As we prepared for our move from Seattle to southern California, we decided to ship one of our cars down. Having never shipped a car before, I started doing research online for a reputable company. Most of the places I found were car brokers, who contracted out your car to the lowest bidder, which could either take a lot of time as they waited for an interested driver, or meant they increased the price from what they originally quoted you. From all the reviews I read, it seemed like there were a lot of shady car transport companies, often resulting in higher prices or damage to your car. I was afraid I might have to just blindly pick one and hope for the best.
But then ... through Transport Reviews, I found Eagle Auto Carriers. I liked that they were a carrier/broker allowing me all my options, and when I requested a price quote they came in around the same price as the other companies I had checked with. I spoke with Marie, and she answered all my questions and explained the process to me. The price they quote is what you pay, and it does not change. I gave Marie a four day window that my car would be available for pickup, and the day before my window started, she called and said he had a driver that could pick up my car the next day.
The drop-off process went smoothly. We weren't in a rush to get the car delivered to San Diego (we hadn't even left Seattle yet), but I was very pleasantly surprised when I got a call saying the car would be dropped off in San Diego just 2 days after it left Seattle. We dropped it off Tuesday afternoon, and it was delivered early Thursday morning. We had the car delivered to my mom, who said the driver was very nice, and the car had no damages and everything looked great.
I am so glad we found Eagle Auto Carriers. I was nervous about shipping our car, but it worked out great. I highly recommend using them if you ever need to ship your car. read more
