The home we have had for 39 years is over 60 years old and the windows were badly in need of replacement. We wanted Andersen windows and our first quote was from the national Andersen Window advertisement we always get in the mail. We were shocked by the price to replace only 8 of the 12 windows in our house. Our second quote was from Ryan at Eagle Window and Doors. The price quote for all twelve of our windows was approximately 1/3 of the price quoted for only 8 windows. Eagle proceeded to do the work, and we are extremely pleased with the result. Eagle was easy to work with and very helpful in researching what kind of Andersen windows we wanted - we got different glass types for different facing windows which makes our house cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. It has been two years now and we couldn't be happier. Our electric bill is much lower and we have had no problems whatsoever. Installation was quick and professional. Eagle Window and Door saved us from wasting over $17,000 on a sliding door. We received a quote from another company that was $17,000 more than the Eagle quote for the same sliding door. Dena spent nearly an hour with us talking through all of the different sliding door options including glass and material quality. Not only that, Dena taught us that white isn't always white and helped us order the correct color... had she not done that we would have ordered a "white" door that is actually grey. Needless to say we ordered the sliding door from Eagle Window and Door. It arrived on time with the specifications correct. The quality was well beyond what we expected and we could not be happier. The initial appointment and communication was great, but the communication with the contractor was subpar. Eagle did not communicate with the contractor that the windows did not arrive on the expected truck, and so we were ready to proceed when the windows had not actually arrived. Window treatments were taken down well earlier than necessary, and the planning for the install was scattered and disorganized. When we brought this to Dena's attention, she was rude and impolite. I am not impressed with their communication and organization. read more

We had a very good experience using Eagle Window and Door to replace our front door, side lights and transom. The sales rep, Ryan, was very thorough in discussing the different options and costs. The door unit was delivered within the time frame he quoted, and the installation process, including removal of the old door and transom, only took 1 day. I requested a quote on window replacement over 6 months ago and got an appt easily enough, had someone come out, measure and quote me on both new windows and some re-glazing and was told that I couldn't have the installation labor quote until their sub-contracted installer came out to remeasure. -- that also happened - over 5 months ago. ...and then crickets..... I made phone call after phone call after email after email to both the installer and the mother ship only to be told EVERY SINGLE TIME: I will call him and tell him to get you the quote.... or he had bad reception and couldn't call you....or he promised he'd have the numbers to you by 3 this afternoon....or what? He hasn't called you? He said he would... I'll call him again.... or we'll have his son call you with the quote and get this done... or we really do think he's our best installer and could have someone else install, but he really is the best, let us call him again.... this -- AD NAUSEAM. This is NO EXAGGERATION. There have to have been at least 20 (TWENTY!) different phone calls, phone messages and email messages to no avail. Even making statements about being pissed off and how their 'wonderful best installer' was losing them over $15K in business and yet.... still crickets. Now even the sales rep won't call back or follow up on his promises and he has turned out to be as careless in business as their installer. I guess they just decided they couldn't be bothered anymore and I was too stupid to see that they were just yanking me along for months. Do yourself a favor; don't even bother calling this company for a quote and if you do --- run hard and fast if the installer that they assign you is J&F Glass (Jesus) --- because, apparently his phone just doesn't work - like ever. :( TERRIBLE company to (try to) do business with. read more

Lack of communication on that we needed to have contractors do prior to window and door install which is now delaying installation one month or more after 4 months waiting for product to arrive. Eagle Window & Door installed an Andersen patio slider for us. We were pleased from estimating, to ordering to install. The door took a few weeks to be ordered, which was to be expected. Communication was very good. I was able to coordinate stucco demo and repair on my own. The installers were on time, polite, clean, and courteous. They were careful of our wood floor and made sure that it was protected. I recommend Eagle Window & Door! read more

