I was visiting from Edmonton with some friends and we stopped by this location twice, once on Thursday and once on Saturday (both during happy hour time) and with our luck we got the same server both times. She did not look like she enjoyed working what so ever, and she constantly rolled her eyes at us. There was no guest interaction and to be honest it was just horrible service. Im disappointed because I also work under the Fuller chain and I know that's not the standards. read more

Nice location, though a bit dark. I ordered a Tortilla soup. The soup tasted like a basic tomato purée and came without the tortillas, but also came with bread on the side even though was supposed to be gluten-free. I asked about the tortillas and they brought some on the side, but it was a pitiful amount. We all burst out laughing after the waitress left over the minuscule size and amount of tortillas. I am familiar with Mexican food and can say that there was close to no effort made into creating an actual tortilla soup. Maybe they got tortilla soup and gazpacho mixed up? Another person in our party ordered well done steak but it was medium rare. They did end up not charging for the steak on the bill, which was very nice. Good-wise, there are easily other options that are better than this Earl's. I'd recommend to try Milestone's or Cactus Club instead. read more

Our waitress Cora was very nice to both my wife and I (best waitress I've had in this place). The restaurant itself is a bit pricey for what they offer. Had a tomato soup and a clam chowder, both were delicious. As a main dish my wife had cajun chicken which was ok, nothing special. I got a top sirloin steak which was far from ok it was a bit burnt on the outside. Overall a pleasant experience but as I say is a bit over priced. read more

Test kitchen = test staff and menu. My wife ordered one of the Asian bowls and it didn't say it had onions in it. The entire bowl was covered in onions. Asked the server to order another one and the next one was still covered in onions. This restaurant maybe is testing their kitchen staff along with their new menu. Don't recommend if you want a good meal. read more

This is the only Earls I go to. It is super slick inside, and I love being able to order off their test kitchen menu. Also, they make delicious cocktails - go on Fridays when they're $2 off all signature cocktails. And there is happy hour 3-6pm every day. Perfect if you are watching a movie next door at Scotiabank. read more

Great experience at the Earls Test Kitchen! This is one of our easy "no brainier" locations when we just need a nice quick meal downtown. I ordered the bimbimbap with added strip loin while my boyfriend got the bacon cheddar burger. My bimbimbap was great as always (don't expect it to taste the way actual Korean bimbimbap does; there is no kimchi and is much less spicy, but still really delicious) but the burger came quite burnt and tasted very dry. We let our waiter know, and he quickly and professionally whisked it away and promised a new one in return. A host or manager named AJ came over and let us know that a new one would be whipped up in no time and offered his apologies. The new burger was much juicier (and much less crispy!) and my boyfriend finished it in no time. The waiter came back around and offered us a comped dessert, for which we picked the Gold Digger, an excellent vanilla and chocolate ice cream with caramel and candied peanuts. AJ also came over to ensure we knew our dessert was comped and that everything turned out to our liking. Needless to say, this Earls location fixed a minor mistake in the most professional and gracious way, turning what could've been an inconvenient and less than optimal experience into a memorable reason to return. Good food good people indeed. We'll definitely be coming back! read more

Came into Earl's for drinks. Great service, fun/creative drinks all in a very nice setting. Would certainly return to this location.

Amazing service!!! We had a short wait and the hostess brought us out complimentary appetizers which was cool. Definitely coming back.

Yoko is GREEAAT. We love earls as our go to joint for late night happy hour :) niki and Casey are great too

We ate here a few days ago. Earls is always great! Atmosphere and service was excellent. As this is s rest kitchen, I tried the new tomato bread...not great...either add bruschetta to the menu or order it if it is on the menu. Skip the tomato bread. read more

Sunday December 9th I had an atrocious experience with SkipTheDishes trying to order food from Earls. They kept not sending a courier to pickup my order, and kept delaying delivery time. 2hours went by still nothing so I called Earls and they explained what was going on. I talked to the floor manager (Sarah, I believe) and she was AMAZING. She apologized and said they made the food but nobody picked it up, and then she offered to DELIVER it to my address HERSELF. Above + Beyond customer service. I've never seen anything like it. Well done. I would give this review 6 stars if I could. Give that girl a raise! read more

My apologies to Earls in Vancouver. My review was intended for the Earls in Red Deer. I'm very impressed however with how quickly the Vancouver Earls responded. I still haven't heard anything back from the Red Deer location even though I redirected my review to them read more

