It absolutely doesn't get better!…read more After being homebound for the last few months due to the pandemic, our family finally felt safe enough to venture out to an Airbnb. Enter River Bluff Farm. We rented the entire space, which by the way is pet friendly if you do that. Donna was incredibly responsive when we booked, and answered all of my questions prior to arrival. She met us there to let us in, practicing social distancing of cours The pictures don't actually do it justice! The cabin part is comprised of a kitchen, dining area, living area and loft. There is a connecting hallway to the other house section, which had three bedrooms (each with en suite bath) plus an additional powder room off of another sitting area. The rooms and decorations were so well done. Besides that, there are a ton of additional touches. Things like a really nice grill, Life vests and floating noodles, a canoe, and a TV with accounts signed in for the streaming services (we caught up on Ozark!). Oh, and fresh chicken and duck eggs were left for us in the fridge, which we devoured. The grounds are beautiful as well. The landscaping just accentuates an already perfect view of the Shenandoah. We also hiked up to the little summit to get a 360 degree view at the top. Our three days here flew by and we all had an amazing time. We will definitely be back.

    ## Piney Hill Bed and Breakfast: A Perfect Shenandoah Valley Getaway (5 stars)…read more **A Dreamy Escape with Spectacular Views and Unforgettable Hospitality** My recent stay at Piney Hill Bed and Breakfast was an absolute delight. Nestled amidst rolling hills just outside of Luray, the location offered stunning panoramic views of the valley and surrounding mountains. Finding the B&B was a breeze, and upon arrival, I was immediately charmed by the property's historic character, perfectly complemented by modern amenities. **Comfort and Convenience** The room itself was a haven of comfort. The bed was incredibly inviting, and the ensuite bathroom provided everything I needed. Piney Hill truly goes the extra mile with thoughtful touches - from having spare toiletries on hand (lifesaver alert for that forgotten floss!) to individual climate control - ensuring a perfectly relaxing stay. **The Heart of Piney Hill: Hank, Wiley, and Bob** However, the heart and soul of Piney Hill lie with the wonderful innkeepers, Hank and Wiley. Their warm hospitality and engaging conversation made each breakfast a highlight. Their stories and kindness were truly heartwarming, and I found myself looking forward to these morning chats just as much as exploring the Shenandoah National Park nearby. **Breakfast Fit for Royalty** Speaking of breakfast, it was without a doubt the best food I had on my entire trip. From the melt-in-your-mouth sticky buns to the heavenly French toast and the savory sage-egg-sausage bake, each morning was a culinary delight. **A Must-Stay for Shenandoah Valley Travelers** Whether you're looking for a romantic getaway, a base to explore the national park, or simply a place to unwind amidst breathtaking scenery, Piney Hill Bed and Breakfast is the perfect choice. I can't recommend them enough! In fact, if you're staying nearby and can't swing a stay, I highly recommend checking out their take-out bakery. **A Fond Farewell (and a Scratch for Bob!)** Thank you, Hank and Wiley, for making my stay so special. And please give Bob the dog an extra scratch on the head for me! I can't wait to return to the Shenandoah Valley and Piney Hill in the future.

Great experience…read more This was a history rich B&B making for a wonderful experience. Our only regret was our own schedule changed making for little time on the property to relax. The owner/manager was very accommodating when our shift resulted in very late returns in the evening. The final morning we did get a chance to enjoy a leisurely breakfast; tasty home cooking and great conversation with a very interesting owner and another guest. Scenic vista across the farm and foothills of the Endless Caverns, minutes from the historic New Market battlefield, and ample wildlife to spot while taking that early morning walk. Beds were very comfortable, internet for those that can't drop the devices for a weekend, and an all around great experience. Definitely on our list for a repeat weekend get away.

We'd lived in DC for a while, but we had yet to to venture further into Virginia, especially during…read morethe fall months, when the leaves are colorful. We searched the web for BnBs in the Shenandoah Valley, and came upon the Rosendale Inn. Seemed like a chill place, and we called and booked the space with a credit card number, but we were told we'd need to pay by check. It seemed a little fishy, and I was prepared for good or bad. We arrived on a dark fall evening, and Paul, the inn owner, met us downstairs and showed us to our rooms. The rooms are named after Virginian Presidents, my wife and I were in the Woodrow Wilson suite, and my parents had the Andrew Jackson suite. We settled into our rooms and then drank wine and played board games in the library, and slept very comfortably while the wind made the house creak a little. The inn is PACKED with history. It was owned by relatives of President Wilson, and a few presidents stayed there as well. Paul told us the whole history in the museum, and all the stages the building went through in its ongoing restoration. He is full of stories, from his own life on 3 continents and all the books he's written. In the morning, we had coffee around the table, and then Paul and his mom made us a nice breakfast, starting with fruit, and then an egg casserole and sausage one day, and french toast the next day. He made hot water for my parents (not coffee drinkers), and he gave us tips for what to do in the valley. Solid BnB, great for relaxing, and killer views of the valley. We hope to be back in a few summers!

Robin and Dave stocked a LOT of stuff including bathroom essentials and snacks- they even had spaghetti and sauce in the pantry in case we didn't want to go out (which we didn't!). I can unequivocally say that Robin made us the best breakfast that I've EVER had at a bed breakfast or hotel. She has a gift. The price is right on point. If you are going to need two rooms elsewhere, this place makes a LOT of financial sense...

It has views on a river just below, and forests, fields and mountain ranges as you look farther. Just splendid. There are two bedrooms and two baths, plus a full kitchen & dining area, a living room with a fireplace, a separate TV/reading room, an outside patio, and a screened porch right outside the main bedroom. The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are clean and provided with the guests' basic needs. The kitchen is well equipped and the dining table has a view to flower gardens and a big lawn. Not that any cooking is needed while on vacation. Breakfast is sumptuous and delicious, thanks to Robin's great cooking. And just about 10 minutes away is New Market, which has several restaurants, a great cafe inside a museum, and a super well-stocked general store. It's a great staging spot for nearby trips to the caverns, hikes, fall scenery, regional festivals, wine tasting and much more. Dave and Robin are great hosts too. Truly a wonderful place (at a great price) that I highly and wholeheartedly recommend. In addition to vacations, the cottage and surroundings are great for writers, artists, or people working on big projects who need quiet and concentration. My two-day stay was way too short. I will certainly be back.
