After researching many places in Phoenix, I decided to contact Dynamic Door for a considerable residential project. The receptionist knew nothing about what they do or don't do telling me, "She thinks they 'used to' do what I requested", but took some time to find out, only to give me more vague information afterwards. I asked to speak to anyone who knew what was going on, and she wanted personal information beforehand which I politely refused to give, only to be told the salesperson needed this information to call me back (?) so I hung up. Within two minutes a woman with an attitude called me back, clearly acting as if she was doing me a favor, so I let her know I actually did her a favor by answering her call and was not under the impression Dynamic Door Service wanted or needed my business to which she answered, "Okay" and the point of sales call ended like that. This is why YELP is worth checking, stuff like this should be noted. Don't give your money to ANY places that have no respect for you and give you this kind of first impression. read more

I called Dynamic Door Service back in March for service. I was not impressed but was going to leave things be until I recently found out that I was sold a discontinued unit. That wouldn't be awful if all of the following had not occurred. 10:30am, Spoke with Kim who said Elliott would be here between 2-4pm. ($75 service call + repairs) 4:17pm no show/no call. Called again, got multiple voicemails to call different numbers. Did so and waited patiently. 5:28pm called again. Anna contacted Derrick. He calls me back and makes excuses but never apologizes. Says he'll be here in 40 min. 7:00pm, 90 minutes later, Elliott shows up, not Derrick. Elliott let's me know that they dropped the ball. He admits he was on a three way call and Kim never communicated regarding the appointment. Elliott is a nice guy but also a real salesperson. He told me what he thought was wrong and gave me the sales pitch. I asked for an "economical replacement". Not cheapest but economical. He says he has a good one but not on his truck. He has a better one on truck for a couple hundred more. Surprise!! I agree. Come to find out he doesn't have that one either! But he does have a third one that is even more pricey. I hesitate here...I did ask for economical, right?. He calls the boss about making a deal on the opener that is here, but Derrick says he can't give me a deal on that one, he'll bring over the other. So we wait again. When he arrives he brings the more expensive (DISCONTINUED) one instead of the economical one we first talked about. If he was going to deliver one couldn't he have brought the less expensive one? When he arrives, he's less than 10 feet from me (the garage door is 1/3 down and he chooses to stay outside to communicate with Elliott), yet he is still unable to apologize for the company error and taking 8 hours of my day. Makes sense though as he was unable to even say "hello" upon entering my property. Derrick leaves. Elliott says he was really embarrassed and continues working on the door and my wallet, and finally finishes after 10pm. The total was just over $2200! This was not urgent and the door was NOT replaced. That was just motor and add-ons. And absolutely no discount for the 8 hour runaround. But it was good to know that Derrick was still available, when Elliott finished after 10pm, to accept credit card payment. Oh yeah, and still no apology. We live and we learn. Do not make the same mistake I did. AVOID calling Dynamic Door Service. read more

No complaints here, these guys do work for me on my home and at our business with 12 locations valley wide. Pricing is better than or right on par with REAL door companies. They've been able to handle any job we could throw their way. You might get a better price from some Joe Sixpack character who drives around doing work on the side, but hire a professional and get it done right-the first time. Would absolutely recommend to family, friends, and of course anyone reading this review. Update 03/12/2018 - These guys should have a concert they're such great performers. This time they installed a new set of French doors for my wife and I. I couldn't be more pleased with the final product, communication, and craftsmanship. Showed us the upgraded weatherstripping and why he uses it. He also caught that our garage door needed new rollers. Daniel showed up and in a very friendly and informative manner set to work replacing the motor. In less than two hours he had installed the new opener. SO OVERPRICED!! Broken springs above my garage door, they charged $220 per spring. Other companies: a PAIR for $195. These are the same springs... no quality difference. Over double charge at Dynamic!! Then I had a panel of my garage door starting to collapse and I was told I had to order a new door... quote is almost DOUBLE the price as other companies. But worse than that... I didn't even need to order a door at all... the temporary truss supporting the collapsing panel can last at least 3 years before needing a new door... other people have had the same issue and were told the truss will buy them time before they have to get a new door. So it depends on who comes to your house from that company. They will over charge and sell more than needed. They do not do what's best for the customer, they will price gauge you!!! read more