Normally I like earls. However this time around the service was awful. When we got to our table there were already two glasses of water sitting there. We knew for a fact that the ppl that were sitting at this table prior to us had taken sips out of cups. They had come back out to the host area saying they wanted a different table. When we told the server she stated the waters were new and clean. She wouldn't bringing us new glasses of water. There were lipstick stains on both glasses. No tip for her. And what poor service. read more

Very good food and drinks, overpriced, but nice for the occasional visit. Service was ok, but nothing special. On days where it isn't extremely busy, the restaurant atmosphere is a nice place to chillax in. (I should also add that they handle busy nights very nicely, and I haven't ever found my food arriving any later than it should.) read more

The best overall dining experience my husband and I had while in Vancouver. We went for lunch and dinner in the same day because we liked it so much. The service is great, the beer is good and the food was fantastic. It gets a little loud in the bar area while the sports are on, but that's to be expected (and encouraged, IMO). We had the pan bread (yum!), spinach dip (excellent!), fettuccine, Cajun chicken sandwich, Mediterranean chicken pasta and the crusted filet. I highly recommend! read more

Love the reno at this Earls! Food is always great, staff is attentive without being overbearing, and seating is comfortable. My only small complaint would be to turn the background music down just a bit to make conversation at the table a bit easier. I'd rather not have to scream to be heard! So we always ask to be seated at the far back. close to the washrooms where it is a little quieter. Other than that - I highly recommend this Earls for good food. read more

Took forever to receive our order...this was especially frustrating as the restaurant wasn't even half full. The server never explained what caused the delay or when the order is coming up. The appetizer came AFTER the main course... The food itself was pretty good but waiting really pissed us off. read more

They water down their alcohol. Food is always subpar and service is not to a high enough standard. They like to have nice looking staff, who are also incompetent. Too many other restaurants in this city to have to settle for Earls. read more

Visited once on a recent trip to the city and really enjoyed Earl's. We went for a few cocktails late afternoon and they had great drink specials. I wish I remember our server's name but she delivered the best service out of the 10+ restaurants we tried on our trip. Tall, blonde, cute and nice. Great combination of relaxed but classy atmosphere and will return. read more

Earl's was recommended to us by a friend. Wow! Great food (had the flank steak and roast chicken off their test menu). The dry chicken wings were really good as well. But the best was the awesome chocolate dessert! To die for!! Highly recommended!! read more

Earls Kitchen + Bar - Awesome dessert! - Canadian (New) Near Me - Vancouver, British Columbia

This is the test kitchen location and it didn't disappoint. The fried chicken off the test menu was delicious as was the Parmesan dip that went with the garlic fries. Synthia was a great employee with very attentive service and a bright personality that was allowed to shine. Great place, highly recommended. read more

Great service by a server named Niki!! super nice and always made sure we were happy with our drinks and food. ill definitely come back to this location read more

Where do I begin...wanted to have a nice dinner for a friends bday, which turned into a disappointing evening. Order sushi, only to be told that they've run out of sushi rice and it would be a "wait" to get some. No problem, we'll wait. 1/2 hr later the sushi comes, but without the rest of our order. call the manager over to explain and he quickly gets the rest of our order. What's even better is our drinks came in chipped glasses and they allowed us to eat with dirty cutlery Won't be going back her any time soon read more

Food was delicious as usual. My server (jasmin?) is who took it next level. My colleague was running fairly late and she kept checking in making sure I was okay. She was bubbly and really friendly. Only complaint is that it's a bit too loud in there for an afternoon read more

Went to Earls Hornby last Friday night with a group of friends and had a great time. Not only was the food really good, but it's such a fun place!! We sat at the bar for a bit first and had some cocktails before sitting down for dinner - don't want to miss out on their drinks - they have the best Bellini's :) What to eat? I like the Santa Fe Chicken Salad, or The Bronx Burger... but every time I go I have to have their fries and the Campfire Smores - so good! read more

I had a great time, the food and service were really good. i went with my gf and it was a really nice experience.

