Our adult family of four stayed for six days, and it was a little tight but far from uncomfortable. We played horseshoes in the yard, ate s'mores, did some awesome hiking behind the house, which happens to be right on the edge of the national park (beware the nettles and getting lost), canoeing, the Luray Caverns, hiking in the national park, local dining, and we spent a ton of time in the hot-tub. I recommend all of it. Things to be aware of: the beds are not large, this place is secluded, and the driveway is a steep, gravel switchback.

We have stayed in all the condo options, this by far is our favorite. Spacious, new, homey. Love the electric fireplaces in 2 rooms. Clean enough for park lodges, firm beds and decent quality bedding. This time we stayed in a premium room with two doubles in the pinnacle building right next to the office and the restaurant so very convenient for breakfast. It's west facing so you get the sunset. Room's a good size with a closet/luggage area outside the bathroom, wood flooring, fridge, a small table with two chairs, and there are also two patio chairs outside the door (upper floor has better view on the balcony - ground floor has a grassy lawn area in front). Aircon doesn't seem to be working but room feels pretty cool with the ceiling fan on. WiFi is pretty much nonexistent - it only seems to work in the office where there is a seating area or maybe the dining room. This time also tried the closest trail - Stony Man - a short walk from the lodge. Not sure why it took us so many visit to hike on this trail - it's a short walk (just an easy 1.6 mile circuit) to the summit with fantastic view of the valley and enough space on the rock outcropping to sit on to enjoy the view.

There's a fully renovated bed and breakfast cottage with close to a commercial-grade kitchen, huge outdoor patios, an opulent master suite with a master shower that could fit ten people inside. In the basement, it is completely tricked out with a kegerator, cigar humidor, pool table, 80s free-play arcade, projector movie theater, darts, gym, hot shot basketball, and air hockey table. The cottage has a side expansion with more rooms and a pool complete with covered patio. Outside, there is a beautiful meadow and pond for having an outdoor wedding. Then there is an all-new construction barn that serves as a wedding reception venue. Our event had well over 100 guests plus there was room for dancing, a DJ booth, professional photo booth, buffet tables, and a full-service bar. There is even a little red covered bridge lit up at night for doing a sparkler run outside. It's the works.

Our first B&B experience we didn't know exactly what to expect but we really enjoyed it. Bob, the owner, is just so sweet and we loved his hospitality. He makes you breakfast each morning and makes you feel very welcome and at home. It's a bit old school because we called to make a reservation and Bob just takes your name and number and that's it. No credit card number, no confirmation email... just show up, he's waiting for you! The house itself has so much character, built in the 1830's, we loved looking at all the unique rooms and old- timey decor. Definitely recommend and would visit again! Also would like to add that one of the common complaints that I read on yelp when we were looking for places to stay was that the noise from the highway was too much. Maybe it was our room's location in the house but I'll honestly say that it was barely noticeable and definitely not something that's even worth mentioning.

The owners of the inn were absolutely fabulous, so welcoming and warm, we truly felt welcomed into their home. The breakfasts were fantastic; mostly variations on pancakes and French toasts (heavier than what I would have made myself at home, but hey, we were on vacation!). We ate in the dining room at a large table with other guests. It was great making acquaintances over those few days; getting to see them in the mornings and compare notes about what we'd seen/done the day before. The location was great, we had no problem exploring local wineries and small towns in the area. At the suggestion of the owners, we visited a local civil war museum and battlefield which were truly fascinating. We even made it to Monticello! All in all it was a perfect stay, we would love to go back!!

The cabin came fitted with appropriate child gates and had pack n plays for them to sleep in. They probably undersell their amenities, so be sure to look for everything they have to offer. Overall the cabin was very clean, the terms were reasonable, it had everything we needed, and the view/location was perfect. If you're traveling to the area I'd definitely recommend looking into their options.

The bedrooms were on separate sides to give us some nice privacy. I loved the peaceful closed in porch and we used the fire pit outside at night. The bathrooms were nice and clean and I was surprised there was a washer and dryer if we needed! I also liked that it was dog friendly for an extra $20/night fee. That was pricey in my opinion but I can understand, as some people's dogs aren't well behaved. The only small things that weren't perfect, is that there was some kind of beeping by the fireplace so when we sat at the dining room table to eat or work on our laptops, it was kinda annoying and we couldn't figure out what it was from or how to stop it. Next, there wasn't anywhere to walk or go for a run right from the cabin. But there are trails nearby you can drive to and the views on the drives were pretty to see. We had a great weekend, there's so much stuff to do and explore in the area. This cabin was big for 2 people so if you have a group this is a good size. All the bedrooms are on different sides so there is a lot of privacy for each person or couple.