Does your garage door ever break on a *good* day??? Well neither did ours. Coil/Spring broke on our way out to work Wednesday morning. Hubby is in construction and can generally fix most things but his reaction "let pros do it. Garage doors you don't mess with". I called Dynamic Door and Derrick came out that night when we got home from work. Got the info he needed on the door and coil and following evening he had it fixed and operating even better than before! Derrick was super informative, let me pick his brain with my endless questions (yes I'm annoying). You can tell he knows exactly what he is doing. He far exceeded our expectations and we couldn't be happier. Only down side is our garage is way quieter now, so I don't get a "warning" when someone is coming or going. So on Easter Day I wasn't thinking and backed into my garage door while the door was partially down. Disaster. Totally ruined the good happy mood for a while that is for sure. Cut to today (day after Easter). Dynamic Door service was able to make it out on short notice and fixed my crooked garage door that had gone totally off the rail and was bent pretty significantly to the point it wouldn't even close. Jay came out and within ten minutes has it back to perfect! Somehow he totally rebent the door back and got it back on the track! Even the wheels were bent. I don't understand how he did that! It looks like nothing has ever happened to the door. And best of all the bill was only $200. We thought it would have been so much more. Super fast, efficient and professional company! This company price gouges. They charged us almost double for a job compared to a smaller job done 2 years ago with the previous owner. We paid close to $800 for a single garage spring replacement. They are marking up the springs by 400%. We were told springs at cost would be about $50. The owner was extremely rude and condescending. He blamed us for them not giving a quote. The job was done late and I had to remind them it was pending. He also promised to service the garages and did not. If I could give zero stars I would. read more

Wonderful customer service, very professional and knowledgeable. They came out at 9pm on a Saturday (4 days before Christmas) and were able to fix our garage door that had fallen off the tracks, and fell on our vehicle. They kept us updated every step of the way, and were able to fix the door quickly. When they were done, it was actually working 1000x better than it had in years. My spring broke on my door which is never a good situation. When I called I got an appointment quickly. They arrived on time and called ahead to give me an eta. Backed up into my garage door on a Friday morning (Who hasn't done this at least once! lol). Panicked because I couldn't get my car out of the garage. It was early, so every garage company was closed. I called Dynamic Door Service and Derrick was kind enough to help me out. He was at the house within a little over an hour. Gave his recommendations & assessed the damages and gave me a good estimate. He & his coworker were nice enough to help lift the door so I could drive my car out. My garage door was done the following week; old door taken down, new door installed, painted to match the house (HOA rules) and discarded my old door. Clean and beautiful when I got home! Called at 12:45 PM on Friday, May 2. Person called said they could not make it that day, but could be here first thing Monday morning (between 9 and 11). Said charge would be $64.95 plus parts and taxes. Not sure about service. I waited until 11:35 and gave them a call. The person I talked to said he could not find an appiontment, but he would call to see who was in the area and call me right back. I called back after 12 and got a recording. It said if there is an emergency, call the shop at the number I dialed. It is now 12:30 and no return call. I gave up and called someone else as I will be away for 10 days (which I told them on Friday). What a joke! read more