Dude the service here was totally boss! I have been to earls quite a bit and this one has top notch bad ass service.... Downfall was the ever changing menu turning my heart into a glass case of emotion.. Took away that awesome Indian dish.. bad idea.... then took away pizza....added a pizza...was different then the last one ...and then changed it again... DID YOU THINK I WOULDN'T NOTICE! Italian pizza went from awesome meat spice level rad... to watered down tear salad level. Also a Louise Lake Salmon is still a farmed fish in a lake so don't bullshit me ... Drinks were good... service was good.. food is good as long as you stop screwing with my fragile mind. read more

Love this place! I got the whole "dinning room" upstairs booked for me for my birthday this year and the service was amazing! The servers had so much knowledge about everything on the menu. I really felt special on my birthday and what made me feel better was that my friends and family were treated the same way. It brought a smile on my face to see everyone really have a great time and have food just constantly coming out, our glasses were always full and we just had endless amounts of laughs throughout the night. Thank you for the great experience! read more

Good atmosphere. Ordered the 8oz sirloin medium. It came well done. Not too impressed for a $35+ steak. Other than that good food & drinks

My boyfriend and I went in for brunch - ordered eggs benny and chorizo hash. Our food came out quickly and was really tasty. The manager on duty (Annie) was walking around to each table checking on tables meals and was extremely pleasant and friendly - made the experience feel much more personable than most restaurants similar to Earl's tend to be. Will be back to Earl's again for brunch soon! read more

WOOHOO! I'm telling you right now, earl's made my night. I feel like i didn't wanna leave because happy hour is the best deal in the LOWER MAINLAND and me and my friends got Hala and we made her run around so much getting us drinks, fries, calamari, poke, so many things such as straws, napkins, dips, and she always pulled through. Shout out Earls HH (Happy Hour), and more importantly, shoutout Hala for being such an amazing waitress. read more

Well one of my favourite spots in Vancouver to grab some drinks and happy hour but at the bar because getting a table is a bad idea.

I generally don't write Yelp reviews at all but after a recent experience at this Earls location, I felt I needed to for all the new parents out there. THIS LOCATION DOES NOT HAVE HIGH CHAIRS. Who would have thought, a chain restaurant like this doesn't have a single high chair. We were dining here with friends and were told only after we were seated that they did not have any high chairs. Since it was getting later and was getting closer to our 9 month old son's bedtime, we decided to tough it out. The food was okay, and the decor was good but I was unable to really enjoy any of it since my husband and I had to take turns eating because one of us had to be holding the baby in our lap or walking around the restaurant. I realize we are probably not the demographic that this chain restaurant appeals but I don't think a high chair is too much to ask. Shame on Earls for not making this a corporate policy for ALL their locations. read more

The happy hour is excellent! Great variety of food and drinks. The patio is lovely to sit on in the summer! Will definitely come back.

The food is good and the service was great!! Nice touch was sports on the plasma tv at the bar

The service I can honestly say was the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant.we were greeted by the manager and he stated our server was a little busy at the moment and he would grab our order. And that was the last time someone came by our table. Our drinks went empty for the our entire meal until we went up to the bar to grab our own. The bartender (who was great) was shocked that a server had never been by. We finished that round of drinks and still no one came by. We went up again and orderd another round, the bartender again was shocked that no one had come by as he said he told a manager. Then the manager came by apologized and said she would take care of our bill. She noted we had empty waters and drinks and said she would bring us over some waters which never happened. Then our server Vanessa came over and simply said" I didn't know you were my table , the guy that talked to you also had tables" .... . we ordered another beer in hopes that there would be some sort of redemption. NOTHING. We then noticed the manager drinking at the bar and the server dancing with other servers ? Another server brought our drinks that were just sitting up as our server danced away, beside the manager. It became so uncomfortable that we just wanted the bill so we could leave. We asked Vanessa for the bill which took 20 minutes to bring over . And shocking the manager did not take care of the bill , we expected to pay for our drinks because we ordered additional beverages after that. But simply a round of drinks was taken off. The manager that started our order to begin with took our payment and was apologetic and gave us a 25$ gift card. Great. We now have a gift card to a place that made us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. I work In the service industry, I get mistakes happen but once the mistake has been addressed you can't keep being a terrible server. We gave numerous opportunities for someone to redeem themselves and we aren't a high maintenance table. Drinks are empty "hey would you like another " that's it . That's all we wanted . And that's exactly what we should have gotten . read more

I have been to many restaurants across the country and this is by far the best restaurant for their service! Not exactly gracious hosts. Business is doing really well at this place so they can live without your patronage. So, they treat you like trash because they couldn't care less if they lose a few customers. In the winter, when I went to Earls, this place was not properly heated so I had to eat with my jacket on because it was too cold. The waiter didn't make any conversation or show any interest in us. No goodbye or thank you. They just rush you in and rush you out. I felt like if I looked at one of the staff the wrong way, they'd throw us out of there. Yes, Earls has a lot of pizzazz, cute waitresses, and great tasting food, but at least at this location, they lack soul, heart, and kindness. I won't be returning. read more