Our primary residence is in the East and our second home is at Lake Tahoe, CA. When we decided to replace all the window in our Tahoe home we researched via internet vendors of window that could serve our needs. Through cross-country email and telephone communications with Ms. Starman at Eagle Windows and Doors, we found her extremely understanding of our circumstances and needs. Consequently, we placed the entire order with Ms. Starman and throughout the entire process she exhibited extremely high (1) professionalism, (2) knowledge of product and installation requirements, and (3) scheduling flexibility. The installer for the company is Mr. Lopez, who has had decades of experience and manages an experienced and skillful crew. I traveled to Tahoe to monitor the installation, but soon realized I could have stayed in the East because of the extremely high professionalism, diligence, skill, and dedication to complete customer satisfaction that I observed in Mr. Lopez. We have two bay windows from Eagle Windows. The living room window is 5' x 10', is south facing with a wonderful view of the valley and the mountains, but was very very drafty. No one would speak with us about a replacement window to the full size of the opening except Eagle Windows. And they helped us with a bay window to boot.....Jennifer was awesome to work with. No question was too "dumb" and her calculations and time line was perfect - that makes it a whole lot easier when working with a contractor. We love the big bay so much that we went back for seconds! When we remodeled our kitchen, we had Eagle Windows build a garden window. We were able to widen the opening during construction which allowed for a window 48" wide. Working at the sink has become a pure joy as I watch the birds and bees (we have a hive!) and I have fresh herbs for cooking, year around, without going outside. The process for both windows was effortless. What we anticipated to be difficult was actually all in a days work. We are contemplating building a new home next year. Without a doubt, we will get all of our windows from Eagle Window and Door Company. read more

I built my beautiful new two-story house in 2010, and all of my windows came from Eagle Window and Door Company. I began having trouble with two of my remote windows after a couple of years, and - to my great surprise - the company that sold and installed the windows for me refused to come out or to try to fix the problem but instead gave me Andersen's 888 number to call. An Andersen's representative told me - over the phone - to call a local repairman, and that I would need to pay for any repairs out of my own pocket. I called the independent contractor (what were my choices?) and when he came out he was unable to get my remote windows to work - although he really did try his best. My remote windows are now stuck in the closed position (this is fortunate because it's getting cold out there), but they now appear to be both in-operable and un-repairable. If I had known that my expensive remote windows were going to fail in less than five years - and that no one was going to be able to fix them - even if they wanted to do so, which Eagle Windows emphatically does not - I would have opted for a less expensive window. If I had known that Eagle Window and Door was going to be completely hands-off and disinterested when this happened I probably would have opted for a different window company too. Update: October 2015 - I now have five inoperable Andersen's Windows in my two-story house, three of which are the old-fashioned hand-crank style, and two of which are high-up and used to be remotely operated with an electric wall-mount (when they worked.) Update: August 2017 - Good news! Andersen Windows sent two men out to fix my windows, and now they all work (except for two of the remote windows), and I'm pretty sure that I now know what I need to do in order to get them to work. Thank you, Bette for sending Andersen out, and thank you, Andersen, for spending more than three hours at my house fixing all that you could to the best of your ability. Andersen didn't charge me anything for what they did while here, although from now on I will be responsible for any work that I get done. This means that I will be paying for the labor on the repair of the two remote windows that are still inoperable, BUT Andersen left me with the necessary parts - for free - and they were GREAT about repairing everything else at no charge to me. I am going to change the status of my review today! (In all fairness I do need to factor in the number of years this took. Sorry.) read more

Best customer service EVER! Our house has 90's-era Eagle patio doors, and due to the extreme weather conditions of Tahoe, a couple of the locking mechanisms were very sticky after 25 years of use. I had three contractors tell me there was no way to fix them and I had to get new doors. Then I called Eagle in Reno directly, and received the best customer service I've ever had from any store! Jennifer not only solved my problem with one phone call, ordering replacement mechanisms for me, but she also explained how I could do the job myself, without wasting money on a contractor. She sent clear, detailed instructions by email and responded when I had questions. She literally saved me thousands of dollars, and was incredibly friendly and patient with my lack of knowledge about doors. She gets a gold medal for customer service in my book. read more

We had a house fire, and wanted to upgrade our windows and add a French door. Jennifer was extraordinarily helpful, making sure we got the right configuration -- she carefully went over all the details with us before we ordered. The owner (Doug) came to the house to meet with our contractor to be sure the window framing was going to work, the trim was complete, and the finish carpenter understood the instructions for installation. Our finish carpenter was able to go directly to the shop on 4th Street to get extra jamb extenders. Surprisingly, Eagle's Anderson E-Series windows were less expensive than those at Home Depot. It was reassuring to go over our design with Jennifer and know that everything would be as we wished, and to know that all the parts would arrive with the windows.
