Stopped in for a last min gel manicure for a wedding and they did a fantastic job - my manicurist was very meticulous and I honestly feel that this was one of the best manicures I have had from the actual results. Made me bleed + sloppy work. Got a fell manicure and it was awful 1 - After 2 coats, she manicurist asked if I wanted another coat - it was still pretty translucent despite being a dark color so I said yes and then she immediately applied a top coat. When I looked at it, the policy was incredibly translucent still despite the color not being that way, so she had to apply a 4th coat and another top coat. 2 - she painted all over my skin including painting too far part the back of the nail so that the skin side edge looks raised and really sloppy 3 - when I pinged this out, she started cutting my cuticles and before I realized what she was doing, she cut so much that I started bleeding 4 - noticed polish all over my skin but not covering the free edges of my nails, but at that point was too done with mention anything. Hands down the best nail salon in the City! I've lived in SF for 3 years and have tried countless places. I recently moved downtown and found this tiny little shop that I'd never been to or even heard of before and decided to give it a try and was so pleasantly surprised! I went to Dynasty Nail two weeks ago for my first time. They were kind and took their time. It was a great experience. The massage was very nice and relaxing. I even opted to get a back massage for 10 minutes after my mani pedi. Now, after 2 weeks, and why I wanted to write a review, is that my nails and feet still look great. Valentine season is upon us and both my favorite 3d nail stylist were booked to the max! Desperation set in but I remembered this location while walking to Sushiritto during lunch hour. Instead of lunch, I decided to be brave and drop by to see what kind of service they provided. No luck in the 3d nail department but they said they can do nail art. The nice lady told me it's $25 for a fill and $5 for heart designs on 2 nails. I nodded up and down for the good of my nails. I mean, I really needed a fill and it couldn't wait any longer. There's not a lot of color selection, so, I picked the typical OPI bright red and pink. I sat down with lady #1 and then lady #2 came by in 2 minutes and next thing you know it, I had 2 ladies working on each hand simultaneously. I was perplexed and confused because I thought both my hands would look completely different from each other after it was done. I was stretched out like a bird flapping my wings as each lady was cleaning up my cuticles, efiling, applying the fill, and etc. It was unusual but I guess it cuts down on production time. After my nails were filed, shaped, and cleansed, lady #3 enters. She polishes my nail with OPI red. I show them the heart size and where to put it and Lady #3 goes for it. She then shows me the pink heart and asked me what I think, I paused for a lonnnnnggg moment told her it's okay, even though, it wasn't really okay. Right there and then, I think her confidence went down. So, Lady #4 had to take over. But her nail art skills were even poor than Lady #3. At that moment, I felt bad and asked them to please remove the heart designs because it wasn't to my taste. Instead to just paint the 2 last nails in pink, that was flashy enough for me, I thought. Lady #1 came back to paint the top coat, cleaned the polish around my nails and threw my hands under a nail dryer. I sat there for 15 minutes to give it a good dry. And when I took my hands out to examine them, the job the 4 ladies did was pretty and both hands were even! I'm pleased with the final result but thought it was odd that I was passed around like a football to get my nails done. At any rate, mission accomplished. My nails are so pretty, not the usual flashy nails that I'm accustomed to but it'll do for now. Notes: All 4 ladies were very nice but they tend to talk to themselves in Vietnamese. I just ignored it. The decor can use some sprucing up but they were pretty sanitary with their equipment. Don't let the name of this shop scare you, there are no dragon ladies with long curly fingernails, just nice ones with hands ready to work on your hands :) read more

