My experience started 4 1/2 years ago with this company for a repair & tune up.My house was built in 1986.Garage door making noises & panels were separating from each other. At the time the Tech came out he explained it had lived its life cycle & was time to replace it. He repaired it with 2 additional braces that were in excess of 20 feet long for less than$300. Explained the repair was good for 18 months. Four years later all still good but the outside trim was worn, the bottom gasket to keep out pests was worn. Found a 4ft bull snake after a rain storm in the garage because of the worn gasket. A tech came out , explained the options etc. Used an IPAD, the door I wanted too expensive.But replaced everything new with an insulated door for 1/2 of the price of what I wanted. Set me up with a financial plan for $39 per month. The new door is super quiet.Looks nice too! The door manufacturer is Clopay, so they make commercial & residential units.They made the process pretty easy, no big application to fill out .. 3 weeks the door arrived from the factory. Garage doors are made custom to each customer's specific needs. If you "want fast food" like changed in one day you will not be happy. Good Quality, Great Service, Great Follow up. Frank my install tech was amazing! This company has been in business a long time,no challenges with the BBB. They survived covid , and have a good google rating. So I got tired of listening to my garage door opening, it literally sounded like it was in pain raising the heavy door. My dogs are bolters so I use the garage as an air lock and maintain their prisoner status. They were pretty quick to install an updated system that was simple to use. Watch out for them coming at you to try and sell you solar panels. You saw that right, solar panels from a garage door company. Back up, a few months ago I had them out to diagnose an issue. Charged me a hundred or two to turn up the "force" of my opener and spray the wheels with grease. Said the opener seemed to be ok, put the door down and seemed fine. Fast forward a few weeks and the issue is back. I'm busy and didn't call right away. But, they called me trying to sell solar panels so I said hey thanks so much for calling, I actually have been meaning to call you to see if you could come back and look at my door and see why it's making the same sound again. He was happy to waive any trip charge for me and said he sent a note to Nikki to get me scheduled, it was late afternoon so it wouldn't be for about 24 hours or so but that he would send her the message to call me and there would be no charge. Great, thanks. So can we talk about solar now? Well I'm completely against solar but I'll listen to you. And yes I'll email you my SRP bill so you can estimate usage, cost etc. alright, can you just quote that over the phone, look at my roof from Google maps, no he said they really wanna come out and take a look in person. Fine, come tomorrow. We'll end of the day I just decided I don't like solar, no point in wasting their time so I message Nick back to cancel. He says ok. Guess what, 12 days later and Nikki never got the message to call me and schedule the free appointment to come back and take a look. I know this because I called today and she said well the technician said the opener is really old and the wheels need to be replaced and he quoted you on a garage door opener with a camera. Was given an estimate over the phone after describing the type of rotary spring on my door. When technician arrived he said the price for a basic spring replacement was almost twice as much as I had been quoted over the phone and claimed that no one replaced rotary springs and that they would install conventional scprings. I sent him away because I wanted to shop around and verify what he told me. WRONG!!! I quickly found another service that is now replacing my rotary springs for close to that initial estimate that Stapley quoted me. I do not appreciate bait and switch tactics. My garage door was only opening intermittently and I called Stapley Action Garage Door (480-655-1255), 4613 E. Ivy St., Ste. 102, Mesa, AZ. on 7/29/19. Today a repairman came out and said that the door weight was different than when we had springs replaced about a year ago from another company. He made an adjustment to the motor. The garage door then opened. The repairman said that eventually the wheels that run on the tracks would wear out and we should replace then with plastic wheels. I told him that when the time came we would call them to replace them. I was then told that he would charge another $79 for a service call if we didn't get the plastic wheels now. I agreed. The charge for the visit was $279. About an hour after the man left, I went to go shopping. The door only opened about 2 feet off the ground and stopped. The door did this again and again after several tries. I called Stapley again and told them the problem. Stapley called back later and said that it would cost another $200.00 to have something called a logic board replaced. The logic board has to be ordered and would take 1-2 days. I told someone named Dave that we didn't really need the new wheels that were just put on and I did not want to pay an additional $200.00. I asked if they would deduct the unnecessary charge for the wheels and remove them. They would not and said it was against the law to do so. I found out this was a lie! Dave came out unannounced and said he wanted to look at the garage door. I told him I was very upset because I feel that we had been taken advantage of. He was condescending and impolite. He left after I told him I was contacting the BBB. I was then called by Stapley Garage Door and told that they said I now need to get an entirely new motor at a cost of $489, but they would give me $200 credit for the unneeded wheels. I said no. I then contacted a consumer reporter who later called and said that Stapley Garage Door was now offering to charge me $181 after deducting the $200 for the wheels. Why put good money after bad? I declined. I filed a complaint with the BBB but have not received a reply. My husband is 80 years old and I am 77 years old. We live on Social Security and don't have a lot of money to throw around. My husband also has dementia and I am trying very, very hard to make decisions that my husband has made for nearly 52 years. Our garage door is now in manual position. I am concerned since the garage is right off the entrance into our home that our safety is at risk. read more

