First of all i laugh at SOME of the positive reviews obviously written by staff, plain and simple you can tell. Second, the resident office has sadly SOME very unhappy snarky staff who treat you like children and talk to down to you. Plain rude and just not professional, and it shows much of the companies real business plan as a management company. Money $$$$ resort lifestyle? The resident staff want residents who make no fuss and want to do as little as possible in their job, they want an easy ride and do minimal for their job and yes this includes ES ring management who have the same attitude Third, your security is an UTTER joke, the running joke is mariners village has the safest gym in the country because that is where the security guard sits all day,.... no, wait i stand corrected once an hour he drives on his cart to check in at various locations. Anyone wanting to know where security is to steal anything can easily know his schedule, its posted ! In the meantime many cars have been broken into and mail is constantly stolen when left by the mailboxes. and guess where security is instead of patrolling ?? there is going to be some theft and robbery but when security spends 90% of the time checking illegal parked cars in the village there is something horribly wrong( see below) Fourth, I have no issue with security taking backhanders from the towing company to make extra money, everyone knows that they get kickbacks for having illegally towed cars. What REALLY bothers me is that they spend 90% of the time doing that. Everyday there are people using facilities we pay for the pool and jacuzzi etc. not ONCE have i seen security checking peoples IDs by the pool. People have even TOLD security of non residents in groups hanging by the pool and security still does ZILCH but carry on checking cars to make extra dollars. When someone asked the office they were told security is here too protect the village. We have seen people stealing and robbing here from cars , mailboxes, and the residents stop using the facilities now because its overflowing with non residents.. and what is the point of having mariners village resident card? Absolutely nothing, as security does NOTHING to implement this, people even drop their kids off unattended to use the pool as they know its an easy place to leave kids. So we pay for the facilities but yet we don't want to use them as its packed with non residents who don't pay for anything here. Everyday i sit and watch security drive by 3 times a day checking cars and then walk by the crowded pool and not challenge ANYONE for ID living here. Lastly the management has alot to answer for but simply don't care, read the reviews on yelp they gave up on that as the reviews are so awful.. Why don't they care? because they care about retention rates and MV is full most of the time so they don't have to make any effort. It used to be the place to live but ask the real residents not FAKE reviews on here what they think... read more

the word SLUM LANDLORD appropriately sums ES Rings ethics and management .. Their biggest concern is how much $$$$$$ can they make and how cheap can they be. The employees at their venues are paid close to minimum wage from dealing with them they dont give a hoot about the apartment they represent. The management only cares about how much in dollars they can rake in for rent in return giving the renters poor internet service the cheapest and lowest bundled with TV to give low bandwidths and they keep insisting its your computer then want you to plug in through an ethernet cord to get a a STRONG signal. am I in Siberia? The security guard at their venues only check illegally parked cars. thats all they do.. in the meantime a constant stream of non residents use the pools and facilities at our place, they never check anyone by the pool who are residents. most of the time if not checking to tow cars and receive incentives from the towing company, they are at their desk not patrolling... ANY venues you rent from if ES RING is the management company here is a good chance you will have something stolen. Mail goes all missing all the time no concierge service.. the staff at ES RING properties basically want people at their complex who never interact with them so they have to do minimal work ..they hate if you complain or ask them to do anything... they want renters who just pay rent and NEVER complain. they are quick to take money illegally from you and they pay you back in three weeks and even then you have to remind THEM! if it was the other way around they would be beating down your door down!... i moved out due to the lack of security and lack of care by ES ring staff... the security does nothing to stop anything being stolen by not patrolling,. they dont care as the occupancy rate is high but the turn over is even higher.... they never ask the residents what they enjoy about having ES RING as a management company as they know the answer ... they make little effort period and run on a shoestring operation at the facilities to make more $$$$$$ go look at marina city club at what they do that;s where i moved too they have events and get people involved they got a guard at the gate.. ES RING do little if any effort to make you feel part of community just like a giant robot on automatic pilot...i love Mark Wagners comebacks on every post showing how desperate they are to improve ratings but failing miserably.. they dont want to fix the route problem.. their business model just a cheap quick fix and shut tenants up complaining which goes back to my point above! if Mark Wagner ( who will be reading this) all your tenants are happy why such low ratings on yelp.... because unhappy people leave and you dont give a damn never have, never will. until they POST on here and thats your last resort or your business model!.. MAYBE ES RING should rethink their business strategy and stop before it gets this far? read more

