Eagle Cafe was home to my first and favorite breakfast on vacation in San Francisco. Located atop Pier 39, I worried it might be a tourist trap, but the reviews kept me hopeful and the menu sounded delightful. We stopped in not long after they opened on a Wednesday morning, and we were easily seated. Our server was friendly and prompt. I ordered the California omelet, which was soooo good! The avocado in it was perfectly made, and upgrading the potatoes to include the sour cream/bacon/chives mix was the correct move. My mom had the sourdough French toast with bacon, and she also enjoyed her meal. She tried some of mine and also loved it. For drinks, she had the strawberry lemonade and I ordered their blackberry breakfast mocktail - the perfect complement to my dish. The vibe was chill and relaxed, and the prices were reasonable, especially for SF. I'd 1,000% return on future trips.

OMG what a hidden gem. Hotel Zephyr recommended. This was spot on. Upstairs, pier 39, opens at 8:00am. Wife had the burger egg sandwich, I had the chilaquiles and coffee and hand squeezed OJ. The meal came out looking like it was prepared by Gordon Ramsey. Beautiful. Both meals were delicious!!!!!! staff super nice and professional. very clean establishment. Came back and ate at Fog Harbor the next evening. Swordfish! Yes! Raw oysters from Fanny Bay BC.

A great location for lunch on Pier 39. Our party of four was seated quickly on a busy Sunday afternoon. The waiter was attentive and checked in on us during our meal. The Cheeseburgers were cooked perfectly to medium as we requested. Lively atmosphere with San Francisco history and views of the Skywheel. As a native San Franciscan the Eagle Cafe is my go to spot to take visitors.

My wife wanted to eat at a non chain place in SF in Pier 39. We decided on this restaurant named Eagle Cafe after my wife searched on Yelp for their reviews. You had a choice of eating outside or inside but bc it was a chilly November morning we decided inside was best plus we had a friend with us as well. The outside seating is a bar type seating so third person would be left out unfortunately. Their service was perfect & on point. They seated us right away took our orders ASAP. My wife was the most picky one bc of her current dietary restrictions but it still worked out for us nonetheless. Our omelettes were average. At least my wife could order it without dairy & the gluten free English muffin was good. Our friend's crab cake benedict looked very fried. He added all kinds of sauces to his entree especially his fries. Lol His strawberry lemonade looked delicious!! Our neighbor's chilaquiles looked really tasty though but they mixed up their entree right away. So no pics for Yelp:-( Their tables were set up for pretty close to each other like inches away. My wife didn't care for that. She prefers more privacy. Would we return maybe but normally we don't come to Pier 39 when we are in SF. We did prepay for parking bc it is tough to find parking in SF. My wife purchased a parking lot that was a five minute walk away from Pier 39. Their bathrooms were quite limited. Only two for the entire restaurant. You need to plan ahead as my wife had a long wait for it. They did have restrooms throughout Pier 39 though. It's a touristy place we haven't been to in years. We only came bc we had business to take care of in one of the stores at Pier 39 so we needed to kill some time & eat some breakfast. It was getting filled up fast tables wise but at least it was clean, tidy & a holiday atmosphere bc of the Xmas decorations inside & out. It did go well for us however & we were thankful. If we did return we would sit outside & enjoy the view or sit by the window if possible. My wife noticed seagulls flying by customers while they were eating outside. So be aware!

No wait time for a late lunch. Great location right on the pier. Delicious clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl - just what we were after. Also had the blackened salmon salad - ask for hot stuff on side if you don't want it wilted. Friend enjoyed the fish tacos. Everything was excellent. Parking/Discount w our hotel concierge card.

If you are looking for a great place to eat for breakfast open at 8, fast seating, great service, great food come here! The food and coffee is hot and delicious! There are so many times I have gotten avocado toast other places and the avocado is hard and unripe, not here it was soft and buttery and delectable! 10/10!

