My sliding glass door handle lock broke which made the door not lock and seal. With winter coming and the warranty company for the sliding door not responding to my emails or calls, I had to contact someone to help fix this problem. Capital Glass came out to observe the situation and see what they needed. They knew just the tiny metal part to order. I had gone to Home Depot and Lowe's to look for this piece and ended up buying a new door handle package. When I brought it home I realized it was a waste and not the correct handle for my door and the pieces would never have worked. I confirmed with Capital Glass that I wanted work to be done after I received my quote from them. Ugh, $200, I said ok because I knew if I didn't get it done now it would just stress me out thinking about it and winter would come and go then I'd be dealing with this again next year. Dave contacted me to schedule a good time to start work on this handle. He and his colleague showed up right on the dot to the second. Talk about prompt and to the point. They were literally at my house for 7 minutes! I saw on the invoice that the piece was $20 and the remaining $180 is their labor fee. Dang, $180 for 7 minutes of labor :( Anyways this review is for how reliable Capital Glass is and how KIND Dave and his colleague were to me. They were just the sweetest guys ever! We had 10 windows replaced in our house. I must say the timeliness of the estimate, ordering the windows, and installation, were outstanding. they were about a week earlier than expected on installation. The employees answered all of our questions starting from their office employees and the crew at our house. They removed all the old windows and debris and hauled it away and cleaned the area where they worked. I could not have asked for a better experience or customer service. We will be using them again for the last 3 windows wed want replaced. I highly recommend them for all your window and glass needs. You will not be disappointed! read more

One of the most weird experiences I ever had with any "window" company. I called for an estimate and was able to get an appointment for measurements pretty quickly. Gregg was great, did all measurements, provided a lot of professional insights and tips. In the end he apologized that the estimate may take some time, since they were quite busy - "a couple of weeks". Well, it was back in May, now is October - I am still waiting for that estimate! I've pinged Gregg a couple of times, the last one was in July... No response, not even "sorry, we are not interested in the project" read more

Was told they would get back to me the same day with a quote and an appointment to fix my windows at the house (a fix that they originally did a couple of years ago but broke again). I never received either one, so I called back the next day to inquire about what was going on. I was told that someone would call me back that day. I never received a call back. Here is why I gave 2 stars to capital glass. I recently bought a house where the windows and sliding glass doors needed upgrading. I looked around in town for different window companies and someone recommended Capital Glass. My experiences with them are summarized below: First: At the beginning, one of their customer service representatives was not friendly and unhelpful. She kept her answer short and without explanation; mainly yes and no. I spoke to a different customer service representative a few weeks later. This representative was very helpful in offering suggestions and explanations. She suggested the technician to come out to the house for evaluation. The technician was on time and answered all my questions. He was professional. The quote I received was several thousands dollars over several other quotes I received. However, I heard good reviews about Capital Glass so I chose to go through them. Second: When the time came for the new windows and patio doors to be installed, their glass tech's were on time daily and finished the job within the time they quoted. However, at the end of the job, the house was left with exposed wood surrounding windows and doors. No effort was even made to replace the siding or even touch up to help the replacement material fit in with the house. Within the last week part of the wood frame surrounding one of our windows popped out of place. When I talked to the technician about it, he said that they do not do painting or finishing, that I would need to hire a handyman to finish the job. I have previously hired an electrician and a plumber to come out and fix or update equipment in my house. On both occasions they made altercations at around the house, but they made sure to repair the altercation to blend in with the house. It was never explained to me from the start that I would need to hire a handyman to finish their job. Otherwise, I would have taken my business elsewhere. Third: When one of the customer service representatives called to ask me about my level of satisfaction with the job, I expressed my concerns about the exposed wood around the house and the need for the touch up. The rep said that their manager would contact me to follow up on my concerns. I have not heard back from their manager to address my concerns about the unfinished job at my house. The only thing I have received from them was a letter requesting payment. It is rather unprofessional for the manager to not even follow up with the paying customer to address their concerns with the product. read more

The seals on our front windows were slowly drying out, allowing moisture into the window panes. We called Capital Glass to get replacements, and initially were told it would be approximately 2 months to replace (this was back in February when there were lots of production delays). I called later, and they said that the windows would actually be ready in only 4 weeks! The installers came, I'm still giving 5 stars, but they played their music really loud, and left grimy handprints on the brand new window (and didn't clean it up). The receptionist was initially grumpy on the phone, but nothing that a little kindness couldn't change :). read more

We called 2 weeks ago today to set up an appointment to get our sliding glass doors fixed. We were told that a service person would get back to us that week to set up a date and time. After one week of no response, we called again. Got the same run around and empty promise. Still haven't had a call back. This company does not care about the people who need help. It took over two weeks to get an estimate. The estimator was very good about listening and making suggestions, but he told me I would receive my quote in three to four days. When I called over a week later they couldn't tell me when the estimate would be ready, and Kendra seemed put-off by the fact that I would expect a concrete answer, responding with "I don't know if you just hear me but...". I made it very clear to the estimator that I wanted to get the shower glass installed by Thanksgiving, and he assured me that would be no problem even with the lead time. I think two months lead time would be sufficient for a very simple straight opening but apparently not. I can appreciate some delays given the COVID issues, but I don't think that rudeness by the individual who answers the phone is acceptable. read more

I can review this company based only on customer service since no one called me back after promising to contact me within 3--5 business days to fix a malfunctioning sliding door. The woman on the phone was abrupt and rude, and the lack of follow-up suggests that the company doesn't seem to care about customers who need minor service. I certainly understand the Reno market right now given the spectacular growth in construction. However, if these people don't want to deal with small potatoes, then they should say so up front and perhaps suggest another provider. That's exactly what happened when I contacted Thompson Doors, whose rep gave me the number of two other services. That's how to do business. read more

We called Capital Glass after a two year period of never being able to fix a very leaky sunroom. When we bought the house we shared a fix with the sellers. It did not take. We had the fixing company come back and that fix did not last the first winter. We covered the sunroom with a big tarp, the second winter. Capital Glass gave us an estimate and promised that the roof would not leak, this last, very rainy, Reno winter. We found it hard to believe it would not leak. The work was done in the fall of 2018 The sunroom glass did NOT leak. NOT A DROP, all fall and winter long. Chris came out to our home and was professional, friendly, knowledge and helpful! What a great guy and a reflection of a good company.