To say that E&S Ring Management has failed in their duty to provide even the most basic level of habitable living conditions would be a colossal understatement. This is not a property management company; it is a dereliction of responsibility that actively jeopardizes the health, safety, and well-being of its tenants. The grounds are an absolute disgrace, a testament to their utter negligence. Basic maintenance is clearly an alien concept here. The squalor extends to individual apartment units, which are plagued by a litany of unresolved issues. The laundry room, when it's even partially functional, resembles a biohazard zone. But the true horror lies in the conditions they allow to fester. The presence of urine and feces-covered pee pads littering ground floor patios, where dogs are reportedly confined around the clock, is not only inhumane but creates a breeding ground for disease and an unbearable stench. Even more alarming is the apparent disregard for tenant safety. The fact that violent individuals are allowed to reside here, allegedly attacking and robbing other tenants, paints a picture of utter chaos and a complete breakdown of security. The alleged presence of a violent pedophile openly preying on children at the pool is beyond reprehensible and should be a five-alarm fire for any competent management company. E&S Ring Management's apparent inaction on this front is sickening and frankly, terrifying. The infrastructure of this property is crumbling. Constant plumbing issues have resulted in our water being shut off an unconscionable number of times - over 30 times in less than a year, with outages lasting for over a week on multiple occasions. Their blatant disregard for tenant rights is further evidenced by their repeated failure to provide the legally required 24-hour notice for these disruptions. Inside the units, the situation is no better. Constantly clogged pipes have become breeding grounds for fruit flies, leading to a massive and persistent insect infestation. Silverfish emerge daily from the walls, rendering any attempts at cleanliness futile. The stench of rotten sewage emanating from the bathroom due to these chronic plumbing issues creates an environment that is not only unpleasant but likely poses a significant health risk. E&S Ring Management is not simply incompetent; they are actively creating and tolerating a living environment that is unhealthy, unsafe, and frankly, disgusting. Any prospective tenant considering a property managed by this company should run, not walk, in the opposite direction. This is not a place to live; it is a place to endure, and E&S Ring Management should be held accountable for the deplorable conditions they allow to persist. they do not even deserve 1 star but i cannot give 0 :( read more

Marina Harbor apartments is located in the best part of the Marina where you have a nice 10 minute walk to an exclusive beach. Its located right where the boats are and sea lions are part of the experience. I like it so much I've moved back twice, making the mistake of moving to Westwood, then giving DTLA a try. I work from home and my choice of apartment is important. It's fairly quiet and safe compared to other "nice" parts of LA. My experience moving out the past 2 times was nothing unlike other apartments...don't expect much of your deposit back and you won't be disappointed. For the price, the apartments are reasonable. It's not state of the art with Nest thermostats and electric curtains. The value is really in the location. I get lots of sun with the floor to ceiling windows and southwest facing balcony and sunlight comes deep inside to the other end of the walls. The amenities are great and you could borrow a bike or a tandem kayak to take friends out on the water. In the summer you can take the water bus to Trader Joe's or stop at various parts of the Marina. I love to take a bike out along the beach path all the way past SM pier. I'm in building E and it's nice and away from the main road, Via Marina which can be noisy from the loud cars and motorcycles attracting negative attention...but that's another review. Yes warning, don't get a place with a view of Via Marina, or you'll regret it the first night. Tahiti way is better, or better yet, Bora Bora or one facing the Marina side are the quietest. The maintenance team are all really nice people and spread positive energy. Seeing Besy Rubio's familiar face doing her daily thing and keeping the laundry rooms and hallways in order is always part of a perfect day. Service orders are taken care of quickly and professionally. My 2 suggestions to the management is to please replace that ancient soda machine in the (Bldg E) 3rd floor laundry room. It only takes coins and ripped me off twice on the rare occasion I had enough coins. Please ask the vendor to put in newer machines that holds a variety of options (how about a vote each 3 months?). And a machine that uses NFC technology (think Apple pay)...or at least one that takes credit card as the Laundry machines do. People just don't use cash or have coins these days. Also please pay that $100 or so to put a nest thermostat in the units, or give us the option to buy it for you. Little things like that can make the place feel more 2020s and less 1980s. I'd give that last star if I could just trust and use the soda machine! read more

