That's more than Hershey Park, Kings Dominion, and Water Park USA. Which all have better water parks. However.... I was told, verbatim, that they were "rolling out the red carpet" for me, my wife, and our three young children to attend a presentation in exchange for a complimentary stay. We scheduled our overnight stay for 06/06/26, with the presentation set for 8:00 AM on 06/07/26. We drove six hours each way specifically for this promotion. Upon arrival, we were informed that amenities we had been promised, including access to the water park, were not included. We were then told that the tours had been overbooked and that our presentation would need to be rescheduled to later the following day--well after our checkout time--which simply would not work for our family. The staff, particularly the managers, were some of the rudest and most unprofessional employees I have ever encountered. Rather than attempting to resolve the situation, we were repeatedly told to call various phone numbers ourselves. No one showed any genuine concern or willingness to help. I was so shocked by the lack of professionalism that I recorded my interaction with Assistant Manager Joanne, who refused to involve another manager and repeatedly instructed me to call different numbers the next day to address the issues. When those numbers were called, no one answered except for one employee who informed us that we had reached the wrong department. The entire experience was a disaster, and we hadn't even made it out of the lobby. Another employee continued asking whether we still wanted to stay. After explaining that we no longer wished to remain given everything that had happened--but that they already had our deposit--she abruptly canceled our reservation and walked away, stating that she was done speaking with us. As a result, we packed up our family and drove another six hours back home. We wasted an entire weekend, spent countless hours traveling with three young children, and were treated with complete indifference and disrespect. I would strongly caution others against booking based on promotional offers from this establishment, as our experience was nothing short of unacceptable.

(Please note the dates on other reviews are over three years old. This reflects the current…read moreexperience.) I wanted to love the Cave Hill Farm B & B. The description and online reviews painted a picture of a quaint antique-filled farmhouse. This is true. I loved the antiques! The player piano and some furnishings reminded me of my childhood home. The innkeepers showed us around the first floor of the B & B and told us Keurig coffee was available anytime. We were told we could use the wine glasses on the buffet and there were bottles of water in the mini-frig near the dining room. They brought us to the Bridal Room, which was furnished in antiques. We asked for a restaurant recommendation and were not disappointed with their suggestion of Hank's Grill. When we returned later reality set in. There was no water in the mini-refrigerator. There was no closet, the armoire was too dirty and dusty to place our belongings, and the only hook fell off the bathroom door. The following evening we noticed our room had not been tidied, we had already made the bed but towels were not replaced, the shower gel dispenser which was almost empty hadn't been refilled, and the single tiny waste basket was not emptied. I am aware many hotels and inns eliminated daily cleaning since COVID, but it was not noted on the Cave Hill B&B website, nor did the innkeepers inform us. There should have at least been additional towels delivered outside our door, or four sets of towels in the room the first day and shampoo and shower gel filled. The first-morning juice glasses and a beautiful empty pitcher were on the breakfast table but there was no juice or water, therefore no beverages for non-coffee or tea drinkers. When we returned that night the walkway was so dark I needed a flashlight. We planned to have wine on the deck off the upstairs hallway. (The deck was a plus.) There was only one wine glass and it had a fingerprint. The following morning no glasses were on the breakfast table and there was still no water. We would have loved to learn more about the farm and cave but the only times we saw the innkeepers were at check-in and breakfast and that was only for a few minutes while she placed the breakfast on the table. We did not see the innkeepers, nor get a "Hope you enjoyed your stay" at check-out, the process is to leave the key in a basket. Cave Hill B & B is an interesting property with lots of potential but it needs a good cleaning and some Virginia hospitality.

I got a guided tour of the history and its history, Wow! I stayed in the gold room and I loved it! Big, so comfortable, clean, with original decorations. I felt like in a real living old-time home. As of why it is called the Gold Room - you will see the funny story on that in the room! Breakfast was so good: freshly made and generous, served with a smile. I would gladly come back!

Very well stocked and enormous kitchens, high ceilings, large windows and situated beautifully on Massanutten Mountain. Wish they had propane instead of electric fireplaces, but other than that, this place is great. Most of the units appear to have the major stuff updated (Kitchens, Baths & more) but it is a more rustic with older decor, but okay to put your feet on the coffee table sort of place perfect for families. Our week was 48--right in the middle of nothing. It's the height of off-season, so understand that my review may be tainted by the fact that most "things" are closed, there's no snow, and everyone is gearing up for the storms to come. The condo was nice. Well-equipped and cozy. Kids loved playing in the downstairs "hot tub," but the water got cold before the entire spa was filled. Upgrades will be needed at some point...but not sure that they'll survive the timeshare tradition. I was lucky to find someone willing to take this off my hands. Paying the annual fee was only slightly less than 3-4 nights at a decent hotel elsewhere. If you're able to buy into RCI and enjoy the benefits of banking and playing the weeks/points game, this is a decent start. I wouldn't return every year. Particularly in the off-season.

Never had any issues with payment after rental and take care of everything. I don't even have to think about it! They take a commission for listing and managing the rental but it's comparable to other vacation rental companies out there and it's worth it since I don't have to be bothered by it. Only thing I wish they did have was a way to check the status of your listing (ie if it is rented and for how long) without having to email them directly and wait for a response. Our group of 20 was scheduled to stay during the severe winter storm in Virginia in late January, when the state had declared a state of emergency and roads were widely reported as impassable. For safety reasons, we did not attempt the trip and never stepped foot in the property. Despite these extraordinary circumstances, TripForth refused to issue a refund or even offer a credit toward a future stay. As a result, we lost over $2,000 for two nights at a house we could not safely reach. While weather is uncontrollable, management's response was entirely within their control--and they chose to show zero flexibility, empathy, or consideration for guest safety. For a large family group, this was an extremely costly and frustrating experience. I strongly caution future guests: if anything goes wrong, do not expect reasonable communication or accommodation from this management company.

And I'm talking courses where the public can play without paying an arm and a leg. The course was immaculate today, and I was happy to meet the Superintendent (Paul Marshall) out on the course to tell him so. It has been a long hot summer, and some of my favorites are lagging, but not "The Nut". Tee boxes and beautiful bent grass fairways are lush, and the greens are presently in the best shape I've seen them in five years playing here. The scenery alone makes the course worth a look. It is the most difficult course I play, and if you want to introduce a visitor to Virginia mountain golf, this would be a good place if they are not heavy slicers. With few exceptions, every fairway is sloped left to right, with uncleared "wild" forest awaiting on either side of fairways; typically a steep drop down on the right side. And these fairways....some of them seem narrow enough to spit across. You need to be able to hit draws to get the most out of your driver, and there are a couple (#1 and #9 come to mind) where you really do need a hook. I mean....nothing like a sharp dogleg left with the fairway sloping away from you to the right. Right?!? No matter what you think you are reading on the greens, you need to know where the mountain is because your putt is going to roll away from it. Really, the first four holes are an endurance test - get through them and you know at least that you are past the worst. This is a resort, and the clientele includes people who have never seen a golf course and mistake the cart paths for walking trails. So....that does not seem like fun? Well, if you're worried about your handicap, the course is rated appropriately. If you feel like you need a low score that day, maybe try somewhere else. But if you want to be challenged by an excellent course, this is the best. A wide VSGA window makes this a bargain even on weekends at $35 with cart. Without the card, $69 on weekends for guests is tough to argue with. Grant yourself some mulligans, and have fun with it!
