17MAR2026 5 stars…read more We just had a new heat pump installed. I am happy. The process was very smooth. It all started when I thought about replacing our 15-year-old A/C unit. Fifteen years is near end-of-life and I would rather replace at our convenience and not on a burning hot July day. I contacted B&B via the form on their website and they called back within 20 minutes. Frank (sales rep) came for a visit that afternoon. We discussed all the possible actions and both of us decided the best option would be a direct A/C replacement. The important factors were 1) our A/C unit was on the roof, 2) you don't save a lot of money ($50-80/year) by spending more for a higher SEER. Frank came back the next day with a quote for 3 options: direct replacement, 2) slightly more efficient A/C, 3) heat pump for a much higher list price. But, Carrier's discount and Xcel's huge rebate made the heat pump the cheapest option. We live in a duplex so we and our neighbors decided to both replace the A/C with heat pumps. About $6100 including everything. We did do more research--just to be sure. Scheduling was easy via emails (we had to coordinate 2 households) and B&B sends text reminders, etc. We paid via ACH because "A convenience fee of 2.5% will be added to any credit card transaction." They came on time as scheduled. The crane hoisted the new equipment onto the roof and removed the old. The crew was friendly and kept us informed about the process. Completed within 2 days. Manny provided thorough instructions on how to use our new system. 05JUN2020 4 stars I am happy. Excellent service. Our A/C went out on 28MAY2020. I called B&B and they scheduled us for a repair visit on 05JUN2020 (first date available). They sent me an email confirmation. They called the day before with a reminder. Marco arrived 1 hour and ten minutes early. He spent 1/2 hour here and replaced the capacitor and our AC is working. Yea. They sent me a PDF version of the bill 5 days later. $250 USD. P.S. No one gets 5 stars on first experience.

When I contacted them to come back out and inspect the work they already did, I was told they would charge me $140 an hour just to look at it. For the amount of money I spent, I expected the repair to last longer than a few months and for the company to stand behind their work. Instead, I feel completely dismissed as soon as another issue came up. I would not recommend this company based on my experience.

After contacting several HVAC companies I found on YELP, I went with Quality because they were responsive, quoted me a fair price and could get me in for service the same morning that I called. Curtis was nice to work with on the phone and Justin and Allan came within the time window I was given. They could not have been more professional, kind and patient with all of my questions. Justin even showed me that there was a permanent filter in the furnace that I had no idea existed, AND he and Allan showed me how to clean it and re-install it. They made sure the thermostat was working properly before leaving and I could not be happier about the entire experience.

From the jump there were red flags; in retrospect I should have realized and not chosen them, but alas. Hopefully this review can save others the money and headache! Our HVAC system was antiquated and needed replacing, so I reached out to Quality Home. I was given a quote $3,000 over my budget. When I said as much they immediately said they could meet me at my price point which makes me wonder... Why the high quote to begin with? Where would that extra $3k have gone? The day of the install went okay. They took a few hours longer than they said they would which disrupted my workday, but fine - I can understand that. I was never sent photos of the condenser on the roof which I was promised - I had to ask a few times to get those. Our new HVAC worked well for a few weeks, then started randomly shutting off. During peak heat times. I'd come home from work to a boiling house. Our thermostat kept saying it was running too long with no change in temperature. I brought this up to my contact at the company - a director level guy - and he told me my thermostat was "trash" and it needed to be replaced. Me, knowing nothing about this stuff, went along and agreed to pay the $400+ for a new thermostat. It turns out that the actual issue was that the folx doing the installation wired the entire thing incorrectly. I was still charged full price for the thermostat/install and offered no apology. My old thermostat was better and easier to use. Fast forward a few months and I noticed our HVAC was leaking water. I called them in a panic as we were going out of town, it was the heat of summer, and I didn't want our cat to overheat. They were able to come out quickly (for a high fee) and told me the leaking was due to us not changing our filter frequently enough. I was again charged $400+ for this. It seemed weird to me that a dirty filter would cause leaking, but again... not my area of expertise. I took their advice and started changing our filter at the cadence recommended. Guess what? Still leaking. A LOT. This is definitely an HVAC issue, not a filter issue as our filters are pretty pristine. I've been trying to get in touch with my same contact (and others) for literal weeks and am being met with total silence. I want to talk to someone about this but it appears that professionalism isn't a value of Quality Home HVAC. Moral of the story? Absolutely go with a different company - I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone.

After about an hour of troubleshooting he discovered the issue. The waterline (if I remember correctly) wasn't giving the system enough of what it needs. He addressed it and the house now cools properly and isn't on for hours at a time. That said their customer service is super great. I decided to hire them again to maintain the furnace at our new place (sold and bought a new house) and as per usual the customer service was really good HOWEVER the technician forgot to tighten our gas line to the furnace. We noticed a gas smell and had to call Xcel in to investigate. They discovered the loose line and tightened it. Kind of a serious oversight! I didn't dock any stars for it, but I do feel like additional training or checklists should maybe be used before a tech leaves a home.

Our 2 story house is roughly 3300 sq ft including the basement. The builder previous name William Lyon at the time installed all the homes with a 2.5 Ton Rheem A/C. Based on my amateur research a 3000 sq ft house should of required a 4-5 Ton system to effectively cool the house. After just one year the A/C was not cooling down below 75. TM warranty department called Eastside and sent out Efren the tech to diagnose the problem he found out the TXV (thermal expansion valve) was bad and ordered the part for replacement. Efren came back a week later and replaced the part and he was very detailed and friendly and even cleaned the coils inside the A/C fan. Now the A/C is much better and I can cool down to 70 degrees on a hot day. I've heard conflicting answers on wether or not to close vents in basement for more airflow to upstairs. What I did is I kept one basement vent open but closed rest of them and upstairs does indeed get more cooler air. One more thing I learned is that A/C systems do not draw fresh air from the outside instead they recirculate indoor air. With all the recent smoke pollution, it's actually better to keep windows closed and use A/C. Even though I believe our builder A/C is undersized for the house, but the team at Eastside have been very helpful and professional and I highly recommend them for HVAC work. Nothing is better than chilling in a cool house when it's 100 degrees out. Good job and thanks Efren!