After an hour on the ferry, we needed something quick, so we stopped into Eagle Café and had probably the worst lunch service in recent memory. To make a long story short, we got our appetizers and ate them before we even got a water and vodka Cran. Our waitress was unhelpful, the manager was even less enthusiastic, and with three people behind the bar, they couldn't even hold down a lunch rush. We saw people across the bar ordering drinks and getting them quickly while we still waited. Terrible service, No friendliness or warmth, skip this tourist trap.

Great brunch spot with nice views! I can't remember the service too well because it has been a really early flight and I was running on about 2hrs of sleep when we arrived in SF, but I don't remember it being terrible for that's a plus, right? I ordered the crab cake Benedicts and the banana pecan pancakes-- huge portions! Everything was delicious. Everyone else enjoyed their meal also, sad we didn't get a chance to stop in again before we left, but it's on our list next time we're in town!

I think I can honestly say that the overwhelming majority of the time I visit San Francisco, I dare to be a tourist and visit Pier 39. Of those visits, I think I almost always eat here for lunch (it's connected to Fog Harbor for dinner) and have her to be disappointed. They ate filling, not horrifyingly priced given their location, very spot on with their service, and good arrived correctly and quickly. Personally I love the salmon BLT, but I've learned I must be VERY hungry to finish it. Since they are located at the entrance to the pier and in the second level I imagine many walk right past them. Do not. They are very much worth the visit. Also, it's a busy restaurant/cafe but I would not say they are loud. You can hold a conversation in a filled restaurant and not need to shout. (As an addendum, I got the tiramisu in an act of hunger and it did not disappoint! House made!)

This was only my second time visiting Eagle Cafe, the first time three years ago, but considering I live in New Jersey and this was only my second time on the West Coast, it's safe to say I love it. I had been thinking about it for the last three years and hoped I would one day be back. There's just something about having breakfast overlooking Alcatraz and the bay that made it that much better. On this particular visit the weather was so windy and chilly for May and there were no seats available indoors overlooking the water, let alone indoor seats period, so we opted for an outdoor seat. There are seats facing the bay, and then seats that face the shops of Pier 30, that stool over a sliver of a glimpse of the water, but are more focused on the hustle and bustle of the retail establishments. We sat away from the water due to the chilling wind, which was a good choice since the sun warmed us up. I started with a strawberry lemonade and my mom had a coffee. I chose the eggs Benedict as my entree and my mom did the banana pecan French toast with eggs and sausage. The eggs Benedict is served on sourdough bread, which obviously San Fran is famous for and they'd be remiss if they chose anything else. The home fries are wedge cut potatoes perfectly seasoned with sautéed peppers and onions. It was exactly as I had remembered it three years ago. I, of course, had to nibble on my mom's French toast. It was perfect. Hard to mess up, but believe it or not it can be done. Our server was dealing with a demanding table behind us, but she remained polite and unscathed. All in all, it was another great experience.

The service and view was great at this restaurant conveniently located at pier 39. The experience was great with the exception of a few things. There was no restroom so they had me walk into another restaurants establishment to use their restroom. The eggs Benedict was great, but when I bit into one of my fries/potatoes, it was uncooked and was still frozen. Very concerning, but the staff handled it quickly and got me a replacement shortly after. Wouldn't mind giving this place another chance when I go back to visit San Francisco. Edit: thanks Bob for the response, this visit was on March 27th at 10:30 am.

I want to qualify this review. 4 stars for location, service, and cleanliness. 3 stars for food quality. We ate here for breakfast on a Saturday morning. This is at pier 39, so I expected a touristy place. But I had read some pretty decent reviews of Eagle Cafe from locals, so I thought we should give it a chance. The location was super! Second floor. Great views of the bay, you can hear the seal lions, and smell the ocean. The place is cute as well. Themed like an old time seafaring place, but not over the top. Just nice. Our service was very good. Our food was well portioned. No complaints. Quality was better than ok, but not delish (if that makes sense). Hubs had ham in his omelet that was the thin sliced type, which was cut into little pieces. Not premium in any way. Daughter said her pancakes tasted like Krusteaz mix. Not exactly a complaint, but not great. I ordered the eggs and bacon. Those were both good, but I had to down vote the potatoes as I really didn't enjoy the potatoes. These were jazzed up coated steak fries. I didn't really care for the seasoning on them, which seems like it was either herbes de provence or Italian seasoning. With a little paprika thrown in. If I ordered these again, I would skip the seasoning. Drinks were also pretty aggressively priced for coffee and soda. Overall, this wasn't a memorable place for us. We would try it again for lunch, but not have high expectations. If you want a view, though, have a drink here and go outside on the deck!