I have been looking for the perfect place for me and my bedridden mom who is on Hospice and is spending the last few moments of her life with me, after moving her ( a few months ago) out of an abusive situation in Alabama. I need to move mom and I into a nicer safer area and bc of that, I have been looking at Marina Harbor, The Tides specifically. I went to see the property at the end of last week and again yesterday. I asked for leasing specials, he said there were not any. Unfortunately, The leasing agent , Galen, notified me of a leasing special ONLY after it was too late for me to act on the special, he said he was not there when it started and no one told him when he came in. He was great other than that but his abilities to help with negotiation were not an option. so, I called to speak to manager and Jordan answered and rudely spoke to me and said the leasing manager is Latoya and she's on the email chain between me and Galen the whole time. I emailed again and asked the manager there , Latoya , to honor it since he didn't notify me in time or offer me anything else, literally anything to make up for it. Despite multiple requests, Latoya refused to honor the expired special or offer any alternative accommodation to address the miscommunication. They ALSO raised the price of the apartment an extra $25 a month, immediately after me viewing it. I feel like the team here is purposefully unhelpful. This experience has left me feeling dismissed and undervalued as a potential resident (just a number). My mother and I are in a very sensitive life situation, I want the best views and experience for her ...and I had hoped Marina Harbor would be a community that valued compassion and fairness, EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS PLACE really felt like home and I was super excited, until the E&S Ring employees put a grey cloud over things. read more

Do not rent with E&S Ring Management. I live at their Mariners Village property and it has a myriad of systemic and ongoing problems for which the owners and management take no responsibility or accountability. For example, there was no hot water on numerous occasions throughout 2020, 2021, and 2022. Finally, I went without hot water for 4 days in June 2022 and requested that these 4 days be taken off my June rent. A sensible and appropriate request given that I did not take any action or complain any of the other times there was no hot water in the past but decided to draw the line when I took cold showers for 4 days in the same month. While Mariners Village has a fully-staffed "Resident Services" unit, I was told to submit my request online and was then contacted by an attorney who denied my request. Not only do they fail to fix their aging systems in a timely manner and have their residents go without hot water for days on end, but they will not even take responsibility and accommodate their residents' request for some sort of discounts on the rental prices which do not reflect the reality of the apartment complex. Another example, is that my apartment got flooded and I had to spend 9 days outside of my home because the tenants above me are are severe drug users who are not only unable to properly use and maintain the toilet allowing it to flood three floors, but they have been terrorizing myself and all the surrounding units with incessant fighting, screaming, and abusing their dog at all hours of the day and night. The sheriff is out here multiple times a week, every week, and nothing changes In summary, this place is a total shit-show, and the worst part is that they do not try to acknowledge, accept, or take responsibility for any of it. read more

this is basically scum landlord management at its worst. they make their places look like paradise but the staff are barely out of grade school and its their first job so you pay high end rent but get low end staff. i had called Mariners village to complain the staff are useless their so tried ES ring called and elita she took a message for mark wagner the portfolio manager, of course i NEVER received a call back ... once this stuff is on YELP they panic and add all these " we do what we can please call us " nicities because they dont want people to read the bad stuff , on here they dont want to stop it at the source which is bad and poor management, they just stem the flow of bad information instead of cleaning it up form day one. this is the most notorious corrupt management companies as well in the marina who truly dont care and try to extort money out of it tenants by nickel and diming them.. any place that has E & S Ring be warned..... they sell you to get in then you are stuck with poor poor management at the facility and at E & S ring.. they have a HUGE turn over due to people being unhappy with their staff at apartment facilities, although 90 percent full people stay a few years once they catch on to the poor service and poor management stay away wait for mark wagner below to write an excuse now about why he did not call me back... 4th grade employees at the front desk and i have been a fifteen year resident at Mariners village..useless and they STILL pretend to care! read more

