Came out for happy hour recently during the week, so I was surprised when nobody greeted me when I walked in. I tried to wait to be acknowledged, but ultimately just walked in to the bar to hopefully get some better service because all staff were focused on one guest. The bar was packed, and the service didn't really improve. Got the sense that because I was alone and there for happy hour, they didn't think I would tip well and therefore didn't deserve good service. There are better happy hours in Miami. read more

This was such a disappointing experience. Firstly, we were a large party - 10 people. We had a reservation and it still took the restaurant 35 mins to seat us. Our table had one server assigned. This wouldn't be that bad if she was efficient but she was new. Like less than 2 weeks at this restaurant. She struggled the entire night. To top it off, we were sat on the patio and in the back away from all other guests. Privacy would usually be great however, it was sweltering hot that evening and the staff kept forgetting to check back and refresh our water. In fact, everything was super slow coming out. Food. The kitchen was out of of key items. Again, sucks but it was how things were handled. We placed our drinks and appetizers. Then main entrees. It was nearly 30-40 mins after we were waiting for our entrees before we were told that certain items in the kitchen were no longer available. WTH?! The steaks were well vs med rare and cold. The salmon was well and dry. I would keep going but you get the drift. After a day of travel, it was just a really rough night. read more

This place is literally a 4.5. Our service from our waitress Brenda, was superb. We got here at opening and to our surprise, everything was up running and ready to go. I had the steak and eggs from the brunch menu. The steak from the happy hour morning menu is only 3 ounces. My wife had the Sesame Citrus Noodle Bowl with Ahi. The bowl was amazing. The service is also outstanding. The staff is very polite, prompt and friendly. Unfortunately, the food and drinks did not live up my expectations. I used to come here often, not so much anymore, but I was in the area with a friend and asked if he wanted to stop in for a bite since he's never been. He was super excited since he's heard good things about them and I too was excited as I've never had a bad experience. I made a super fast reso from the parking area and headed up. We were greeted by a friendly girl named Ella at the hostess stand who was accommodating to our request to change our seating from outside to inside and took no time to seat us. We eagerly looked at the menu and within 1-2 min was greeted by our server (I forgot his name). We ordered our drinks and a tuna tataki to start. Drinks came out fast, tuna took a little time. When it arrived for us to share, the server brought us both chopsticks but no plates. We were passing the tuna back and forth every bite. It was ok. It wasn't great. Mushrooms sat on the side with a piece of a cauliflower, neither really belonged. By this point we already ordered our food. My friend got the rib eye and I asked for the chicken lettuce wraps but substitute the chicken for shrimp. The server said he assumed the kitchen would be able to do that for me. Being in the industry myself, I knew I was going to pay extra and had no issues with that. The server came back to the table shortly after to explain the up charge and ask if we also wanted the chicken since it will still be coming with it. I've never heard of this before when you substitute one protein for the other but my friend said he wanted it. Server then came back to tell me that the kitchen was confused about how to handle my request. Apparently there was less shrimp than chicken so they needed to know how I want my wraps prepared. WTH? I want it just like the chicken wrap but with shrimp. After some time of trying to figure the chefs job out for him, I told the server just to surprise me. Maybe had the Sous chef been BOH rather than sitting at the hostess stand for 20 min, they could have asked him for his advice rather than mine. The server brought out my plate of food with 6 shrimp in a bowl surrounded by lettuce and shredded carrots. The description said it came with puffed rice and cucumbers also. I asked where both were. He pointed to the 2 green strands in between the carrots and said "that's the cucumber, do you want more." I said yes, and I also asked for the rice. He took my plate and said he would be right back. 5 min later Ella came back with my food, placed it right in front of me and off she went. I was shocked. They literally took the shrimp out of the bowl, put it into the lettuce, removed 2-3 of the lettuce wraps because there wasn't enough shrimp to wrap ratio, and added some sauce. Ok but where is the puffed rice and the cucumber the server said he was taking it back to add? You know, the ingredients listed on the menu which came with the chicken! Since Ella turned out to be a manager and said absolutely nothing to me about the missing food, didn't apologize for bringing it back still missing, I didn't want to be "that person" and just ate my food as it came. It was good, don't get me wrong. Just the whole process was annoying and didn't make any sense to me. We asked for the check and noticed the wraps were taken off the bill but still confused how no one came over to explain what happened, why it happened or apologize for it happening. Def not the same service and experience I've had there in the past and prob won't be going back with someone who's never been there before again. I also didn't mention that my friend said his steak was over cooked. He asked for medium and got medium well. read more

We were so excited to dine at Earls, as it has been a favorite spot of ours. A group of 8 of us dined there on a Friday night. Appetizers and drinks arrived on time, and were delicious. Our dinner took about 2 hours to be served... we kept wondering how parties, same size as ours, who arrived much later than we did, were getting served before us. I understand situations arise and cause delays, however, seeing other parties who were seated after us get served, left us with an overall uncomfortable feeling. We were reassured over the course of 1.5 hours that our food was "coming out soon", so we waited it out. Cajun Blackened Chicken was super good along with the warm potato salad. It also comes with coleslaw which to me it's super dry and the Kale which is also very dry not a good mix and they add so much Kale. Hello everyone! So I found myself cruising Dadeland Mall with my significant other on a Saturday night when a case of the hangries started coming on. Luckily we were near Earl's Kitchen and Bar and we both decided to stop in for a bit to eat. We hand been here for brunch in the past on Sunday's which was awesome but have never been here for dinner. Upon entering we were greeted and within 15 minutes we're at our table. Staff were very friendly and our server was awesome as well. Happy to report that the bar is well stocked and the Old Fashioned's were awesome as well. Knob Creek Rye anyone? Our server gave us a rundown of the menu and within 15 minutes we were digging in to our Four Cheese Spinach Dip with Tortilla Chips which was excellent. For our main courses tonight I was in a Vegan mood and orders the Impossible Burger with the fries which was excellent. We also tried the Tofu and vegetables bowl which was great as well. That said, don't worry as they have something for everyone we just decided to order from the vegan section of the menu on this occasion. From what I could tell the Seafood and Steak options looked great as the kitchen was in full force and not slowing down. Things were really hopping as their was live music this particular evening which was awesome as well. No one to go out with, no problem as the bar area was pretty busy and everyone was making the best of it from what I can see; however, I think Wednesday nights are the best nights for Happy Hour so you may want to check it out. Al in all it was a great experience and affordable to boot as well. We will definitely be back to take some other menu options for a test drive. So if you find yourselves in the vicinity of Dadeland Mall or are heading over to do some shopping, you may want to head on over and give them a try. They are on the second floor at Dadeland Mall near the main entrance right over the TESLA store. Parking will not be a problem as you can self park or valet, your call. We're not new customers of this restaurant, yet special shout outs are always worth making. We visited Earl's this afternoon to have our usual sushi, delicious truffle fries, and amazing cocktails. The menu had changed, but as always for the better. Our exceptional server Isis's recommendations were on point. The Yuzu Calamari was excellent, but the salmon press sushi was star quality. Cute spot for weekend dinner + drinks. Our bartender was really attentive and had a great disposition -- he even offered to make us custom drinks! We shared the Tuna Tataki and while I was not a huge fan of it because of the overly lemony marinade, the tuna itself was fresh and sliced well. I was super surprised by the Spicy Tuna roll.
