Not the one who just walked up to the back of the line. You also need to make sure if someone asks for assistance, that someone actually assists... no one came when I asked for help. I waited for over 5 minutes before I found something myself to help me get items that were out of my reach. It's not an occasional thing that happens here, it's every time I come here. Which I agreed was fine. Then he hits me with he can't do it because he has to clean up... so I had to come back the next day... which I was ok with.. very inconvenient but I had no choice. Oh and I had to prepay... so I did that. I get to the store in a hurry because I had to start cooking. I go to meat dept show my receipt and grab my meat. I start to walk out the store and some lady says "I need to ring you up" I proceed to tell her that I have a receipt and I already paid the night before. I show her my receipt and she just walks away. I guess she don't believe me?? At this point I have no idea what she's doing... she talks to meat dept they verify it's paid for.. she comes to me and says "you paid the wrong price" so I explain I'm in a hurry and that's what your meat guy told me. .50 more per pound to cut up. She says with a big attitude... "I can refund it" knowing this is the only store and I'm in a hurry. So I say I'm in a hurry this is right what your doing.. I also work at a grocery store and you should honor this price considering I already paid for it. And it's not my fault. She said "I'm the owner and if you don't want it, I'll return it" This was the most insulting transaction I've ever been in and the worse part it was the owner. Terrible customer service. The same meat cutter walked in and she was screaming at him that he charged me wrong.. and he clearly said "that's what everyone is charged. $8.49 a pound... so yes I paid $10 more because she was not letting me go... $10 freakin dollars she was holding my meat hostage... because she knew I had no other options at that point. DRIVE TO INDIO ... DO NOT SHOP HERE. She should be shut down.. and the store was completely empty.. and now I know why...

This place has prepared sandwiches, beer, vegetables and fresh meat. The chicken and meat prices were not bad. The store was clean and organized well. Next year when I come back to Quartzite I might buy some sandwiches and chicken to bbq back at camp.

Being a Parker Safeway customer for over 30 years I have NEVER seen a pattern of promotional…read moreproduct discounts at Food City or Walmart which have regularly been in error in the favor of either store. However Safeway continues to NOT provide its customers many advertised item discounts to customers unless the customer carefully checks the receipts after every visit. Most people don't realize how narrow profit margins are in the Supermarket business. IF a certain amount of customers think the sale discount was applied Safeway makes up for narrow margins because items are not keyed into the pricing program always in the favor of SAFEWAY ! Recently I contested a discount not provided at the Customer Service counter. A manager scolded me in an authoritative manner saying, " you need to tell the checker that you want to enter your phone number in order to get the discount " ! I reminded the manager a customer should NEVER be responsible to provide or direct a Safeway employee. That is store managements job. Some checkers ask you to enter your number, others don't say anything. Walmart and Food City are straight forward and old school. Safeway uses every marketing trick in the bag to get YOUR $.