Dynamic doesn't just do garage doors. I live in a rough neighborhood and had a couple of scary guys at my door one night trying to get away from a police helicopter searching the neighborhood! I realized later on they could have easily kicked in my crummy front door if they had just tried it. Dynamic came out and put in a new front door AND a beautiful security door! NOW my door is perfectly straight, locks easily, and has no gaps all around it. No more spiders crawling in or wasted air conditioning leaking out. The spring broke on my door at 5:30pm on Friday night, called Dynamic and the guy was really nice and said he could be out Saturday between 10am and 12 and that the price would be $220.00 dollars to replace spring. Waited till 12;30pm Saturday and no call or no show, so I called and the first guy I talked to knew nothing about my appt and then he transfer the call to another guy and he asked where do you live??? then said oh, I forgot to call you and my job is running late and it would be another 3 or 4 hours, no sorry or is that ok, I had to say are you still going to come out today. We've had Dynamic Door fix our garage door twice and have been very pleased both times in the last 5ish years. The first time we needed a new motor, springs, & we chose to get sturdier cables. Called James at Arizona Garage Door Guru but got Dynamic instead. James must have refered my call to them. Call back they did not identify themselves as a different company than I had requested. My door would only go down with the wall button, with a remote no movement at all, only a flashing LED. They told me my motor was shot and a replacement was the best choice. $435.00 "special". Now my motor raises and reverses to lower the door just fine. It apparently doesn't get the message from the safety sensors with the remote that is OK to go down. Probably one of the control boards. Not interested in repairs, only selling a new unit. Went to Lowes and replaced mine for $170.00 read more

I feel ripped off. He quoted me for a new door and Lift master opener ($1200.00) It was installed today and when I attempted to reprogram my keyless entry on the outside of the garage, it would not work. I called them relaying the problem and he stated that he asked me about selling me a new one for $62 when he was here for the estimate and I responded with not being interested in buying a new one. For the $1200 he should have included a new one. He never told me the one I had would not work. Nor did he tell me the opener switch close to the track of the door would not work. I need the ability to open and close the door whlie on the outside of the garage. Thanks but no thanks and I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy. read more

Called on Friday for garage door opener repair and they set up an appointment for Monday between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Waited till 1:30 p.m. and called them. They said they couldn't find anything about our call but would get right back to us. Well they didn't call right back so we called them, they said they would set us up for Tuesday - we said no thanks, we'll call someone else. Don't appreciate waiting for them to show up and having to stay home when they don't appreciate someone's business! Called at 11:30p.m. because my garage door would not close all the way. Misty was efficient, called me back promptly to confirm Mark would be out at 1:00. The one star is for Misty's efficiency. The reason my garage door wouldn't close is because a rolling table was left out about an inch too far earlier that morning, the garage door sensed it was there and would not close. I fully expected to pay the $65 trip fee, this had already been explained to me by Misty. Because Mark pushed the table back into place, they wanted to charge me $150. I thought Mark was joking. I am a repeat customer with Dynamic, I suggested they charge me the trip fee of $65. Mark made a call and "the boss" dropped the fee to $125. I told Mark he should have left the rolling table in place, this would have saved me $65. Come on, Dynamic, you let your greediness get in the way of building goodwill with a repeat customer. Next time I'll call another garage repair company. read more

I have used this company twice, and they have been excellent both times. The first time we had to replace a garage door on a flip and they got the door changed out the next day. Very clean, very professional and very easy to work with. Last night my mom ran into the garage. She decided to find her own company, and they came out said the door needed to be replaced. They quoted $1450.00 to replace the door. She called me and asked if I had a recommendation and I grabbed their card and gave them a call. At 1:08 p.m. I gave him a call. I asked him when he could give us a quote, and he said I will be out between 4 and 6 that day. He arrived at around 6:15 and neglected to call. However, when I contacted him at 5:30 to get an ETA I had no problem getting ahold of him and he must have apologized 10 times. When he got here he told me that it would cost $350.00 to repair. Thirty minutes later we had a functioning garage door with the rollers realigned the garage door straightened out and functioning. He did not charge anything for same day service, or any other random charges. I will only use this company moving forward. Derrick, the owner, is extremely personable and friendly and I can't say enough good things. I think its also important to note, that we would have charged $800.00 to replace the door in it's entirety. Dynamic Door Service only saved my mom $650.00 on a full on replacement and $1100.00 on the repair. I would say that is an excellent deal for the service and quality I received. What shocked me the most is that the company that came out to quote my mom had all 5 star reviews on Yelp with 16 total. It makes me really question using Yelp as a resource for finding companies. read more
