Exceptional Expertise, Craftsmanship, and Professionalism!…read more We invited bids from three highly qualified companies to rebuild the roof deck over our garage. Although TGR's bid fell in the middle of the price range, their expertise set them apart. We were particularly impressed by their understanding of the challenges involved in constructing a flat roof over a garage--one that would drain properly and, most importantly, remain watertight. From start to finish, the experience was outstanding. Jordan provided a prompt, detailed, and accurate estimate. Martin, the production manager, devised an excellent solution to our roofing challenges. And Dale, the project manager, was frequently on-site, attentive to every detail, and always easy to reach. True to their word, the entire project was completed in just two days. The crews worked tirelessly, taking only a lunch break, and their skill and craftsmanship were evident in every detail. Everyone we encountered was courteous, friendly, and thoroughly professional. The coordination among the team members was seamless. TGR delivered exactly what they promised, on time and with exceptional attention to quality. We couldn't be more pleased with the result and would recommend them without hesitation!

Additionally, we were replacing all of our fresh water lines to and in the house. I would have given Jim and Double J ten stars had Yelp allowed me to do that! I have never had a better contracting experience than I had with Double J! Our plumber doing the repiping recommended Double J for the remodel work. Prior to the beginning of work, Jim gave us a spreadsheet detailing what would be done by who and when. Throughout the work, he communicated with us frequently advising us what was happening and what would be done next. He worked with us all the way through, helping us make the necessary decisions that we needed to make and purchase the things that we agreed to purchase. Jim works with a group of small, family owned subcontractors who have the same work ethic as Jim. They all were fantastic. The work was great, finished on time and in budget. I am already planning the next job I want him to do. I highly recommend Double J if you are looking for a great contractor. John Schmill

My mom had just died, and i got dumped pretty brutally, plus I have pretty bad social anxiety, so having a bunch of people tearing up my house while i live in the garage was never going to be fun. But Jordan is so chill and helpful and positive and just gives off such a general capable vibe that he was absolutely the best possible person for the job. The one time i heard him lose his cool was when he chewed out one of his workers for, of all things, cussing! The guy was bad-mouthing my house, and Jordan told him he could leave if he didn't like it. I was thinking, hell yeah! You tell him Jordan! And not only does he have a calming effect on a tough situation, he also does good work and i admire his attention to detail and flexibility. He is earnest and sincere, and he listened to all my ideas and concerns, and any feedback he had was smart and informed, and he gently steered me away from some dumb ideas i had. In the end the only part of the remodel i don't like is the part I did. I painted my fireplace a gross color. For all the other design choices i was to afraid to make on my own, he had someone he knew to help me through it. The lighting lady, the flooring people, the designer lady, all great and helpful. Really, if you want good work and good vibes, Jordan is your guy. And shout-out to his worker guy Christian too. That guy is a ray of sunshine!

I hired Alan to replace cedar shakes and do some finishing woodwork on the exterior of our home…read more We met Alan based on a referral from another home services company. From the beginning, Alan was methodical, communicative and prompt. He showed up to give us an estimate and answered my numerous questions about the job at hand. By the end of the same day of his initial visit, we had a detailed estimate in email, which we approved. Our house was remodeled in the past with uniqueness and quality materials in mind, but with 80% completion on many aspects. We needed a contractor who could help complete our unique vision. Alan replaced a large area of cedar shakes on the back of our home, helping erase the evidence of a decayed deck we previously removed. He also crafted a solution for a corner where the previous homeowner didn't seal up the house properly. Alan was organized and gave great attention to detail. He communicated his arrival and departures each day, and ended up finishing ahead of schedule. I am super happy with the level of attention that was paid to each detail of the job, and will hire Alan again for a future project.

Michael was responsive and communicative, quickly notifying us of changes. He got the job done with high-quality standards and within a reasonable timeframe, despite delays and set backs. For example, in late Feb 2025 there was a significant snow/ice storm that delayed the project by 2 days. Michael showed up on the weekends to continue the job to try and make up time. He was consistent, reliable, and transparent. Another example: Our master bath floor was not level enough for the tile, and Michael was clear and open about what had to be done to get the job finished to a top-quality standard. It added a couple days to the timeframe (and some cost), but the final result was well worth it. Last example: The half bath toilet flange had several errors from the original build and contractor work, and the toilet we bought had a manufacturing defect (leak) we found after installing the toilet. Despite these obstacles and added time, Michael brought the flange to code, uninstalled the defective toilet, and installed the defect-free replacement. There were several curveballs with our job and Michael handled them professionally and courteously, making sure we were involved with every change decision along the way. We are thinking about hiring him for our second (guest) bath remodel, and wish him all the success a small business owner can have!
