Stopped in with our church group right after services soon after the restaurant had opened. Pleanty of cars in the parking lot when we arrived. We opted for the buffet and there was plenty of food to select from. Loved the Egg Rolls being they are very hard to find now a days. All of the Chicken and shrimp fried rice was excellent. Loved the fish and the fresh shrimp to peel. Only down side was that they did not have Low-Sodium Soy Sauce. There were 8 of us and did not hear any one complain about any of the meal at the table. Out waitress was excellent and kept the table clean as we went up for more courses and drinks were kept full. They only serve Pepsi products and do not have Zero Sugar Pepsi. Perfect lunch spot if you want something more than burgers/pizza, or have kids in tow. Plenty of options for most any kind of picky eater, everything is hot and fresh tasting. Even with the lunch rush, the buffet table is kept well stocked, and if you order off the menu, it isn't a long wait for the menu items (prepared fresh, not poached off the buffet). Came out here to visit some friends and they really love this spot, so we figured we'd give it a try. For me, it was just ok. The buffet setup looked good at first glance, but the food was a little cold and tasted like it needed to be reheated or swapped out for a fresh batch. I had the spring rolls, rice, and chow mein noodles -- not the best, but passable. Now the inside of the restaurant is actually very well done. The décor is nice, the staff are friendly, and the service was on point the entire time. They do have a strange parking lot layout, but it works once you figure it out. Restrooms were clean, which is always a plus. Overall, I'd only come back because my friends enjoy it and it makes them happy. If it was up to me alone, it wouldn't be my first choice. read more

This might be the most disgusting Chinese I've ever had. It's like "Big Chinese" versus family owned Chinese. I put in a big pickup order. It tasted like they filled the order from the buffet versus making it fresh. Tasted terrible. Mo Goo Gai Pan should be called "Moo Goo Shite in the Can." Mongolian beef was awful. Me being a gringo can make better Mongolian beef from IG videos. Panda Express tastes better. That's right. I'm recommending chain food over this place. read more

I give the one star because the food was good, however, my child and I went to eat there for dinner tonight. We arrived about 8:00 p.m. if not a bit earlier than that. They close at 9:00 p.m. Go look at their website and you can clearly see that it says they close at 9:00 p.m. Well, we come in around 8:00, they seated us and we began to eat. I went back to get more food from the buffet, and they were closing everything down. As I was eating, one boy was taking up the soy sauce and asked for mine. I was not even close to being done with it. Then a woman came up to me at 8:26p.m. and told me they did not have any other customers than us, so we needed to hurry up and finish eating because they close at 8:30 p.m. When it came time to pay that bill, oh they charged me the full price. Nice looking restaurant. Inside was comfortable, staff friendly and helpful. Surprisingly the bathroom was clean. The food was just barely "ok". The traditional green beans were done well but cold, mushroom dish was very cool (spoiling temps.) The chicken wings were good but lacked flavor, seasoning. The salt & pepper crab and shrimp were improperly cooked so you had to peel them, you couldn't eat shells! All in all ok for a buffet. Very limited pieces of sushi, but ok because it appears to have been left from lunch! Rice was dry and hardish and didn't look desirable. The he sea weed salad was ok! This restaurant had very little items to choose from. They need more variety of different foods. Compared to the Chinese Buffet in Killeen, this place needs much improvement. All you can eat buffet. Quite the variety; lots of seafood options too. Our favorite thing had been the coconut shrimp. Staff were very polite and attentive. I deliver tea and coffee to these guys and have for years. I've never actually eaten here before though due to timing of when I get there. I finally had a chance to stop and enjoy their lunch buffet and I wasn't disappointed. The building itself is really pretty and scenic. It's large and open and helps you feel very welcome. They have some fish tanks which is fun for the kids to look at. They have a huge selection of food for the lunch buffet. I hear the dinner buffet has a lot more sea food options which is something I may consider later. The food is really fresh, especially if you come either at 11am or 4pm. Those hours have the freshest food. Come here and leave satisfied. Easily the best Chinese buffet in central texas. read more

