Their products are hands down, the best manufactured pieces of outdoor clothing I've ever worn. Seriously. Every detail, every stitch, every feature to make a hiker, skier, climber or simply, functionally fashionable person comfortably clothed against the cruel and often changing New England climate.
Burgeon has only been open for a year and yet, their impact has not only provided people with top quality garments but in addition, they have helped save lives and keep others protected by switching most of their manufacturing to sew face masks. And through the Upper Valley Strong nonprofit group and their numerous members, are providing masks free of charge to vulnerable communities. When entrepreneurship comes with a strong community ethos, it makes life better for everyone.
An additional aspect of his business: Their designs are crafted in Lincoln, New Hampshire, and the manufacturing process is also in the White Mountains area. Their clothing is put to the test in the inclement weather of the White Mountains. Their showroom is also their manufacturing center.
I was in need of a light-weight mid layer, that would also make a good outer garment, and their Franconia jacket fit perfectly. Justin, who is their Operations Manager, is extremely knowledgeable and recommended the jacket which I got in the mail four days later The Franconia is a four-way stretch that fits snug and yet roomy so I can wear one or two base layers for mountain fun. Every stitch and every seam is sewn superbly.
