He gave me some options and what the cost would be with each option. The price for the job was lower then what I thought it was going to be. I would highly recommend him to all my friends and family.

I hired SOS Plumbing in 2025 for a water heater replacement and paid over $2,200, expecting a…read moreprofessional, code-compliant installation. Less than a year later, while selling my home, the St. Louis County occupancy inspection failed because their installation contained clear code violations, including a missing required expansion tank and a non-compliant flex connector. When I contacted SOS Plumbing, the owner told me he intentionally didn't install the required expansion tank because he was "trying to save me some money" and didn't know I was planning to sell my home. Instead of taking responsibility for the code violations, he quoted me another $800-900 to correct his own work. I refused to pay twice for the same job and hired another licensed plumbing company, paid an additional $750 to bring the installation into compliance. A homeowner shouldn't have to tell a licensed plumber they're planning to sell their home to receive a code-compliant installation. Paying premium prices should mean getting professional work done correctly the first time--not paying someone else to fix it later. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend SOS Plumbing and would urge anyone considering to think twice before trusting these 5 star reviews! Update: Since business owner replied(pretty classic "defensive rewrite of history" response): Just to be clear. please don't reframe "code compliance" as optional upgrades. Those are not "nice-to-have upgrades". they're required for compliant installation. And please stop that "budget priority" claim. That is not true. Don't try to justify omissions on your end. did not request a non-compliant installation or decline required code-compliance work. At no point was I informed that the installation would not pass occupancy inspection or that required code items were being excluded from the work performed. The water heater installation later failed occupancy inspection during the sale of my home, requiring additional work to bring it into compliance. While scope and pricing were discussed, I relied on a licensed contractor to complete a code-compliant installation and to clearly communicate any items required for compliance at the time of service. It is not reasonable to expect a homeowner to independently identify or approve hidden code deficiencies during what was represented as a standard installation. I was not seeking a "budget" or stripped-down installation. If cost-cutting was the primary expectation, I would have chosen a different contractor. The equipment installed was a Bradford White unit, which is a professional-grade water heater, not a low-cost or economy product. I specifically chose to go with this business because they have a premium brand unit available and I know this is not a budget big box store option. So please stop bringing up that "budget" claim. The business's response is misleading and not consistent with what was communicated or agreed upon at the time of service. The characterization that I declined required code-compliance work is not accurate.

A great family-owned professional company!…read more We had to get a toilet replaced & had heard good things about Bieg Plumbing. It was easy from the first call. Scheduling was a breeze & the technician came on time. He was friendly & knowledgeable. He confirmed the make & model of the toilet before getting to work. After installing it he had me come in to inspect it & give it a good flush. He cleaned up the area well too. No complaints. At all. Will100% use Bieg Plumbing again.

Terrible and incompetent. The terrible: They installed a…read morehot water heater. Shortly thereafter a part stopped working which meant no hot water. It was only "partly" covered by warranty. I didn't have to pay for the part but for the labor. Labor hours that included the time it took for the person to call the company that makes the hot water heat, the time it took for him to go to the supply house to get the part, AND time for him to eat lunch. I thought since they sold us this HWH and installed it, it should have been covered 100% The incompetent: When they sent us a bill, I went online to pay it. A few weeks later, a rude (very rude) person from their office calls and asks when we are going to pay. I tell her we already paid. I even went to my credit card account to verify it was paid. A week later we get another bill in the mail with "Second Notice" and "Collection" stamped on it. Was this supposed to be to embarrass us? If they could reconcile what comes in with the accounts, they could have saved themselves a call, postage, and a now very irate customer. Just clownish.

I was really pleased by the process for getting our AC replaced. Matt worked with me on a bid for…read morethe new unit in October, and spoke intelligently about the options, where other companies did not seem as educated on the components. This bid was actually less than the competitors, and they had not been around as long as Harster! It was an easy choice. We scheduled to do the replacement in January. Jim and his team came out to do the install and addressed some additional needs to increase the air flow, make the existing unit up to proper code, and make the filter track so it fit filters appropriately. The last unit installation I'm sure was a DIY job or done by a less qualified company. Jim addressed all those issues. I was on a meeting when he was all finished and didn't get to go see the finished product until after he left. It was beautifully done and very neat.

Harster Heating and Cooling just left my house and I could not wait a second to write a review…read more This company has superior service and timeliness. My furnace stopped working and I called Harster after reading the other reviews on Yelp. The receptionist was very nice and she had a technician out in less than 2 hours. I ended up needing a new system, but two of the nicest and most informative technicians came out the very next day and completed the work. They talked to me about the system and what I can do to maintain it. The price was fair and what they quoted originally did not change after the work had been done. I would recommend this company to anyone.