The person who took the call was very professional and said the technician would be to our house in 2 hours and would call before arrival and guess what this actually happened...yeah. The technician arrived, evaluated the door and advised me verbally as well in writing what the problem was and the necessary parts to repair. He also gave me 3 different warranty options for me to choose, each option with a different price and years the warranty would cover. I chose the warranty option and the work started. We hired these guys to install a garage door opener through Home Depot. They never asked for any information about our garage door, but on the day of our appointment they told us we need an extension and would need to reschedule. This seems to be a common issue, so I don't know why they wouldn't have asked me my garage door height when they scheduled the original appointment. That's inconvenient, but while on site, the tech called the office in front of me and rescheduled 5 days out. 3 days later the office texted me asking if I was ready to reschedule. I said, "I already did reschedule?" They have no idea what's going on. They can't even correctly schedule a job on a calendar. What's worse was that they tried to make us pay a trip charge when they showed up for the second visit. They only agreed to waive the fee once they realized how upset we were. Now that being said we all understand that things happen, but when you were called 3 times to set up a service window and we tell you we have a busy hectic life to keep up with, you would think we would at the very minimum receive a call that you are running behind. We send these guys quite a bit of business. They always do a good job. But this review isn't about that. It's about MY experience. When the tech arrived from Stapley he was on time. I like on time. Okay hold on, let me start over. The backlog to this story: When I leave for a weekend, my house goes on lock down. I'm paranoid like that. So I have this special locking mechanism for my garage door, you know for extra reinforcement in case someone decides to break in and feed my 80lb wolf. Well, in my haste, upon returning home after a long weekend, I tried to open said garage door while said locking mechanism was still engaged. Bad idea. Ripped the dang garage door opener right off the door, and some of the door with it! Sheesh. Embarrassing. It took me a week just to tell my fiance what happened. So back to Stapley. Tech comes out, looks at door, saves me the embarrassment by not asking me why the door looks the way it does. Tells me what my options are. I like options. Then says, you know I can just put "this thing here", and he totally fixed it. He was able to bypass broken part with new part, and charged me significantly less than what I would have expected. I was pretty pumped. All the while, the tech doesn't know that my company gives him lots of business and yet the service he offered was outstanding. Oh, and before he told me what the cost was going to be, he also helped me reattach a hanging storage unit at his suggestion. Pretty cool. Our garage door and opener broke so we ordered a new, stock size garage door and opener thru Home Depot the middle of November. Stapley is the contractor for Home Depot. They were supposed to schedule the installation last week, didn't hear from them, I called today and was told now our standard size, basic (not customized at all) door won't even be shipped from Ohio until January 10th! That's 2 months after we ordered and paid for it! Apparently they must not make any garage doors until you order it, even standard size, otherwise why would it take over 2 months just to ship the damn thing. If we hadn't gotten such a great price I would cancel the whole thing. Previous to going with Home Depot, we got a bid from a local company for the same size and style door who would have been able to install it the same week! They were nearly a $1000 more so that's why we went with HD, but we had no idea we would be stuck without a functioning door for 2 months. read more

Do not use- the installer is super lazy, trying to use the old garage opener parts and not the ones from the new garage door opener unit. The installer brings a super dusty box and when I question him why it is so dusty, he admits the company buys garage door openers units in bulk, so here I purchased a garage door opener unit and get one with a manufacture date from 2016. Its Arizona and I do not want a 2016 unit which has been sitting around in some hot warehouse for months. In regards to appointment times, an appointment was set for a certain date and I was advised I would receive a call to confirm a time frame, but no call was ever received and I had to call them to get the time range. Save yourself time and energy and DO NOT use this company. I would give zero stars if I was able to!!