I can't hate. I used to come here years ago when I used to get threaded. I remember why I stopped coming. It's because they speak Vietnamese constantly and I always felt like they were talking crap about me (it's all about me!) They had the time and promised me I would get back in time for work. They did finish in time. Two ladies worked on me, the owner on my right, the worker bee on my left. The owner pushed my cuticles down pretty hard and I could feel the tiny pinches. I ain't no bitch, but I would think people in this profession would care about their clients. I cringed when I saw their nail files were white with clients before me. I thought about STDs on my nails. I also grimaced when I noticed their sterilization jars were empty with nothing but blue liquid. Tells me they don't use them. Also, I gotta give them a little credit with the reduce, reuse and recycle. Their sterilization jars were former pickle jars or whatever they were. Pretty ghetts (aka ghetto). My nails came out pretty, I gotta admit. And in the nick of time too! A lot of positive reviews here cite the price and convenience factor, but here are some great alternatives I've tried in the heart of SF that are just a few short blocks away. Go to Lucky Nails just off of Market St for the SAME PRICE ($15 for regular manicure). Also they have $40 for gel/shellac and better service, a higher sanitation standard, WAY more color choices, and a lot more personal space. Or if you're willing to venture a bit further north into FiDi, go to Sweeties Nails which is appointment only, but is quaint and modern and has much more custom attention and an even higher standard for cleanliness for $1 MORE (16 for regular manicure) and an incredibly affordable $35 for gel. Dynasty Nails is located in an alley less than a block away from Market and New Montgomery St. this was a the ONLY reason I came here was because they took reservations for 7:30pm and kept the place open until 8:45pm for my manicure and my friend's acrylic fill last minute. I didn't have high expectations, and didn't intend to come back again unless I was pleasantly surprised. I was not. My main complaint is cleanliness. There's obvious dirt on the carpet and the walls are yellowed and dilapidated. The tools they used were hopefully clean (as I didn't see them take the tools out of a sanitized disposable baggie as I usually do), but I also didn't get any infections afterwards (phew!). My 2nd complaint is that they rounded and sanded my nails down to the nub. I was in obvious discomfort and pulled away a few times, but they continued with the same carelessness. Yes, I'd love my nails to be round, but no, not at the expense of losing some skin or having my nail sanded to the nub. Lastly, there were only a handful of colors available - they ranged from purple to pink to red hues, but that was it. The salon is small and has 2 old loveseats and 2 manicure stations, but I'm not complaining about the size of the business or how cramped it was to have more than 4 customers in there at a given time. They also overbooked so we had to wait awkwardly standing in a corner. While 2 manicurists worked on our nails, another lady vacuumed loudly, swept, and generally displaced dirt and dust across the room. I get that they wanted to close for the night, but this was pretty gross. read more

My co-worker and I had high hopes for this place, it's so convenient to work and offered lots of services at a decent price. We made a lunch time appointment for a 'full set' of acrylic nails each. Cost-$35 for her, $40 for me (although I was not told about the price difference in advance) because I got a French Manicure. The very next day, both of us realized the acrylic was applied WAY too thick, uneven, and the edges were lifting on almost every nail. And i guess the pedicure isnt half bad....BUT... 1. It was dirty 2. I assume that most people in the FiDi would get their nails done on their lunch break, but it was empty....why? 3. Normally this doesnt bother me, but for some reason here, today it did. 4. i had to pay $5 more for the massage/spa chair for the pedi, and the massage lasted 18 minutes, and then the chair stopped moving, and then if i had wanted it extended id have had to pay more! just push a frickin button...its no work for you! The chair does the work. Seriously, are you that hard up for money that you have to charge extra for a chair massage? 5. Also overpriced. With tip i paid $26 for a pedi. Its been a really long time since ive gone to a "cheap" nail salon, and had to pay that much Im going to stick with Salon Bella Linda. DO NOT SIT IN SPA CHAIRS - They charge extra without any warning This place is extremely overpriced for what it is. I was told to go upstairs and I felt like I might get kidnapped and sold into slavery walking through this creepy back hallway. There was equipment and trash everywhere. I get upstairs, pick out my polish form an extremely poor selection and told to sit in the spa chair. 1. she cuts my toe nail too short and then proceeded to file it down to the quick. This causes my toes to be pushed together (wet with polish) messing up my pedicure and causing her to have to do a half assed re-paint 3. I get moved to the drying area and she yells at me to stay for 10 minutes. All I was doing was rolling down my jeans. Shouting is not needed. 4. $23 bucks. I was even more shocked when I went to handher a 20 and she told me it wasn't enough... $23 for a pedicure, shitty leg massage and a spa chair. Verdict: Not going back. Ever. read more
