Tried to tell us that everything had to be replaced for about $1000. Told them I was going to get a second opinion and they didn't even bother sending an estimate (I think they knew they had been caught). Found another provider who said just the belt needed replacing (the part we knew was bad). He said the motor worked fine, but we had a spare from a family member, unused, so we had the other guy install it. Whole job only cost us $150 and it works great now. I don't like it when companies try to take advantage of the ignorance of customers. Stay away from this company. read more

Not worth it. Had a simple garage door issue. Home warranty assigned CITIWIDE Garage door and they came out after a week when other companies provide same day service. Said we need new opener and they will get an approval from fidelity for new opener. Didn't submit the request for next 7 days.When I called them after 3 business days (6 total days), they told me they are waiting for approval while they hadn't even submitted the report to warranty. Had to call home warranty multiple times to get them to submit approval. That took 1 week. Once approved they gave next day appointment to fix the opener and then cancelled the next morning. Now it will take them another week before they will come out and fix it. Home warranty is no help at this point and these guys could care less. read more

Soon after I moved into my home, the garage door mechanisms began failing me. CitiWide was assigned by my home warranty company. They came out and replaced the circuit board and reprogrammed all the openers. But the garage door motor was so old and decrepit that it failed again. They came out a week later and replaced the motor, the cables and even the electronic sensors and gave me new remotes. Tom is a wonderful technician, very professional and knows his stuff. Carmelle in scheduling was a delight to work with. She kept me informed and on schedule. After reading other reviews here, I'm not sure why there are several poor ones. Been having issues with the garage door not opening up when it gets hot called the home warranty company. They had Citywide Garage doors call me back which they did with in hours rather than days. They were able to fit me in with in the week with several time option and gave the name of who would be coming out. Tom the service tech was great. The first question being " How much would it be to replace a spring?". Her answer was $65 to $265.00... Lol that's a big difference! I was so impressed with Citiwide Garage from the quick scheduling to the great service. My home warranty company sent Citiwide Garage Door to fix an issue... I knew it was a broken part, but couldn't pin point it. The garage door was so loud and basically sounded like it was dying an awful death with scraping metal parts anytime it opened/closed. I got a call from Maria on the same day I submitted the request to my warranty company. Tom was here the next day and arrived a few minutes before the scheduled window even which was perfect! I had an issue with my garage door, called my warranty company who advised that part wasn't covered but they gave me the name of the service provider they would have worked with. I called and spoke with Lisa who was totally awesome to work with on the phone.. she told me she would call the tech to double check his schedule before confirming a time and she would call me right back. She did just that a few minutes later she called and said he could be here the very next day. Connor showed up, very professional and friendly he immediately noticed my problem was not what I originally suspected and that it was a bad sprocket ... he suggested I call the warranty company back as that is covered. I did just that and he got the claim proceeded from his boss nearly instantly which I was impressed with. He quickly went to work fixing it as he had the parts on his truck. Cleaned up and removed all his trash, which I much appreciated as that seems to be a lost art anymore with service providers. The next morning I found my door opener light was not illuminating so I called and spoke with Lisa again a wonderful exchange, she said she would talk with Connor and get back with me. I told her no rush as I knew they had a large job that day and said the next day would be fine. (The door was working just not the light so no major rush) Lisa called me this morning and said Connor would be back this afternoon and check on it. Unfortunately, 0 Stars is not an option. My family and I used this company to fix our garage door when we had a home warranty a little over a year ago. My wife was here when the work was done and I was surprised that they simply reattached the door just above where it had broken off. I was concerned that the section of the garage door was weakened and the control arm would just pull free again. Well, it did. I called an spoke to this awful person - Maria. Who refused to acknowledge that their technician could have done substandard work when he came out...and even said that was a year ago...as if it were 35 years ago. I explained that I wasn't asking for them to do it for free, but if a technician came out and looked at the previous work, he would certainly see that the fee we paid to "fix" the door while under warranty was shoddy and at the very least they could discount the service call. She raised her voice with me in some strange commanding way, as though she was taking charge of the conversation and demanded they would have no such responsibility. I explained that I would leave this review of my experience. At least I kept my promise. read more

These guys came out several times to my house to fix the garage door. I thought they were great and well priced. I even referred them to one of my friends. Now a year or so later I had another issue. They did not return my call or emails over weeks. I finally called someone else who came out and said when they replaced my door they only replaced the skin and not the hardware. I was told when you buy a new door it comes with all the hardware. Basically the guy said they screwed me. They charged me for a new door, replaced the panels but didn't touch the hardware as they should have. I'm now having to pay for that. read more

Hello again fellow Yelpers! Here's a little story about CITYIWIDE GARAGE DOORS. They came 4 times for same issues! Kept putting a bandage on the problem... Never considered just fixing it! Finally ... We got a new garage door company over this morning after it breaking AGAIN last night! .. Turns out after a certified technician checked it out it needed a LOT of repairs.... gear and sprocket is broken completely covered in shavings of metal...the rollers are in terrible condition and Everything they did was wrong! After actually fixing the problem and putting new rollers on... It opens and closed smoothly and QUIETLY!!! As other reviews show the problem is with the OWNER-KEVIN! It is apparent he is by no means a business man! Because I am the renter and not the one who paid him he felt it was just fine to insult and ridicule me.... He doesn't stop to think simply because I don't own this property that I have no friends and business associates who do OWN their garages! The best business you get is word of mouth! I firmly believe... If you don't like a service you tell the owner so they can rectify it and if you do like the service... You tell everyone! I am not afraid to voice my experiences with KEVIN. It's very sad he is only professional to the ones lining his pockets! time to act like a professional! That's it... Other than if you wish to do business with somebody like that... I only hope you have no problems that will force you to talk to KEVIN! If so, prepare to be verbally abused... And ready to record him... Which luckily I did! I also took pictures of EVERYTHING !! Had our old garage door spring break, one car hostage to the heavy double door. Home warranty assigned Citiwide and Tom came out when advertised and quickly repaired partially (so we could get the car out) then fully so the door was 100%. Even replaced the old single spring with two so that next time this should happen, at least one spring is still working, should be able to get the car out. Kevin, the owner, has terrible customer service skills. I bounced a check (yes, totally my bad) and they called the wrong number who said "wrong number" and hung up on them. Then Kevin called me back leaving me a voicemail threatening to put a lean on my house and sue me because I hung up on them when I never even answered. My call history proves that! This was the first time I had heard of me bouncing a check. I paid the check and the $25 fee, like a good customer, but did NOT appreciate being threatened over a voicemail. I called my Warranty company back, they called other vendors and CitiWide was willing to come the next day. I was super skeptical of the service I would get after immediately looking at other reviews of them through their home warranties after hearing who the company would be. However I was pleasantly surprised. They called to get me scheduled within 12 hours and had an appt the next day. Thomas, the tech, called 2 hours prior to my appt and asked if I preferred him to come out now since he was ahead of schedule. He fixed both my springs and was in and out in under 30 mins.