I really couldn't think of a better way to experience a restaurant for the first time. While some set course meals have a few misses, this one was just hit after hit the entire way through. I really felt as if every course was complimentary, but different enough in their own way to stand on their own and make an impact. Tldr: the food was amazing! You're aiming for a hoity toity atmosphere, we can move plates around. There's an obnoxious but unenforced dress code (no jerseys then someone came in with a jersey and was as seated, no baseball hats...), but the straw that broke the camels back was when the hostess asked me to stay seated while I was seated. From changes in the menu to headcount, she was so receptive and gave great recommendations. Everyone was thrilled with the venue and food selection. Everything served was delicious and well appreciated. My personal favorite were the raw items- the beef tartare, sushi, and oysters were divine. The beef tartare had such a thoughtful presentation, as it was served with Asian pear upon a delicate rice cracker. I also loved the french fries and housemade potato chips that were ordered! The truffled ham and cheese croquettes had a delightful creamy spice to them due to the harissa inside them, it was so savory with a layered flavor to them. I also loved the chicken tsukune, everything was amazing to lay our eyes on and to eat. I think my very minor issue would be that I ordered non-alcoholic beverage packages for my entire party and alcoholic beverages for a few, and I would say that the selection could be a bit more expansive and also elaborate upon what beverages there are to choose from. An inclusive cocktail package would be fantastic. I would recommend this location for anyone looking to host a corporate event nearby Fidi.

Stayed at the Jay and had the opportunity to try their HH and breakfast…read more HH: Tried a variety of their skewers and chicken nuggets. Overall, tastes were good, but not particularly special. Since the value is not outstanding, would only come here if staying at the hotel. Breakfast: Yogurt and granola: solid and tastes as expected Açaí bowl: A bit disappointing as it was much more liquidy than what it should be. Was almost the consistency of a smoothie. Would not recommend. The third floor: Solid and substantial. Would recommend! Ambience in the lounge is chill and there is a nice outdoor space.

This restaurant is such a lovely neighborhood spot! Perfect for date nights or special occasions…read more My partner and I came here on a Thursday around 6:45pm and the tables were roughly half full when we arrived. We ordered the Caesar salad with pomegranate seeds and pink peppercorn, as well as the wood-roasted pork belly with squash mole to start, and split the marinated flank steak. The dishes were very vegetable heavy, which we loved, since it didn't leave us feeling heavy at the end of the meal. The pork belly was our favorite dish, as it was so incredibly tender and packed with flavor. The steak was cooked perfectly and we really enjoyed the pepitas seeds mixed in. In retrospect, I think we definitely should have ordered the glassy potato, which we were advised was a menu standout, but we didn't listen!! Everything was delicious though, I just will definitely have to come back to try this dish! I do wish their outdoor patio was better heated, I was super cold throughout the meal and had to use my partner's coat to cover my legs. I also wish they gave people the option to book covered patio vs. indoor as I definitely would have preferred to sit inside the main part of the restaurant. Still recommend though!

Ambiance, wine, and especially the staff were amazing…read more Unfortunately, the food didn't hit. We had a socca with figs, lemon, arugula and some other items. It was soggy, too citrusy and very salty. Each bite was different, but not in a good way. One bite would be extremely sweet, the next puckering. 1/5 We also tried the pork shoulder. It was good, but rather small and uninspired. 3/5 Lastly, we had the rhubarb strawberry crumble. This was lovely. The portion was huge, while not overwhelming sweet. Just perfect. 5/5 Ultimately, we felt very let down by the food. Yet sometime between the initial smile of the host and the last crumb of crumble, I was convinced: this place was worth the stop.
