I went in today and had yet another excellent experience with them. But let's start at how I got to really like these guys (and gals). I was in need of new ski boots. After a disgusting customer service experience at a custom made boot maker which conveniently disowned their warranty, I spent a good two months researching and coming up with two finalist models. I may not be the world's expert on ski gear but I've been skiing for forty years, I know the type, brand and style of boots I want, and after all, it's my feet. So I went to my local ski store and I got a dismissive "you take what we have". A friend of mine clued me in to Golf and Ski Warehouse and I went in on the defensive, considering the two previous experiences. Their sales staff is not only knowledgeable but was actually concerned with what I wanted and how it fit and how I skied and what kind of skiing and a myriad of other parameters. I left so satisfied that I decided I'd come back. Repeatedly. I've had the boots now for two years and I absolutely love them. What's more, when I enter, I usually see the same salesperson who invariably asks me how they fit. That's customer service.... They also have a superb shop for ski maintenance. For the last two years, I've taken our skis there for pre-season tunes, specialty repairs and end of season tune. During the Covid-19 pandemic, I've been impressed at the entry and shopping protocols they have adopted. Max 20 people in the store, masks are absolutely required, sanitizer everywhere, and credit card transactions are contactless. It gives the customer a safe feeling when the staff is also taking precautions and enforcing safe protocols. Next purchase is a new set of skis. And I'm in the research mode.....

Their selection is very impressive, and covers most, if not all the OEM's clubs that you would want to try. The free fittings are also more comfortable than expected, and I've never felt rushed, or "sold to." During an iron fitting, I ended up taking 2 hours and tried 16 different models, all trying to find our perfect fit, and never once felt obligated to get out of there, or to purchase (even though I did get the irons). Then they were very good about putting in a special order for the custom options we settled on, as well as shipping them to me for free. The driver fitting was equally about 2 hours, and I'm very pleased with the outcome. It didn't hurt that the rewards program they have made for a nice discount on the driver purchase. I've also been for two wedge fittings at different times, and the first time my swing was off, and rather than trying to force a sale, the fitter suggested reconvening at a different time, which was relieving. I came back, and am happy with the results. Great store selection, low pressure salespeople, easy custom ordering, and fantastic rewards program. With the driving range across the parking lot, it makes for a must visit fitting location that I recommend to all my VT friends. EDIT: I should also note, each time there, I've dealt with a different salesperson and each one has provided me with a solid professional experience.

It's our first time playing together and one of her first times playing. We are on the seventh hole and the guy in the clubhouse comes driving up and tells us to speed up. I was practicing chipping as she is getting up and down. Nobody is even playing behind us. He told me I am not suppose to play more than one ball at a time. Ontop of being heavily overpriced for twighlight golf, the staff was wildly rude. Never have I ever been so disgusted by staff on the golf course I decided to pack up and head home. 76$ for two people and a cart and I am getting rushed by the staff with nobody behind us. Stained glass windows, creaky floors, real keys and locks for the room doors, the beautiful old elevator, antique knickknacks and signs everywhere. It was time travel in a beautiful old lady of the mountains. The good; still have the real keys for the room doors. Removing the old lobby rug to expose the beautiful wide board floor, the updates to the dining room do look very nice and plush, although I missed many of the old, wooden signs that used to adorn the walls. The bar looks new and refreshed, with excellent service. The bad; what amounts to white washing the first level of the beautiful old staircase by removing the old, dark stain and varnish, and replacing the stained glass window favor of a plain, square sheet of glass. Changing the old library off the main lobby to turn it more into a meeting room. It has had all of it's book shelves, books and games removed. The old brick fireplace in the lobby is still there, albeit painted black. The main part of my rating of only three stars has to be the dining. The food has definitely taken a turn for the worse. You could always count on great meal in the restaurant, whether there were 3 people eating, or 300. Starting with an awesome breakfast buffet, and ending with a very pleasant dining experience, the food was always top notch. Now, the breakfast buffet has been replaced with a fixed menu, with the quality of food being only so-so, and delivered cold. The dinner was, at best, mediocre, with a so-called rib eye steak served that was over 50% fat and gristle, tougher than nails. Fix the food issue. Bring back the breakfast buffet and the old chef. Make the old library a library again, and you will be well on your way to getting 4 and five star ratings again

The weekend of the wedding was absolutely perfect. We started with yoga on the patio of the carriage house. What a beautiful way to start a busy day! We had Skydivers jump to land to surprise our guests, which was definitely a logistics challenge! The staff kept it a secret, and it was a smashing success! The ceremony site was out of a fairytale. The cocktail hour in the carriage house was definitely a hit! And then the reception in the event tent... I can't really find the words... The service was flawless, the food was even better than we remembered from our first visit... Magical really sums it up. All of the staff were responsive and helpful as 40 rooms of our guests checked in. The breakfast buffet was outstanding. The veranda and public spaces in the lobby are so warm and inviting, and family that haven't seen each other in many years were able to sit and visit comfortably. We highly recommend Eagle Mountain House to any couple looking to get married in a fairytale.

They have a huge selection of men's and women's clothing, especially fleece, coats, pants, hats, etc. at great prices. Some of the fleece were almost half off. They also have Allpa and other bags available for sale but they are not price reduced. The inside of the store is laid out well and product arranged nicely. The sales staff are super nice and we're very knowledgeable about the products. We got a lot of good deals here. Apparently this is the only Cotopaxi store on the east coast and the only Cotopaxi outlet store.

A month and half later, I skied with them for the first time and realized I had gotten a size too large. The next day I went back to Golf and Ski in Scarborough to see if there was a remedy. Bill, the store manager, was great. Not only could I trade them for the smaller size, he had me back out the door in no time with the boots adjusted to the skis. I will continuing being a loyal customer in this store that provides such great customer service.

Darcy spent plenty of time talking me through helmet fit and finding over-glasses goggles, and Jim took an hour for a full-on boot fitting and worked out a terrific ski/boots/bindings/poles package. Great experience. I will never shop for ski gear anywhere else.
