I was here for the Eagan Indoor Market (select Wednesdays) being held in one of the gathering rooms on the lower level. It was a bit smaller than I'd been anticipating from the list of vendors on the website, but it was still nice to browse local small businesses, and I'm glad the community center makes the time and space for folks to do so. While there, I scoped out what appeared to be the "main attraction" so to speak, the fitness center, which has a large gymnasium, equipment, and an indoor track. They had plenty of showers, bathrooms, water fountain/bottle refill station, coat racks, vending machines with beverages and snacks, and a place to get changed and such. Seems really nice, but the pricing online seemed a bit steep to me ($40/mo.); a shame, my husband and I have been looking for an indoor track so we can run in the winter without worrying about slipping on the ice! There's also an indoor kids playplace ($8 fee) on the upper level and a senior center on the lower level. So they are trying to cater to all ages here. The parking lot is quite sizable, so no worries about finding a place to park (unless of course there's a big event going on at the festival grounds!). There are plenty of outdoor amenities in the surrounding Eagan Central Park too, such as a kid's playground, splash pad, fitness course, walking paths, and bandshell. There's also a postbox near the entrance of the building if you need to drop off some mail while you're here.

I wish the space was a little bigger as it can get a little crowded in the little space in front of the gym but all in all had a great time. Unfortunately, the service did not match the setting. The staff seemed overwhelmed and unhappy to be there, and it took 28 minutes per drink, which is simply unacceptable. The bar was extremely understaffed, and the gentleman bartending that evening was very rude, which created an uncomfortable and unwelcoming atmosphere. (Dec 16th) While we truly enjoyed spending time with friends, it was clear the venue was not prepared for an event of this magnitude. There was no clear flow or guidance for guests, and many people were confused about how the experience was supposed to work. You were yelled at by the bartender if you stood next to the bar to get a drink. To make matters worse, the cost was extremely high - about $150 per couple for just a couple of drinks and a wood-fired pizza. For that price point, expectations are understandably much higher. Beautiful space, disappointing execution. With better staffing, training, and organization, this could be a great holiday destination-but as it stands, it fell short.

For a group of ~20 it was perfect: I believe 10 can play at a time so we got to switch in and out. The game itself is a mix of lacrosse and number cars - even more fun than I expected, and our group of ~30 year olds plus some parents had a blast. They also have an arcade, bowling, and an escape room - plus probably other stuff I missed! They had tables you could book/reserve which is nice and service drinks and food like pizzas.

I was surprised at how much space there was inside, and how much there was to do in there. We didn't get a chance to try the actual whirly ball activity, but we did go bowling and play at the arcades. We ate dinner there one night and also spent some time at the bar. I actually enjoyed the birria taco with the consumes. The flavors were there. I think it was evenly balanced out. More meat is always great, but I don't think it was lacking. My son had the tenders, which was OK. The bartenders were also the servers. One bartender particularly was extremely nice and efficient. Both nights we went there were not too busy, but a fair amount of customers. We had a great time and were able to roam around to see what they had to offer.

He knows exactly what he is doing, and he is there every step of the way. He was willing to do whatever it took for us to have an amazing night. He truly cares about his couples and wants them to have a stress free, fantastic night. When Covid hit, George was very good at letting us know what was going on, and he was very flexible about moving our date with no charge. Despite the new rules, it was still the magical night I always imagined. Jana was our coordinator, and she was absolutely amazing as well. She made sure we didn't have to worry about anything the entire night. If she saw us or our parents without a drink, she made sure to ask if we needed anything. She even jokingly reprimanded me when I tried helping clean up at the end of the night. We had SO many compliments on the food and the GEORGOUS venue. George took advantage of the pandemic lockdown and people postponing their weddings in order to make a beautiful venue 10X more beautiful. The up lights, dance lights and the dry ice fog were amazing. The price George charges is definitely a steal for how beautiful the venue is and the quality of service you get.

