They had a common living room for the guests to relax in which had books and board games. There was also an area for 24/7 water, coffee, and tea, and in the afternoon, a baked treat was available. We saw chocolate chip cookies and apple cider donuts. Bonus: There was a mini fridge with seltzer water. Second, we booked the Naturalist for the weekend and it was a wonderful room. The sheets were so soft and comforting. The bathroom was a bit small but had modern fixtures. I don't know what the shower head was, but it was super nice LOL. I could've stood in there forever. Their shampoo, conditioner, and body wash smelled lovely as well. They provide a little lotion tube. So, I'd recommend bringing your own. Third, the breakfast was amazing. Shannon and Joe did a wonderful job making the dining experience wonderful. I really loved Shannon's french toast. Joe was also very attentive to the guests. Overall, it was such a wonderful experience. I would love to visit again someday. The location is also quite convenient. You are walking distance away from many cafes, stores, and restaurants. It was definitely a wonderful weekend to recharge. Highly recommend and grateful that we could spend our anniversary here

Hillside hotel was not a great stay but not horrible. Our room smelled stale and like old smoke, I…read morethink maybe it was ingrained in the wood paneling. Our room was not like the photos (definitely not fully remodeled) or luxurious. The bathroom had new fixtures and vanity but the tub was still old and kind of grimy. The window screen in the bathroom was ancient and hard to open and there were some sort of seeds or insect eggs all over the windowsill there. There were also dead flies in the front window, which could have used a wipe down. We had a 2 queen room and one bad was extremely hard and one was very soft. There were only 3 pillows on each bed so someone only had 1 pillow - not ideal with kids. Two of the towels in the bathroom were nice and 2 were pretty raggedy and thin. The size of the room was fine (only room for 1 small table, no chairs) but there was no additional deadbolt or slide latch on the door and that didn't feel safe, especially after someone tried to put a code into our door at about 11:00 one night. This motel is somewhat cute, cozy and quiet but still seems a bit run down. However, after driving around Luray, I'd venture to say it's the nicest of the roadside motels we saw. It has beautiful views of the Shenandoah's and it's very convenient to town and the park. It wasn't awful but wasn't what we expected. The manager Judy was very nice when she called to confirm our reservation and when I let her know the room smelled smoky. Be aware that not all rooms look like the photo on the website.

We had to leave because we had plans so we weren't able to check out the room before hand but as soon as we got back there we started checking it out, so first of all, hair was all over the bedding and on the towels in the bathroom so that was pretty gross. The bath tub was so outdated and yellow, and it had ants in it and of course when we tried to wash the ants away or get rid of them so we could shower about 50 more came crawling out of the faucet so we couldn't even shower. Just overall based on the pictures and the reviews for this place it was not like we were expecting and were very disappointed with it, I would look into other places before coming here especially for $140, save your money and go somewhere else where at least you know what your getting into.

Nestled amidst rolling hills just outside of Luray, the location offered stunning panoramic views of the valley and surrounding mountains. Finding the B&B was a breeze, and upon arrival, I was immediately charmed by the property's historic character, perfectly complemented by modern amenities. **Comfort and Convenience** The room itself was a haven of comfort. The bed was incredibly inviting, and the ensuite bathroom provided everything I needed. Piney Hill truly goes the extra mile with thoughtful touches - from having spare toiletries on hand (lifesaver alert for that forgotten floss!) to individual climate control - ensuring a perfectly relaxing stay. **The Heart of Piney Hill: Hank, Wiley, and Bob** However, the heart and soul of Piney Hill lie with the wonderful innkeepers, Hank and Wiley. Their warm hospitality and engaging conversation made each breakfast a highlight. Their stories and kindness were truly heartwarming, and I found myself looking forward to these morning chats just as much as exploring the Shenandoah National Park nearby. **Breakfast Fit for Royalty** Speaking of breakfast, it was without a doubt the best food I had on my entire trip. From the melt-in-your-mouth sticky buns to the heavenly French toast and the savory sage-egg-sausage bake, each morning was a culinary delight. **A Must-Stay for Shenandoah Valley Travelers** Whether you're looking for a romantic getaway, a base to explore the national park, or simply a place to unwind amidst breathtaking scenery, Piney Hill Bed and Breakfast is the perfect choice. I can't recommend them enough! In fact, if you're staying nearby and can't swing a stay, I highly recommend checking out their take-out bakery. **A Fond Farewell (and a Scratch for Bob!)** Thank you, Hank and Wiley, for making my stay so special. And please give Bob the dog an extra scratch on the head for me! I can't wait to return to the Shenandoah Valley and Piney Hill in the future.

I came from the Washington-DC area, and it was quite easy to get to the B&B (using GPS, of course!) Hugh, the innkeeper, was there to receive me with a complete tour of the place, which was beautiful, comfortable and spotless! The gardens and outdoor areas were just as delightful. My room, Hawksbill, was a corner unit with windows on two sides, painted in a soothing light blue and a beautiful view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The room was comfortable, clean with a bed that knocked me unconscious until the next morning. I was also able to meet the owners of the Mayneview B&B, Bryce and Greg, who were very welcoming and kind. Hugh also made sure that I had everything I needed, and made himself available in case I had questions. In the evening, and after dinner in town, I even met some of the other guests at the Mayneview B&B, who coincidentally all came from the New York area. We all sat by the crackling fire pit and got to share our stories. In the morning, I was served a delicious breakfast of asparagus soufflé, with a side of sausage and a watermelon salad. The coffee was fresh, black and strong, just like I like it!

While it was very cold out and the cabin we booked's heat was out, the staff were all incredibly friendly and jumped to make our experience amazing. As soon as we reported the heat not working, maintenance was sent down and a portable heater was put in. The cabin was very clean and cozy. The bed was comfortable and you couldn't hear anything from outside. It was so peaceful. The food was also amazing! Our first night we enjoyed the ribeye special (which was cooked to a perfect medium rare), venison stroganoff and a glass of the night sky (Shenandoah Cabernet Franc). We liked the wine so much we picked up a bottle from the shop. For breakfast before hiking, we chose the blackberry French toast and Stoney man breakfast along with coffee that was never allowed to be low. This was all so good we ordered the same the next morning along with an orange juice to go. For our second night, we had the short ribs, forrester pasta, blackberry lemonades and a blackberry cobbler that we had brought out in a box to save for later. On that second night, there was a bit of a back wait to be seated, but we think the staff handled it very well and as efficiently as possible. Overall, even with a few hiccups, we didn't have any complaints and are considering to make this a tradition for our anniversary.
