Overall, had a very enjoyable night with my coworkers. Only minor complaint would be that our server was hard to find once we were ready to get the bill and leave but the restaurant was getting busier so that's completely understandable. Food and drink service was surprisingly quick though and everything came out hot. I will definitely be going back to Earl's during happy hour again. read more

Interesting/odd experience in a recent lunch with a colleague. We visited this location on March 5. On arrival, we were greeted by a nice host and sat down. Our server came by shortly after to take our drink order which we placed. She came back a few minutes later for our food order which we told her we'd need a minute for. It took another 5 minutes for us to find another server to call our original server back at which point we place our food order. Our food came out relatively quickly..here's where it became interesting. For my main course, I had ordered the Kale and Cauliflower Salad (operational word for the rest of this review is "Kale"). When I received my salad, I mixed in the dressing and noticed that there wasn't any kale. I advised my server of this and she said that sometimes it's shredded into the salad. We looked through the salad again and still, zero kale (see photo). We called the server back and let her know. She was apologetic and offered to get us another side bowl of kale. She also laughingly said that she "wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't any kale in the order". My friend and I, both unsure if we heard her correctly, asked if she was stating that she would NOT be surprised if there wasn't *Kale* in the *KALE* and Cauliflower Salad? She confirmed and went back to the kitchen to get us some side kale. A few minutes later she came back with a bowl of greens (see photo). We looked through the bowl and told her what she'd brought us was in fact arugula and not kale. She went back to the kitchen and came back to inform as that whoever was preparing the food (Chef?) wasn't able to tell the difference between kale and arugula. Disappointed and shocked, we asked for the food to be taken away. Our server advised that the Kale and Cauliflower salad would not be on our bill. A few minutes later, someone else (manager?) came by and took our plates. He was apologetic for the mix up and started taking the salad and arugula bowl around the restaurant to see if he could identify the mixup. We received our bill (sans Kale and Cauliflower Salad), paid, and left with a bad taste in our mouth (pun intended). Mix-ups happen but after spending $115+ after tip for two people on a lunch, it's disappointing to see that Earls didn't do more to remedy the situation rather than laughing through a negative experience. We'll consider taking our business to someone who wants it in the future. read more

This place is just gross. Service was as good as can be from a doe eyed young thing that is clearly there because of their looks not their abilities. The food and drinks were just mediocre and overpriced. Walked in on a cold Sunday and they seated us in a loud bar area in a 2 person table crammed between 2 other groups. We were thinking about leaving when the server asked if we needed anything. We told her the situation. Almost instantly the manager said thanks for not leaving we will find you a better table. She found us a nice booth in the main restaurant that was perfect. Sarah was our server and fantastic! Super friendly and helpful. Then the food came out and it got even better. The 3 cheese spinach dip was great with warm soft bread. My Cajun salmon was great with just the right amount of spice with a nice rice. My wife had the warm kale chicken salad and said the only thing she would change was to have it every day! Really good food and a good experience saved by great staff that made us feel like they wanted us here. Well done! read more

They have really comfortable outdoor patio seating. I tried their weekend brunch for the first time and it did not disappoint. I opted for the chorizo and mushroom hash and the eggs were perfectly poached. Portions were great, could not finish and had to take some home even after the spin class. Avocados were perfect. Great service. Also pictured are the eggs benedict and fried chicken and waffles, but I did not have those so I cannot comment too much on them! Me and my husband went there for lunch today around 2pm and greeted with the girl at the door who assign seats (a bigger girl with darker skin) and she told us wait time is 5 minutes, after 20 minutes I went to her and asked about how much longer and she said we are not even in the list because we didn't gave her our names!!! we told her she did not even ask and just told us to wait for 5 minutes. The crazy part was that we had the exact experience with the same girl last time we went there and both times we came out and went to another restaurant close by because she made us feel so bad by being rude and never apologizing at least. I wish management had more supervision but they are busy so I guess they don't even care about reviews. very sad read more

