I came into this town for a family event.. and I was cooking…read moretacos for 50 people.. there's not many options to purchase meat.. so I went the night before my event to get 20lbs of carne for tacos.. price said 7.99lb however the butcher said it's 8.49 when they have to cut it up for me. Which I agreed was fine. Then he hits me with he can't do it because he has to clean up... so I had to come back the next day... which I was ok with.. very inconvenient but I had no choice. Oh and I had to prepay... so I did that. I get to the store in a hurry because I had to start cooking. I go to meat dept show my receipt and grab my meat. I start to walk out the store and some lady says "I need to ring you up" I proceed to tell her that I have a receipt and I already paid the night before. I show her my receipt and she just walks away. I guess she don't believe me?? At this point I have no idea what she's doing... she talks to meat dept they verify it's paid for.. she comes to me and says "you paid the wrong price" so I explain I'm in a hurry and that's what your meat guy told me. .50 more per pound to cut up. She says with a big attitude... "I can refund it" knowing this is the only store and I'm in a hurry. So I say I'm in a hurry this is right what your doing.. I also work at a grocery store and you should honor this price considering I already paid for it. And it's not my fault. She said "I'm the owner and if you don't want it, I'll return it" This was the most insulting transaction I've ever been in and the worse part it was the owner. Terrible customer service. The same meat cutter walked in and she was screaming at him that he charged me wrong.. and he clearly said "that's what everyone is charged. $8.49 a pound... so yes I paid $10 more because she was not letting me go... $10 freakin dollars she was holding my meat hostage... because she knew I had no other options at that point. DRIVE TO INDIO ... DO NOT SHOP HERE. She should be shut down.. and the store was completely empty.. and now I know why...

High off of my chocolate sundae and celebrating my own little career win, I realized it was time…read morefor lunch. Since there wasn't a place for me to go for about an hour.... I decided to pop into the local Grocery Outlet and have a looksie at what was on sale. Each one is locally owned so they tend to have different items. It makes it fun to go in and see what weird or interesting stuff you might find. Sometimes there are insane deals. Like 5 bags of snack cheese for $1! Yes I said it! Snack cheese for on the go yummy 5 bags for $1!!!! This GO is one of the better ones I've been to in terms of cleanliness and being orderly. They also had friendly staff which is a new thing for me. I can't get mad at my local GO's staff for being a bit rough, they have to throw out homeless people and drug addicts every single day. Anyway, the staff here were very nice and greeted me. They even asked if I liked the store and if it was my first time in it. They seemed to actually care! I wish I could have had more of that frozen food aisle but because I am working it was a no go. I did pick up a lot of Bang energy drinks for 99! Yay! At my local GO they were $1.99 so what a win! One of the flavors is "purple kiddles " which is cryptic and nonsensical to me...so I know I'm in for a treat! The beer selection didn't get my motor running but they had a sizable wine assortment. They also had the hard stuff but I didn't take the time for all that. My heart belongs to my Whistle Pig at the moment so... the heart wants what it wants! In all a fun way to spend a little time... that is if you're into deals and hunting around. Also if you're into weird products... just don't wait around... snap up what you want because like most things, it won't be waiting around forever! Personally, I like to leave my phone in the car and just take some me time without everyone calling me to just enjoy the inexpensive experience. My phone is always interrupting me during the day....nice to go have a break. GO a little world in itself and we are living in ridiculously expensive times right now, cheap fun is where it's at...i mean for the grocery store of course sheesh ;) Dirty Yelpers!
