Third time visiting this small but incredibly amazing buffet. Perfect timing for my dirve as it was time to eat dinner. Can't believe I forgot to give them their 5 stars before. Incredible food. They could not present their buffet food in full-sized trays but the half trays were always fresh and refilled. My favorites were available especially the coconut shrimp. The hot and fresh baked spinach was amazing. The smallness of the place made the ambiance cozy and quiet enough to enjoy great food. Bathroom was clean as always. Owner and staff were hospitable as always. Owner even remembered me for my visits. Will always pass this place from the highway whenever I could..I sadly live around 3 hrs from it. It has been about 5 years since I've been back to this place. Even though I saw the recent negative review, I was still willing to come it here. But after this experience I don't know if I should come back. I decided to dine in. I had ordered the chicken fried rice. I politely ask if I could have it without salt. The waiter looked at me funny and told me she would have to ask the manager. Surpassingly the manager was right behind me. As soon as the manager heard my request, he threw a big temper tantrum and was speaking in Chinese talking about me. I was sitting there in shock like wow! I may now speak Chinese but I understood his demeanor. All because i ask my food to be cooked without salt? I definitely will not be back probably for another 3 to four years. I love Asian food, my introduction family restaurants in Chicago ,specifically argyle and Broadway. I would ask for dishes they made at home and was so delighted by the complexity of flavors,crispness of veggies and umami of sauces/meat. Sadly,none of those things were present. The portions were good. Chicken and cashews,with soggy cashews. Szechwan beef with limp veggies and no spiciness. Bean curd and veggies,bean curd was good,veggies exhausted-comatose. No taste,no crisp in the egg rolls. If this is what you're serving at your tables,just order from KFC. This is not working. Back to the drawing board. read more

Been going here for years lately food has been a little less than OK. Had the chicken low mein and ordered to go. Got home not sure what the meat was but not chicken looked like ham or something also order fried rice which was not that good as well not sure if it was just thrown together or because it was close to closing time. I went here for the first time tonight and I'm really hoping that this is just a COVID thing. The food is barely warm (I hope I don't get sick) and I guarantee wouldn't pass a public health inspection. I was always told this place was good but it was barely edible. My entire family left with a bad taste in their mouth literally. We tried at least one of everything and I couldn't find any thing that was good. However, my husband says the only thing that is good is their store bought ice cream. Great Customer Service / Terrible Food I came here with my family recently and got sick. The food isn't fresh and looks stale. A lot of left over food is used in the stuffed & cheese covered dishes. The amount of batter used here is insane and absolutely tanks the dish. I definitely will not be coming back to this place. Great little hidden gem in the heart of Belton. The food is served buffet style and they constantly refresh it when low amounts with great tasting freshly cooked foods. Took my son and his friends here. I always wanted to know what it was like. Because it is the BEST Chinese buffet in town, I guess. This place is clean. It looks better on the inside than you might think. The buffet is good. Lots of different things. Honey chicken, orange chicken. Pork ribs. Green beans. Rice and lo mien noodles. 2 types of egg rolls. Everything was fresh as we got there at 6:00. The waitress was attentive and polite. The music was Chinese and also pleasant. The feeling was ok. The staff was very nice and friendly but the quality and variety of food was very poor. Paying $10.95 for the 2 items I actually enjoyed was not worth the visit. The bbq ribs, chicken wings and baked custard were delicious but only found on my second trip to find good food. The general Taos chicken was soggy and the chow mien tasted like spaghetti noodles in a vegetable broth, not much flavor at all. First, to get it out of the way, yes the buffet section is small, however, it is packed with flavor This location has been voted "one of BELL Counties" best. If you are Like me and fancy more authentic cuisine vs the americanized version of our Asian persuaded delights, this place rocks a killer menu. All of the food is great, yet there is something greater yet about this local. Its small, so the buffet is constantly refreshed but moreover is the customer service by this family owned eatery. To me, that is the intangible that can't be replaced, did I mention very reasonably priced. I've been eating here for years, and I would stack it against any "super buffet". The food is way too greasy. The building is so cold that by the time you get back to your table your food is cold. Also wish there was more veggie options. Haven't been to Jake's in a year and half and I don't know if I'll be back. They do have gloves for you to wear while fixing your plates. I can't vouch for everything, although it all looked good. The place is small and cozy. My husband got sick while in Waco and they transferred him to the hospital in Temple. He wasn't eating anything because nothing tastes good at the hospital on a liquid diet. His guilty pleasure is Chinese food so I looked for a place to get him wonton soup with no wanton, lol. He ate it and said it was delicious. But I also have to brag about the cashier that helped me. She was amazing, sweet and understanding. My Husband and I have been looking for a Chinese Food place in the area- and so far- this is one I could see us visiting back again. Clean, friendly staff, reasonably priced, and hot & fresh food! I enjoyed their popular Honey Chicken. I do prefer jalapeño chicken and green beans at Dynasty in Temple but I think Chinese food is all palate preference anyway. I called in for a delivery to my house. The lady on the phone was so rude. I asked her how long our delivery was going to take. She said "I don't know, I have a lot of deliveries." I told her I need a time frame because I have a little baby. She said anywhere from 1-2 hours. I think that is unacceptable! I then stated "I am sorry I need a definite time frame I will not be able to order my food." As a result she told me she missed a call because of us and hung up on me.