This place has a BRUNCH HAPPY HOUR! With a bunch of delicious brunch items at less than $10 CAD, I'm a happy gal. I had the chorizo eggs benny - everything was so delicious, but I couldn't finish due to how rich the eggs/hollandaise/potato combo was. Well... regardless of Covid I felt slighted and definitely not pleased with the food. The gf had a vegan burger and I had a seafood Thai curry. Neither was anything special. We got the the restaurant at 830, had a couple drinks which were pretty good and when we asked about the happy hour (that starts and has always started at 9pm according to their own website) they said it started at 10pm for food and is inexistent for drinks because of the situation. I mean... this should have been communicated by one of the four people that attended to us (hostess, server or food runner) or have it written somewhere. Either way, this had nothing to do with my 3star review. If I'm gonna spend $120 on four drinks and dinner, I expect something better than what we had. read more

Came for dinner last night as a group of 4, at around 9 PM (Saturday). We were super excited to get a table and were seated right away. Unfortunately, that's where the excitement ended as we needed to wait at least 10 minutes for a server to recognize we had sat down before coming over and asking if we wanted anything alcoholic to drink before the QR code was even activated for us to see the drinks menu. When we did finally order and receive our drinks, one was brought that was incorrect and it took another 20 minutes to fix that (and by that time, the table drinks, were finished). Finally, we were approached to order food! After placing our order for appetizers only, the food arrived promptly, however, we did not receive cutlery, napkins or sharing plates. This would have been fine, if we could have been able to locate a server to remedy this issue. After eventually flagging down the manager to aid in locating our server to get utensils to eat our (now cold) appetizers, we were only then brought silverware by the manager for us to eat. When we decided on ordering our mains, we asked our original waitress if she was able to take our order (as her hands were full with used dishes) and we wanted to know if it were better for her to put them down and come back to our table. She responded rudely, saying "apparently I am not very good at that" (insinuating that we had complained to the manager about not taking our order). A little shocked by this, she still took our second round of drinks order but not our food as her hands were still full. At this point, frustrated and hungry, we asked for a new server for the rest of our evening. Our new server was absolutely amazing and truly saved this dining experience for us! He made sure we were well taken care of, the food arrived promptly and came over frequently to fill our water. The food was delicious as always! We made sure to tip him generous for his much appreciated effort, and while overall, our experience was quite marred by the initial lack of and substandard service, we would come back, hopefully for a more enjoyable time. read more

Great spot with a menu that has something for everyone. After a long day of travel, earls atmosphere and service were just right.

This review is based on going for happy hour. I went to put my name down around 4:30pm for a table of 2 on the patio. I asked when shld I plan to come back and the hostess said it would be around 30-45 mins so I went back at 5:15, and there was still a wait and I was told by another hostess, we do not quote wait times for the patio (yet someone else did), but since my table was apparently next as soon as one opens up. I informed the hostess a table had cleared up and she said she would get it cleaned up and it would be ours. Another 10 mins passes by, and nothing so I went in and asked about my table and said it's been over an hour and they said as soon as one opens up and I said there's been open for over 10 mins and at that point, there were 2 tables open. The mgr, Paul was nice enough to comp our first round of wine as he realized there was a lack of coordination with the wait list. We ordered the Lobster tostadas (fried but not great), and the salmon poke, which was good. Flavorful, light, just enough balance for an early evening appy. The mgr made up for what would have been a poor experience, as I can recognize that Friday happy hour on a nice day to ask for the patio is in demand, and if you're willing to wait it out, take your chances. read more

We were having a lovely lunch (patio, covid restrictions, etc.). When seating at 12:30 we were harshly told that it's a strict 90 minute limit on the table. OK that's fine. We didn't get our order for food taken until 1:05. OK fine. At 2:20 while we are enjoying the last of our drinks, contemplating a dessert and an aperitif - the manager comes along and says " sorry, but we need the table. Would you like another drink before you go". This while, in view, were several empty tables. Very rude. We said no and went to Cactus Club where they were very happy to accept our money. I mean.. what do I say I worked for this company for years, i have a weird kinda loyalty but Im deciding to speak my mind anyway. Really really poor experience. I wonder if it's staffing struggles but i really did not feel valued as a customer. Sat at the bar, told the bartender I wanted to order food, waited 15 minutes while he seemed to avoid eye contact or check on me, spoke to his buddy and did other things. I was so hungry i asked to move to a table. I gave him a weak tip which i never do and maybe the server saw that since i paid her for his bill, and she disappears and doesnt come back to my table for another 25 mins. Im at this place 40mins already still havent been able to order food. See my server now across the room talking to same friend the bar tender was, bet he works here. still hungry af. Feeling ignored.
