For the record, my family has been using Kim's for over 10 years, but they have unfortunately fallen steep in their quality and service. Long story short, they twice could not properly alter or fix a dress and ruined it, causing it to be unwearable. We expected to be fully compensated for the alterations as well as for the price of the dress to be able to purchase a new one. The older woman then tried to tell me to give her the dress and was trying to pull it from my hands across the counter and the next thing we were both not letting go. They did not understand that we were not selling or trading the dress, but that the dress had been ruined after two attempts and we would be taking business elsewhere. They also did not provide a receipt for the charges for each dress, and the other owner was very rude, telling us not to come back, but why would we anyway? Do not go to Kim's alterations. Go to Shareen's Alterations in independence, Missouri instead. They have been around for many years and have also been good to me and my family!

Honestly, had he not been my last resort I would not have left it there anyway with the horrendous smokes smell in the place. I can't imagine anyone gets their items back without having them reek of smoke from being there. I will find a different seamstress/tailor.

As a plus size bride, I did not want to make an already vulnerable experience harder with a difficult experience before my wedding. And the hard part: I wanted them to be local. I feel incredibly blessed that I found Courtney, and that she took me in. She was INCREDIBLE. So sweet, incredibly talented and knowledgeable... not to mention very sensitive. She talked to me, asked me questions about my big day, and made me feel right at home... and EXCITED. I can't thank her enough. Plus, her little studio here in Chico is the best. A great interpersonal experience where you feel like the most important thing.