Tip: Scan the QR code found on signs in the parking lot to pay online for parking…read more My review is different. It's for parking at this Courtyard. I stayed at the Fairfield next door. I had a pleasant stay, except for parking. For the handful of times that I attended Minnesota Wild games and got back to the hotel after at least 8 pm, there were no available parking spots. It was a perfect storm. Literally. Factor in March break, various tournaments around the Twin Cities (basketball and hockey), and a blizzard, no wonder there weren't any spots available at the Fairfield. I also think it's the local mentality of being in Minnesota. Eat dinner at 5 pm. Head back to the hotel to chill. The blizzard made pretty much everyone stay inside. It was to start on Saturday evening. I had just come back from a Wild game that night and returned to the hotel just past 8 pm. There were no parking spots available. I parked here twice, both after Wild games. The first time was last Thursday. There weren't any spots at Fairfield after 11 pm, so it made sense to park next door. It was a warm night. It was easy finding an available spot. The way you pay for parking is to scan a QR code found on signs in the lot. You then pay online once you specify when your checkout date is. I was pleased that you didn't have to be staying at the Courtyard to park there. There was a field to enter your room number when you are filling out the payment form. I left it blank and it was fine. You have the option to change your checkout date hours before your original date and time expire. The second time that I parked here was on Saturday. I came back from a Wild game after 8 pm. We had a blizzard warning. The snow had started. It was windy and wet. I had rented an SUV. I tried my hand and driving it up an open patch at Fairfield that would have been grass. It worked. However, I thought about trying to dig out this vehicle and decided to park at this Courtyard instead. I realized later that I had parked in a walkway. I don't think anyone cared as long as the plows could clear the snow to get in and out of the parking lot a day later. I had originally specified my checkout time to be on Monday. However, weather and road conditions were so bad on Monday morning that I decided to extend my parking to Tuesday. I'm glad that I did because it took me quite some time to dig my car out on Monday afternoon with a snowbrush! I am grateful for having the snowbrush as my makeshift shovel and choosing an SUV that made getting out of a foot of snow easier. Parking is $10 a night. The checkout time is noon. I was okay paying for it, knowing that my rental vehicle would be safe and actually having a spot. I will say that the walk from the back of Courtyard's lot that Saturday to Fairfield was brutal. Wet snow. Wind gusts at nearly 30 km/h. I had two paper bags full of groceries that ripped. I was fortunate to have brought my insulated bag and a plastic bag that held up. By the time I got to the hotel, I was wet and white with snow on me. It was nice to get out of my damp clothes! I was pleased that I could find parking next door at this hotel. I'm not sure if I'd stay at the Fairfield again when it's still winter. I wouldn't mind staying at this Courtyard someday. The parking is decent and my vehicle was safe for half my stay in the Twin Cities. (121)

Perfect for a date night, friend catch-up, or solo Whiskey adventure, Volstead House is a vibe! We started with the A La Louisiane, a spirit-forward, whiskey cocktail with some funk from Peychauds and Absinthe. It was delicious and well balanced. First off, going through the hidden Coke machine entrance is actually really fun and makes the whole place feel like a little adventure. The decor and speakeasy atmosphere are definitely the standout. Very cool space. VERY loud though. Like "lean across the table and say WHAT?" loud at times. The waitress was super nice and recommended a mocktail for me that called Ass in the Sand. It ended up being really good. It tasted like an elevated lemonade and was probably one of my favorite parts of the meal. Started with the rolls and whipped honey butter which were delicious. Very soft, warm, and honestly dangerous because I could've just kept eating bread all night. For the main meal, I did the Wagyu Burger with Parmesan fries. The burger itself was okay but surprisingly didn't have a ton of flavor outside of the grilled/charred taste. The Parmesan fries were actually the standout for me -- hand cut fries and parmesan fries are just hard to mess up. My partner tried the Mushroom Soup en Croute and wasn't a fan because the mushrooms were blended and he said it lacked flavor. He also had a Steak Taco special using their medallion steak and said even with lime it still needed more flavor. Finished with Crème Brûlée which is always a classic favorite for me and this one was good. Overall: fun experience, cool hidden entrance, great decor, good mocktail and bread, but the actual food menu is pretty limited and the flavors didn't totally wow me for the price. Glad I went and finally crossed it off my list, but probably a one-and-done visit for me.