I actually rate this as a 3 1/2 star. But I round up because it is higher than a 3 star. I am always a bit leery of all you can restaurants, but even more so of Chinese all you can eat. I have had some bad experiences. We went to Dynasty by request of the birthday gal. It was actually good. Staff were very friendly. The cream cheese fried wontons were my favorites. The shrimp fried rice and broccoli n' chicken were also my favorite. All in all, the food was pretty good. I will visit again if I am in the area. Our waitress recommended trying a Chinese wine. I do not remember the name and cannot seem to find it on their menu. It was a very good, semi-sweet white wine. But be careful, it is a very strong wine. Food was very mediocre, while the staff was nice the ability to get a drink delivered to the table took over 30 minutes. There was an very nice dressed woman walking around that I suspect was some form of floor manager but she didn't appear to understand how to manage. The 15.95 price for food plus 2.98 for drink would not be outrageous if food quality and service matched. I did not try the sushi bar because it appeared as a tack on so they can say Asian Fusion. Nothing in this food reminded me of true fusion cooking. It should just be call "White peoples Asian Hits. I will not be returning. The fish tanks are stunning! The food was very hot to the point that plastic was melting, It's like they nooked really old food in the microwave. Rubbery chicken and beef in the sweet and sour chicken and broccoli beef combination meal. mushy broccoli. Rancid Spring rolls that tasted so bad you immediately spit it out. There are closer options to Lampasas but we have found Dynasty Chinese Restaurant to offer consistently high quality food that is continuously being replenished no matter what time of day we have dined. My go to items are the always flavorful Hot and Sour Soup with crispy fried noodles, the crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside cream cheese rangoons, and the battered chicken with a choice of sweet and sour, lemon, or savory garlic sauce. There is a huge assortment of other noodle and rice dishes, fresh sushi, as well as a salad and dessert bar. There is a choice of four soups on the soup bar; wonton soup, egg drop soup, seafood soup, and my favorite hot & sour soup. Dynasty also offers to go boxes for takeout priced by the pound as well as takeout menu items cooked fresh. There is ample parking with many pull through spaces as well as a covered entrance to help keep the ladies dry while you park the car when it is raining. I was craving Chinese today for lunch/dinner, so ordered off the lunch menu. It's a good value. For $11 plus some change you get an entree, rice, egg roll, and soup. I chose the Dynasty beef (L21) with fried rice, sweet & sour soup, and an egg roll. The Dynasty beef was okay. My favorite part is the crunchy veggies. The rice had a weird flavor, the egg roll was kind of mushy, and I didn't taste the soup. All in all, it wasn't memorable, but it did fill a hole. read more

This buffet is usually decent but we will absolutely avoid visiting on any holidays because they do up-charge. $25 per person for a buffet, when they are out of almost everything, is absurd. They stayed out of California rolls, crab legs, and even basic offerings the entire visit. If you're going to charge extra for special items on Father's Day, you should make sure they're well stocked. This was not the case. There were no bowls for ice cream. An employee said she would get some dishes, but never did. Sushi was depleted as soon as it was put out and the one employee making it kept it that way.. A group of my close friends and I ate at Dynasty Restaurant which I will never do again. There were 10 of us and we had waited about 45 minutes. When I noticed a group of 12, who came in after us and had no reservation, being ushered in ahead of us, I became concerned. We are an older group, and most of us have diabetes. I decided to ask one of the wait staff when a worker stepped in and identified himself as the manager. He told me in no uncertain terms that if I didn't like it I could leave. This is an unsatisfactory and a retaliatory step for any member of any staff and especially management to take. I ordered Chow Mein, but it wasn't. It was made not with Chinese cabbage, but with American cooked by an undocumented Mexican. I've been a customer of theirs for 36yrs.