Let me preface that this is definitely NOT for the management company, which has a variety of issues. This is specifically for a maintenance worker we had that truly saved the day when all others couldn't or told us we may have to use our insurance to stay elsewhere until the electricity and hot water was fixed (only our unit). Of course I let the management know that that is NOT how renters insurance works as I was an agent for 24 years. I reminded them that part of their responsibility to make our unit habitable is by providing among other things, hot water and electricity. And it would need to be fixed within 24 hours or the management company would be paying for our stay elsewhere. Well, after a couple other maintenance men came over and said that they just could not work on the obvious issue which was our circuit breaker that needed to be replaced, we had a wonderful young and new worker that came over name Lopez at Marina Harbor, and he got it fixed and truly saved the day. He saved the E & S Ring money from having to put us up and he saved us another night without hot water and electricity. There should be more people here like Lopez that are young, dynamic and get the job done. Thank you, Lopez for doing such a great job and being so kind in the whole process! I hope E&S Ring treats you well and keeps you around, because you deserve it! read more

E&S Ring Management at Mariners Village is outstanding. Everyone here goes above and beyond to be as helpful as possible, resolve issues smoothly, and make living here a wonderful experience. Just last week, my husband and I had an mixup with a furniture delivery company and they delivered a large piece of furniture days before their assembly team was scheduled to arrive. As I was told the assembly team was not able to remove it from our package center, where the management team agreed to store it, I called the office and explained my husband and I both have back injuries and can't lift an item that heavy. Danny understood our dilemma and agrees to help us. Well, not only did he help us, he personally and individually hauled the piece of furniture from the package room to our apartment-and he did this after hours, on his time. He went above and beyond as w can't thank him enough. An example emblematic of the sterling service care and concern of E&S Ring Management here at Mariners Village. read more

We had massive flooding in our master bathroom today at 4600 Via Marina due to an old faucet handle. It literally caused a geyser of water shooting up to the ceiling. The maintenance team here at Mariners Village has previously done excellent work the few times we have needed their services over the last 14 years. Today was no exception! Ricardo and the team were responsive. Ricardo assessed the situation in 15 seconds and deployed the maintenance team to tackle not only our problem but ensuing issues impacting residents below us. He explained what was going to be done and what the clean up plan would be including fixing the resulting damages over the next few days. He problem solved, fixed the issue and eased our minds all at the same time. He was considerate and professional. Ricardo, the Mariner's Village team is lucky to have you on staff. Thank you to everyone in the office at Mariners Village who took our frantic calls and relayed our urgent messages. We appreciate you!! read more

I wish to acknowledge William in Security here at Mariners Village who stopped earlier this week to help me fill my flat tire with his portable air machine he had in his car. I simply asked him when I was leaving the parking garage if it looked flat and he was so kind to take the time to tell me to pull over to help me out! So very kind of him!! I also wish to acknowledge Lopez who has worked here at MV for many years, who has been a kind and wonderful person in Maintenance and has taken care of so many of my requests! Everyone loves Lopez! I was saddened to hear that he moved next door to Marina Harbor. I will miss him and I know he will prove himself to be a TREASURE over there at MH, just as much as he has been to all of us here at MV over the years. I had to write a review about these two OUTSTANDING employees who go the extra mile again and again just to help people and make their day a little brighter! You guys ROCK!!!! read more

Besy is one of the maintenance folks here and she brightens my day every time I see her. She's full of love and committed to keeping the grounds clean and neat, always with a smile. I love how Marina Harbor 24/7 is constantly staying on keeping the community beautiful, clean and safe. Amazing community!!! Amazing property & I looked at every possible property on the water in the area, plus I have friends in the area on other properties that I've experienced that way too). Hands down, Marina Harbor wins in my opinion (including in layout and the amount of rent compared to other places). Truly the best bang for your buck - stunning basin it sits on too compared to other basins in the Marina. It literally feels like living at a resort 24/7! read more

I love living here and find the property well taken care of. The woman who maintains the hall elevator stairwell and the outside grounds, Betsy Rubio is really good at her job. She has been here for years and works very hard. I haven't even seen her picking up after the dogs outside. The tenants that live in my building are very messy and she is always picking up after us and making sure that things smell fresh and sparkle. I don't know how she does it every day time and time again. I am posting this because I want her to know that I am grateful. I think the Marin harbor complex should reward her and all the other maintenance people for their hard work and dedication. We are not an easy bunch to take care of. Thank you! read more
